The ladies speak on Pervert Park and the offenders of Miracle Village
Today we begin with one man who is far too proud of the crimes he's committed. Then we delve into the realm of the unthinkable and watch a report about a trailer park full of s*x offenders aptly titled “Pervert Park.” Speaking of perverts, Jordan Peterson is tweeting out milking porn thinking it's from a cum farm in China. True Crime: Predators with Cathy Cassidy, Clinical/Forensic Therapist
***TRIGGER WARNING*** THIS EPISODE CONTAINS EXPLICIT CONTENT of sexual violence that some people may find disturbing. This Podcast is a review of a documentary called Pervert Park and a segment about a female sex offender who raped her 8-year-old son. The offender appears in the documentary called Pervert Park and after an attempted deep dive search I found a recent YouTube interview. I will share the stories she provided in both interviews along with my attempt to remain professional, while deeply moved by yet another monumental act of inhumane savage behavior, in order to analyze, raise questions of professional concern and discrepancies. Join me in this layered web and see what you think...warning....it's soooo long. The podcast turns 6 months old and we're celebrating with Harrisburg comedian Pat George, who produces a slew of podcasts and performs all over the East Coast. A Florida native who barely escaped fame on two occasions, George is a regular on the Brewery Comedy Tour and co-hosts Falls Count Anywhere and Chasing Infamy with Zack Hammond and just began streaming games with his wife, Dom, with the Board Georges. He's a big fan of the punk rock, so we dug deep on the parallels it shares with comedy.George will be performing at the Rainbow Trail in Owego on Thursday, May 25, providing we're allowed out of our houses by then. Fingers crossed. Stay safe, everybody. Support the show (https://www.facebook.com/OnTheMicWithMikePeters/)

Følgende titler omtales: 0:18:59 Pit and the Pendulum (1961) 0:29:26 Game Over, Man! 0:43:04 Inferno (1980) 0:52:33 Pervert Park 1:01:12 The Fits 1:11:40 A Beautiful Mind 1:24:09 Shut In 1:40:01 Don't Breathe 1:52:44 Resurrection
In this week's episode, Neil, Niki, and Natalia debate the viral New Yorker short story “Cat Person”, the disproportionately high maternal death rate among black women, and the Elf on the Shelf phenomenon. Support Past Present on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/pastpresentpodcast Here are some links and references mentioned during this week’s show: Kristen Roupenian’s New Yorker short story “Cat Person” went surprisingly viral last week. Natalia cited Laura Kipnis’ Unwanted Advances to dissuade readers from equating bad and coercive sex. Natalia cited Jennifer Weiner’s New York Times op-ed about the snobbery often directed at her career writing “chick lit.” Neil recommended Roupenian’s interview with Deborah Treisman. ProPublica published a damning article highlighting the many reasons black women die in pregnancy and childbirth. Neil recommended anthropologist Carolyn Rouse’s book Uncertain Suffering: Racial Health Care Disparities and Sickle Cell Disease, and Natalia recommended Alondra Nelson’s Body and Soul: The Black Panther Party and the Fight Against Medical Discrimination and Susan Reverby’s Examining Tuskegee: The Infamous Syphilis Study and its Legacy. We discussed the newest Christmas tradition – the now decade-plus old Elf on the Shelf. In our regular closing feature, What’s Making History: Neil discussed the history of the claw foot tub. Natalia commented on the new PBS documentary, Pervert Park. Niki shared The Cut article, “The Life and Death of a Radical Sisterhood.”
Ceej and Rob are back and they can't believe just how crappy 2016 continues to be. Princess Leia becomes one with the force and it sort of destroys Rob but thankfully Ceej is able to bring him back from the edge. They discuss the moral implications of using someone's likeness after they die and Ceej has some ideas on what he would do with Rob's face. Rob really enjoys the new show People of Earth, digs The Autopsy of Jane Doe, torments his wife with the Fuller family, and then they discuss junk food for the soul. Dead Rising 4 is all sorts of awesome while Ceej has a new take on Final Fantasy XV before Rob brings Ceej into the world of Pervert Park. The boys of BDR wish you and yours a fantastic New Year and will continue to bring you new shows and episodes in 2017!
John is out this week, so it’s just the two brothers on the microphone. They both saw the Nashville film, Lion Suit Dreamscape at the Belcourt Theater and talk about the film. This leads into Sports Talk which quickly leads into what makes a grown man cry. David gives his answers and Lee tries to conjure up a time or two. That somehow leads into the fires in Gatlinburg and a film David saw called Pervert Park. Lee wants a One World Order and this somehow ends up devolving into what time period they would like to time travel to in history. Also one of the hosts almost died this week and they try to solve a childhood mystery in the process. This week, Patrick of the podcasts Make Dad Read Comics and Almost Educational joins the show to discuss "Doctor Strange." Cassidy discusses his visit to LA's Comikaze expo and he does a solo review for the indie awards contender "Moonlight." Together, we review the documentary "Pervert Park" and we try and carefully tip-toe around a discussion of how the law should be dealing with sex-offenders. On this episode we look at lives suspended by the loss of youth in LITTLE CHILDREN and CHILDREN OF MEN. In the former, Kate Winslet and Patrick Wilson play a married couple whose affair recaptures a passion in their lives that they no longer feel with their own families, and in the latter families aren’t being made anymore as Clive Owen becomes responsible for the care of a woman who has given birth to the first child in almost two decades. But first we discuss documentary that is not an easy watch, but is ultimately very rewarding in new release PERVERT PARK.
Episode 13 of One Week Only! Only 4 films this week - Carlos is busy attending the Hola Mexico Film Festival as part of a fellowship for young hispanic filmmakers! Our key film of the week is the award-winning documentary "Pervert Park" which premiered at Sundance 2015. A harrowing look at a trailer home park for registered sex offenders, it makes us think about uncomfortable questions about justice and forgiveness, and the blurred line between victim & criminal. It plays at the NY Media Center this week as part of IFP Screen Forward. We also cover the 1921 silent film "Destiny" by Fritz Lang, newly restored & back in theatres thanks to Kino Lorber; Spanish drama "Ma Ma" starring Penélope Cruz as a mother suffering from breast cancer; and French drama "The Measure of a Man" starring Vincent Lindon as a downtrodden man desperate to find a job - Lindon won Best Actor at Cannes 2015 for his performance. Hosted by Carlos Aguilar & Conor Holt. Music by Kevin MacLeod at www.imcompetech.com
Frida Barkfors & Lasse Barkers talk Pervert Park, their harrowing documentary on convicted sex offenders attempting to reintegrate into society.
