Hey Soul Sister, Welcome to another episode of UNCHAIN YOUR INNER STRENGTH podcast. A place to help entrepreneurs OWN their unique story, inspire, heal and make a bigger impact. Entrepreneurs worldwide jump into this podcast to bring you their most valuable mindset and business tools, tips and strategies to help you become more succesful in the areas of your life that you need most. We are here to help your life and business journey Soul Sister. Real stories from real women for real women, to empower, inspire, share and help what you need to help you achieve your dreams. In this week's episode: ARE YOU A GYM FREAK? There was a time when I used to get up early in the morning, 6 am most days, at least from Monday to Saturday so I wouldn’t miss my favorite classes at the gym… If I fell asleep, even for 5 minutes, I’d miss my chance, they would be all filled up. So every day, 6 am up and ready to face the world! I loved it! I would start by doing some spin or cardio and then join a hardcore class, get all pumped up and then finish with a yoga or pilates class to get all my streches done. Ever since the quarantine started I have been trying to keep up with the same routine from home. It’s not always as intense or long as what I’m used to but I do it because I enjoy it.... And if you’re anything as a gym freak as I am, then you’ll be able to relate. Working out from home helped me discover a world of online personal trainers with trainings as effective and hardcore as the ones I liked and it got me thinking on how, as humans, we can adapt to anything when necessary. In this week’s episode I had the pleasure of interviewing Helen Harper, a Martial Arts Coach and Professional Fighter. The day I met Helen to record our podcast, she had just finished her training in her back garden, soon after having an amazing session with one of her clients. Helen found working online more enjoyable than working at a gym or studio, and to her surprise, so did her clients. For some people it can be daunting to go to the gym, especially if they are new to fitness and health altogether; so by doing a personal 1-1 class with Helen, they would feel more inclined to open up and share their struggles and what they need help with most. We also talked about how easy it was for her to transition her business online and how much she loved it to. She is now able to work at her own pace, choosing her schedule and most importantly, her clients, making it the business of her dreams. Here's more about Helen and where you can find her: Helen Harper is a professional mixed martial arts coach and fighter. Currently residing in England, she has travelled the world, fighting coaching and competing. Her highlights have come from The Ultimate Fighter (season 23) as well as the promotions Bellator MMA and Brave Combat Federation. Instagram: lunatic.booklover
Helen Harper is a mixed martial artist who competed on The Ultimate Fighter 23 on Team Joanna and most recently competed for Brave CF. She also has her own podcast and teaches online self defence classes.
In this episode Helen and I continue to work on her aggression and control. We have started to hit on some more emotional areas of her life now. Some things from her past that still run in her thinking today. They are all pieces of the puzzle we are building.
This is a recording of the third coaching session I did with Helen to help her improve her aggression levels when she fights. This time we explore anger a bit more.
This episode is a recording of the second coaching session I did with Helen. We are working to help her get into the optimum frame of mind for when she gets back to competing. A combination of aggression and control.
Helen Harper is a professional MMA fighter. She wants to get the right balance of aggression and control when she competes. This episode is a recording of a coaching session that I did with her.
Helen competes in mixed martial arts and trains others to do it. We had a chat about what it's like to have someone else trying to rip your head off and the importance of having the right team around you. Amongst other things.
Today I am joined by UK MMA veteran Helen Harper. Alongside being a full time professional fighter, Helen owns and runs HHH Self Defence, a company designed to facilitate teaching self defence, and thus empowering women. Helen offers online and face to face seminars. Our conversation took many paths, from escaping abusive relationships, using the last of her money to get to Thailand to pursue being a full time fighter, to pumpkin spiced flapjacks. During the podcast Helen made reference to a blog post, and the link to that is below:https://www.hhhselfdefence.com/post/running-through-treacleYou can also find her website here:https://www.hhhselfdefence.com/
