Alan meandered his way up to Memphis to sit down Nick Redmond. Nick is a member of Star and Micey... it is hard to define that further. You just have to see Star and MIcey. Nick and Al sat down to talk over the years, and Nick wasn't born with a guitar in hand. His family has a strong background in music but Nick was into gymnastics. In Nick's teenage years the guitar in the closet made him and his dad get back into playing guitar. Nick worked for a record label and searched Memphis for the next best thing. Nick took home a homemade CD by Joshua Andrew Cosby, and here comes Star and Micey. The conversation ends on song-writing and projections for things to come. Alan drove up to Memphis to meet Jeremy Stanfill. Jeremy grew up around music and quickly found his way into the Memphis music scene. Quick success was not best, but helped paved the way for him. Jeremy's success was waning but there was a new band 'Star and Micey' picking up steam. He joined the band and toured, but continually pursued his solo project. Alan and Jeremy dicussed the nightmares of music production, addiction, losing loved ones, being misunderstood, and getting back out to play. Jeremy's songwriting is refreshing, honest, and transparent. Sit down to hear Jeremy's story. Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/porch-talk/exclusive-content
Part 2 of Alan and Geoff talking about his musical background and Star & Micey. The story picks up with the first tour, Nick Redmond and Jeremy Stanfill are now in the band. The tour was filled with mistakes and mishaps, but the brotherhood was forming. Album releases came out when Star & Micey was representing their live shows differently. The guys kept pushing and eventually saw the cusp of what could be. They recorded with Thirty Tigers and got hooked up to play big festivals such as SxSW, Justin Timberlake was interested in working with them, and 'I Can't Wait' was playing everywhere. But there was something sitting on Star & Micey, holding them back. Catch the story of Star & Micey becoming a brotherhood of songwriters and a lifeboat.
