It moved towards Antistrophe, Caoimhe, and Nicky through the dark as something other than itself. A creature of guile and hunger, whose taste for life is well developed and whose limbs are the limbs of others. Meanwhile, amidst the revelers of the High Masque, the moonlit wing's adventurers mix and mingle. Will they try to puzzle their way through the rhyming door, or sate themselves on delicacies and dances instead of dungeoneering… This week on Perpetua: The Castle Eschatonica 05 Perpetua Guide [Community Addendum Part 03] What's up every-freakin-body. It's THEUNFORGIVENIII and I decided to pick up on Nei's slack. Maybe he'll see what a good job I'm doing and come back to try to one up me. Then the real rivalry will begin… Anyway, it's boss fight time. I made a few updates to Nei's format. I KNOW that he says he doesn't wanna get some specific spoilers in these enemy rundowns but I think that's pretty fuggin lazy. Maybe you can learn a few things from a real gamer, Nei. With Scream 2 in the foreground after certifying the series as a franchise, it would seem that everyone associated with the horror films had better things to do than come back for its (at the time) swan song. Specifically, star Neve Campbell and director Wes Craven. Campbell was working on Party of Five and a film called Drowning Mona. And Craven wanted to wade his way through the horror ghetto to do the Meryl Streep starring Music of the Heart. Writer Kevin Williamson submitted outlines, but he was also busy not only directing his first feature Teaching Mrs Tingle, but he was also doing a failed TV show called Wasteland. Enter writer Ehren Kruger, who the Weinsteins hired to flesh out Williamson's concepts. Though Kruger allegedly threw out these concepts and did a script that Craven was rewriting each day on the set. So once again we have a movie built on chaos. Does it rise above like before? Join Garrett, Matt, and Adam as they review Courtney Cox's hai…I mean, inclusion in this film, as well as a killer reveal Adam has no idea how to feel about. Does that warrant a good review?? Come back in the ensuing weeks as we lead up to a review of this year's Scream 7!

Scream Directed by Wes Craven Starring Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Skeet Ulrich Wes Craven re-invented and revitalised the slasher-horror genre with this modern horror classic, which manages to be funny, clever and scary, as a fright-masked knife maniac stalks high-school students in middle-class suburbia. Craven is happy to provide both tension and self-parody as the body count mounts - but the victims aren't always the ones you'd expect. Scream 2 Wes Craven Starring Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette Sydney (Neve Campbell) and tabloid reporter Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) survived the events of the first Scream, but their nightmare isn't over. When two college students are murdered at a sneak preview of Stab, a movie based on the events from the first film, it's clear a copycat killer is on the loose. Sydney and Gail, as well as fellow survivors Deputy Dewey (David Arquette) and Randy (Jamie Kennedy) have to find out who is behind this new murder spree, before they all end up dead. Scream 3 Directed by Wes Craven Starring Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette The last instalment in the 'Scream' trilogy is set in Hollywood, where 'Stab 3' is being shot, with Gale Weathers and Dwight Riley on set as advisors to Jennifer Jolie. Unfortunately, a killer decides to off the cast in the order of the screenplay and only 'Sid' Prescott, now in hiding until the killer tracks her down, can solve the riddle. Scream 4 Directed by Wes Craven Starring Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Courtney Cox, Neve Campbell It has been many years since the Ghostface Killer cut a deadly path through the town of Woodsboro. In order to get over the trauma of those horrific events, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has written a self-help book. She returns to Woodsboro for her book tour, and reconnects with old friends Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) and Sheriff Dewey (David Arquette). However, Sidney's arrival also sparks the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney and everyone she loves in danger. Scream 5 Directed by Tyler Gillett, Matt Bettinelli Olpin Starring Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrara, Jack Quaid, Mikey Madison, Neve Campbell Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, Calif., a new killer dons the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town's deadly past. Scream 6 Directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli Olpin Starring Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrara, Mason Gooding, Courtney Cox Four survivors of the Ghostface murders leave Woodsboro behind for a fresh start in New York City. However, they soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when a new killer embarks on a bloody rampage. Scream 7 Directed by Kevin Williamson Starring Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, Joel McHale When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, she must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.

As much as the first Scream lovingly poked the bear that was the 80s slasher genre, they played right into the same sensibilities those franchises did, as a sequel came out less than a year after the original was released to surprise success. It took a couple weeks to catch on. But once 1996's Scream gathered the best word of mouth since Pulp Fiction from a couple years before, it sure didn't take long for a sequel to get greenlit. Original writer Kevin Williamson, now the new hot writer on the block, was able to churn out a script, with original director Wes Craven back in the director's chair. But, in a story that will oft get repeated through this entire film series, problems started taking hold of the production. Not the least of which was something called the internet getting a hold of the shooting script and leaking who the original killers were supposed to be. With rapid rewrites and ever changing schedules, were Craven and company able to release a film amongst a crowded end of 1997 (which included a little film called Titanic) that proved to be at least watchable? Join Garrett, Matt, and Adam as they dissect Scream 2 and try to answer that question. As well as a whole host of others, including the question of whether Adam had actually seen this damn movie or not before this viewing.

We're in Cushing, Oklahoma with Austin and Heather Cravens of Big Creek Longhorns—a family outfit where muddy boots, kid chaos, and big-hearted Longhorns all share the same pasture. The Cravens walk us through their “long game” approach: pairing pedigrees with patience, focusing on structure and disposition, and letting time reveal which matings truly click. We talk daily rhythms (and the “did that really just happen?” moments), how the kids pitch in, and why faith, hard work, and humor keep the ranch running. It's a conversation about simple joys, resilient cattle, and building a program that lasts—one thoughtful cross at a time.Craven's Big Creek Longhorns: https://www.bigcreeklonghornsok.com/Send a text From the Pasture with Hired Hand:Hired Hand Websites (@hiredhandwebsites): https://hiredhandsoftware.comHired Hand Live (@hiredhandlive): https://hiredhandlive.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/hiredhandwebsites/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HiredHandSoftwareTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@hiredhandwebsitesNewsletter: https://www.hiredhandsoftware.com/resources/stay-informed

Before Scream made meta-horror mainstream, Wes Craven created something truly unique: a horror film where the actors played themselves, filmed in the real New Line Cinema offices, exploring what happens when fictional evil breaks into reality.Freddy Krueger had officially died in Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare in 1991, and from 1984 his character had evolved from terrifying villain to quipping and comedic, and New Line Cinema had already started merchandising the character. Realizing that maybe they had killed Freddy too soon, New Line wanted a way to resurrect him without actually resurrecting him. There was always something deeply unnerving about putting Krueger on a pedestal, and no-one thought it more than his original creator, Wes Craven… Wes Craven's New Nightmare cleverly blurs the line between fiction and reality, creating a unique meta-narrative, starring original final girl Heather Langenkamp as herself, focusing on her journey from horror star to mother and how that reflects the personal impact of the franchise on her fictional life. Craven specifically wanted to focus on how horror movies affect children, showcasing the blurred boundaries between protection and temptation. Despite its initial box office struggles, New Nightmare has gained a cult following, mostly in the wake of Wes Craven's next project, Scream, which took what New Nightmare had attempted and refined it. Wes Craven said that Scream was a movie for people who watch horror movies, and New Nightmare was a movie for people who make horror movies. Scream is credited for refreshing the slasher, but we all know New Nightmare is Wes Craven's real life meta masterpiece.I would love to hear your thoughts on Wes Craven's New Nightmare !Verbal Diorama is now an award-winning podcast! Forgotten Horror 7 kicks off with "Wes Craven's New Nightmare" (1994), the meta slasher that dared to blur the lines between fiction and reality. Both Mike Butler and Mike Field appreciate some of the ideas here—bringing Freddy Krueger into the “real” world, playing with Heather Langenkamp as herself, and giving Wes Craven and Robert Englund roles in their own nightmare. But as the Mikes discuss, the film doesn't quite go far enough with its meta concept. Instead, it feels like wasted potential: not enough scares, not enough exploration of Craven himself, and too few moments where the horror fully delivers. The Mikes also take a detour into the world of slashers at large, debating who their favorite killers are and where Freddy stands in the pantheon of horror icons. So sharpen your claws, flip the script, and join Forgotten Cinema as Forgotten Horror 7 gets underway!Who's your favorite classic horror film slasher?
