A bizarre organization called Love Has Won was recently forced out of Hawaii by law enforcement for causing fires, riots, and vandalism. They are a Colorado based cult whose leader, Amy Carlson, goes by “Mother,” is a former McDonalds manager, an alcoholic, and drug addict. Between 1986 and 1991, the bodies of 10 women were found raped and strangled to death in the South Korean city of Hwaseong. It was the largest criminal case in South Korean history, often compared to the Zodiac murders, with over 21,000 suspects investigated. In the late 1900s, teenage girls and young women were hired at the United States Radium Company to paint watch dials with glowing paint. Unbeknownst to them, this paint was actually made with a highly dangerous radioactive substance that would cause harrowing pain, cancer, and death. On November 22, 1995, filmmaker Allen Ross disappeared without a trace. Allen was part of a religious cult called the Samaritan Foundation, that was led by his wife Linda Greene. In 1587, John White led a group of 118 colonists to the first English settlement on Roanoke Island off the coast of North Carolina. But when the colony's leader, John White, made a trip back to England to get supplies, he returned to Roanoke to find all the settlers had vanished. They left behind only a single clue, the word “Croatoan” carved into a post. The colonists were never seen again. Historians and archaeologists have been trying to figure out what happened to those initial settlers ever since. In 1920’s Los Angeles, a mother/daughter duo of sixty-year-old May Otis Blackburn and her 24-year-old daughter Ruth started a cult called Blackburn with the goal of swindling members out of money. On July 7, 2011, the body of 69 year old Richard Oland was found in the office of his investment firm in New Brunswick, Canada. Discovered by his personal assistant, Richard had been bludgeoned to death. He was the CEO of Moosehead Breweries, a pillar of the community, and his family was one of the wealthiest in New Brunswick. His son was charged with the murder, but a botched police investigation led to the verdict being overturned.
