In the late 1900s, teenage girls and young women were hired at the United States Radium Company to paint watch dials with glowing paint. On November 22, 1995, filmmaker Allen Ross disappeared without a trace. Allen was part of a religious cult called the Samaritan Foundation, that was led by his wife Linda Greene. Linda believed vampires could gain access to her by talking on the phone, negative energy could be washed away with soy milk, and barcodes were evil. Years later, Allen's body was found, but no one was ever charged with the murder. In 1587, John White led a group of 118 colonists to the first English settlement on Roanoke Island off the coast of North Carolina. In 1920’s Los Angeles, a mother/daughter duo of sixty-year-old May Otis Blackburn and her 24-year-old daughter Ruth started a cult called Blackburn with the goal of swindling members out of money. There was also an attempted resurrection of a 16 year old girl whose corpse had been stored in a wooden box in a makeshift mausoleum underneath her parents' house.
