Is Future and Drake's "What A Time To Be Alive" project "real" hip hop? Andreas & Kel discuss that and the Complex op-ed that blames "old heads" for ruining rap music. They also speak to Ring Of Honor's rising talent Moose about his brutal match with Cedric Alexander at All Star Extravaganza 7, how he got into pro wrestling and African American wrestlers. They also talk about Fedor dissing the UFC to fight in Japan, Bellator and World Series of Fighting's opportunity to make their presence felt and the low PPV #s for Mayweather-Berto.
Andreas & Kel talk the aftermath of Mayweather-Berto, their experiences ringside, whether this will be Mayweather's last fight and who will take the place of TBE. They also preview WWE Night of Champions and Ring Of Honor's All Star Extravaganza 7 as well as discuss Nick Diaz' suspension for marijuana and how in the hell French Montana made Sanaa Lathan his new boo.
Floyd "Money" Mayweather could have actually fought for the last time. The idea of a sport without a huge magnet sitting in the middle is nice. That the end may have come by way of a wide win over Andre Berto is underwhelming, but boxing. And now that the fight is out of the way, we have a potential PED mess to talk about. The good news is that the Pay-Per-View undercard was fun. "Rocky" Martinez and Orlando Salido were in another gritty war, Badou Jack shaded George Groves by decision, and Jonathan Oquendo upset Jhonny Gonzalez in a back-and-forth scrap. There was other boixing stuff on. Peter Quillin scored a nasty stoppage of Michael Zerafa; Vanes Martirosyan dropped Ishe Smith a few times in winning; Jermall Charlo wiped out Cornelius Bundrage; Adonis Stevenson took out Tommy Karpency easily; Errol Spence, Jr. broke down Chris Van Heerden; and Anthony Joshua mopped up Gary Cornish. There was a lot of boxing. Not all good, but it gives James Foley of Bad Left Hook and The Fight City's Patrick Connor a ton to discuss with author and filmmaker Brin-Jonathan Butler. As silly as 2015 has been for boxing and as frustrating it's been for many fans, there is still hope. The final four months or so of the year look more promising, starting with this weekend's match up between Abner Mares vs Leo Santa Cruz on ESPN, by Premier Boxing Champions. Not to be outdone, at least in the drama department, Shane Mosley is schedule to return after a more than 18-month layoff to face old foe Ricardo Mayorga on a Pay-Per-View show - if it doesn't get shut down by Don King first. Since Top Men took a week off, there's also a matter of Krzysztof Glowacki's highly entertaining upset win over reigning cruiserweight belt-holder Marco Huck to discuss. There is serious talk of it being the "Fight of the Year" thus far, and it's tough to argue at this point. Don't forget more random news, like updates on the Miguel Cotto vs Saul "Canelo" Alvarez ticket situation, and the same for Floyd Mayweather vs Andre Berto. There's an update for the Mayweather-Berto undercard, testing policy for Lucas Matthysse vs Viktor Postol, a new foe for Terence Crawford and more. Through it all, James Foley of Bad Left Hook and The Fight CIty's Patrick Connor will try to keep you laughing. Or at least feeling awkward. Thanks for tuning in!
