"Curiosity invites us to go deeper." In this episode, Nick speaks with TJ Woodward to explore conscious recovery, healing from trauma, and the importance of self-awareness in personal growth. TJ shares his journey from childhood experiences to addiction and recovery, emphasizing the significance of understanding core beliefs and the role of curiosity in healing. What to listen for: Life is about returning to our true selves, not about attaining something Childhood experiences significantly shape our beliefs and behaviors Unresolved trauma, spiritual disconnection, and toxic shame are root causes of addiction Awareness is crucial for healing, but it can also be painful Curiosity can lead to deeper understanding and growth Making peace with the past is essential for overcoming core false beliefs The lens through which we view the world is shaped by our experiences Healing trauma requires acknowledging and caring for our wounds The unconscious mind often dictates our responses and behaviors “Can I be in that in the midst of it? I wanna honor the pain. I wanna honor the experience. I'm not gonna bypass and pretend like it's not happening. But in the midst of that, it's like, I'm wondering what wants to emerge. What else is possible for me?” Being present with pain is powerful, it's not weakness, it's deep self-awareness Honoring what you're going through creates space for real transformation Emotional bypassing might feel easier, but it blocks growth In every struggle, there's potential for something new to be born Asking “what else is possible?” invites curiosity, healing, and forward movement “We can kind of change the past because the past is the narrative in our head and it's the energy associated with it.” The past isn't fixed — it lives in the stories we tell ourselves Shifting our perspective can shift how we feel about what happened Healing is about rewriting the emotional charge, not denying the facts Your story is yours to evolve, and that's real power Changing your relationship with the past changes who you become in the present About TJ Woodward TJ is a Revolutionary Recovery Expert, Inspirational Speaker, Educator, Addictions Treatment Specialist, host of The Element Q Podcast, and Best-Selling Author. Layoffs, furloughs, and rehiring after downsizing are decisions that press on both the head and the heart. Sarah Lockwood talks with Peggy Shell, the CEO of Creative Alignments, about the reality of leading a team through moments when survival means making choices no leader wants to make. Peggy shares how her company moved from furloughs to layoffs during an economic downturn and what it took to carry the weight of those decisions while still protecting the future of the business. How do you take care of the people who stay after you've had to let others go? How much truth should you share when your team is already anxious? Peggy explains how transparency and steady communication built trust, even in the midst of layoffs, and why she chose approaches like covering health insurance, offering transition periods, and helping people find new roles. She also reflects on the uneasy process of hiring again after downsizing and the challenge of moving forward with confidence when past decisions still weigh heavy. This episode encourages entrepreneurs to look closely at how layoffs, furloughs, and rehiring after downsizing affect more than just headcount. These moments test the culture of a company, the trust between leaders and their teams, and the resilience of a business when pressure hits. Peggy's story shows how the choices a leader makes in these situations leave a lasting mark on both the people and the direction of the business. “If you don't have courage, you're not even in the middle of consciousness.” - Justin Foster CBQ - Why is being a conscious entrepreneur not the default? This episode explores why conscious entrepreneurship isn't the norm, breaking down three key barriers: a lack of awareness around consciousness, systemic pressures that discourage it, and the false belief that consciousness and capitalism can't coexist. The conversation dives into what it really takes to build a conscious business—moral clarity, scalable genius, and meaningful impact—while challenging common misconceptions about wealth and success. It also unpacks how influence, ethics, and personal fulfillment play a central role in redefining what it means to be a successful entrepreneur. [00:05:19] “If we just listened to our soul, we would never be insecure.” [00:06:08] “If you're a real entrepreneur, you look more like an artist.” [00:07:23] “Who are you without any of the labels?” [00:12:45] “If you don't have courage, you're not even in the middle of consciousness.” [00:24:30] “When you're conscious, guilty pleasures are just pleasures.” The Third Way - Substack LinkedIn @FosterThinking Follow Juan on LinkedIn Check out CareerBlindspot.com Follow on LinkedIn and Instagram → Your listening perspective matters - 5 min survey.

So much of what holds leaders back isn't strategy or skill. It's the invisible mindset traps we don't even realize we're stuck in. Most leadership challenges are created by unconscious patterns running the show beneath the surface. In this episode, we dig into what it really takes to break those patterns with Diana Chapman, executive coach and co-author of The 15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership. We explore how leaders unknowingly operate from fear instead of trust, how ego-driven patterns around control, approval, and security quietly sabotage progress, and why taking radical responsibility is a game-changer. Diana also breaks down the Drama Triangle—the victim, villain, and hero roles we slip into—and reveals how to break free from reactivity and drama to lead with more clarity and presence. We unpack why addiction to comfort and being right can quietly derail your leadership impact, and explore the dangers of greed in leadership, and what it really means to show up in a state of trust and curiosity. ________________ Start your day with the world's top leaders by joining thousands of others at Great Leadership on Substack. Send us a textToo many transformational programs focus on individual breakthroughs and ignore the collective. But true evolution doesn't happen in isolation—it happens in community. It creates a ripple. And if your personal growth doesn't ripple out into the world, it's not transformation. It's performance. In this unfiltered, truth-telling episode of The Cosmic Valkyrie Podcast, Lynn Louise challenges the self-help industry's obsession with “solo healing” and spiritual bypassing—and invites you into something far more powerful: real, embodied, collective evolution. You'll hear why “just focus on yourself” is an outdated survival mechanism rooted in privilege, not empowerment. And why authentic transformation must engage with the world around you—not escape from it.

Dan Berger led Social Tables through a $100M exit and now he's focused on something even harder to build: belonging. In this vulnerable conversation, he shares what most leaders miss about culture, how his board almost ousted him due to a toxic exec hire, and why belonging should be treated as a leadership choice — not an HR initiative. He also unpacks why rituals matter, why alcohol doesn't belong in team settings, and what founders can learn from AA meetings about structure, vulnerability, and connection. We also get into his latest venture, Assemble Hospitality Group, a new asset class of “micro resorts” designed for team offsites and retreats. Dan breaks down the mechanics of retreat design, conscious exclusivity, and how different team members — from introverts to eager belongers — need different paths to feel seen and connected. If your company is hybrid, remote, or just feeling disconnected, this episode offers sharp, practical insight to get back on track. What if the most powerful leadership tool you have… is your mind? The Neuroscience of Conscious Leadership isn't just a buzz phrase; it's the key to staying grounded, resilient, and effective in today's fast-moving, high-pressure world. In this week's episode of Reflect Forward, I sit down with Aileda Lindal, a brilliant consultant and expert in the convergence of technology and humanity, to explore how leaders can rewire their brains, shift their relationship with stress, and lead with calm, clarity, and conscious presence. Aileda's story of building and leading medical operations during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic is powerful. While the world shut down, her world sped up, and what got her through was presence, self-regulation, and a commitment to leading from the eye of the storm. Mic Drop Moment: “If you're not balanced, you're not calling your best shots; you're calling some potentially really bad ones. And those ripple out.” We talk about: • The science of resilience and how to regulate under pressure • What it means to operate from the “eye of the storm” • The power of mantras like cool, calm, and collected to ground your leadership • Why self-awareness isn't optional—it's a leadership non-negotiable • How I quit drinking and rewired my habits by making one decision and repeating it consistently This conversation is deeply personal and wildly practical. Whether you're leading a company, a team, or yourself, this episode will help you shift from reaction to conscious response. Key Takeaways: 1. Stress is a choice. Reframe it as a challenge or opportunity. 2. Presence builds resilience. The more aware you are, the more empowered your actions become. 3. You can reprogram your brain. Neuroplasticity proves that new habits do stick with consistency. 4. Your energy matters. As a leader, how you show up affects everyone around you. Jesse Pujji reveals how he builds wildly successful companies from scratch by doubling down on talent, distribution, and the power of bootstrapping. In this episode, Sarah Lockwood sits down with the serial founder and investor behind Gateway X, a venture studio that launches and scales high-performing companies without venture capital. Jesse shares how he went from Goldman Sachs and McKinsey to building Ampush, one of Facebook's earliest and most effective performance marketing agencies, which grew to manage over $1 billion in ad spend for top brands like Uber, Peloton, and Dollar Shave Club. That experience became the foundation for how he now builds high-performance teams and scalable businesses through bootstrapping. Jesse breaks down the core principles that drive his companies: hiring exceptional talent, obsessing over sales and distribution, and staying rooted in profitability from day one. He shares the origin stories of ventures like GrowthAssistant, which connects startups with offshore marketing talent, and explains how each business at Gateway X is shaped by a unique unfair advantage and the right operating partner, not a VC-funded roadmap. “Yes, the world feels like a hot mess right now. But what if the real power lies not in fixing the chaos ‘out there,' but in finding our footing ‘in here'?” That was the heart of my recent conversation on More Than a Few Words with the always wise and wonderfully grounded Deborah Sunderland. We didn't talk strategy or spreadsheets this time—we talked soul. How we, as women business owners, can navigate the storms of our external world by coming back to the steady center within ourselves. Because let's be honest: things are weird out there. Between the economy, politics, and everything in between, it's easy to feel like we're being tossed around in a storm we didn't sign up for. But as Deborah gently reminded me—and now, I'll remind you—we've been through a lot, and we're still standing. That resilience? It's no small thing. Key Takeaways for Women Business Owners: You've already weathered storms. Recognize your resilience. The past few years have tested everyone, and you've made it through. That alone deserves a moment of appreciation. Your mindset is your power tool. Our brains are sneaky little things—they'll default to fear and scarcity unless we redirect them. When you catch yourself spiraling, pause and ask: “What thought is driving this feeling?” and then: “How might this actually be for me?” Emotions aren't the enemy—resistance is. Don't stuff it down. Feel it fully. Most emotions pass in 90 seconds if we stop wrestling with them. Anger, fear, frustration—they're signals, not stop signs. Shift the conversation with yourself. The most important conversations aren't in the boardroom—they're in your own mind. Be kinder, more curious, and less judgmental toward yourself. And hey, extend that grace to others too (yes, even the annoying customer service rep). Your breath is free medicine. Use it. Three deep breaths can shift your entire nervous system. It's not woo—it's biology. Take those moments of calm and reclaim your focus. Try This Today: Grab a notebook and write down: “How am I OK right now?” List at least 5 things. (Yes, “I'm breathing” counts!) Close your eyes and take 3 slow, deep breaths. Let your body know: “I am safe right now.” Before reacting to someone, ask: “How might they be doing their best?” It'll change the tone—and the outcome—of your conversation. We're thrilled to host Diana Chapman for our final episode of Season 10. A highly sought-after and trusted advisor, in her own words, Diana is an environmentalist at heart. Diana came to the Hoffman Process in July 2024 with one desire. She'd already done a lot of personal growth work. She'd even sent many people to Hoffman. But it wasn't until this one desire became clear to her that she decided to go through the Process. Diana realized just how much creative energy she was spending each day on judging her body. Although she'd already made peace with her parents, Diana knew her judgment came from her parents' patterns. She wondered if the Hoffman Process could help, and it did. Diana shares that she often uses light-heartedness to work with her patterns. While that has worked well for her for some time, in the end, Diana has found that heartbreak is often necessary to transform some patterns. She shares that she's found liberation in a broken heart. In the work Diana does with teams and individuals, she leads them to work with the intelligence of the body and heart. She speaks of the sensuality of the body and how she wants to experience more heaven on earth, and guides others to experience this, too. We hope you enjoy this episode with Diana and Drew. Thank you for tuning in to season 10 of Love's Everyday Radius. We'll be back in August for season 11.
