The landscape of Walt Disney World is shifting dramatically, with major transformations coming to every park. From Dinoland USA becoming a vibrant Central Americas-themed land featuring Encanto and Indiana Jones, to Tom Sawyer Island making way for a Cars attraction, these changes represent Disney's evolving approach to park experiences. We dive deep into what these transformations mean for the Disney experience, exploring the tension between nostalgic attractions and Disney's push toward more recognizable intellectual properties. The upcoming Villains Land behind Big Thunder Mountain promises thrilling new experiences without replacing existing attractions, while Hollywood Studios will soon feature a Monsters Inc land with an innovative suspended coaster based on the door conveyor system from the beloved film. These changes raise important questions: Is Disney losing some of its original magic by replacing unique Imagineering creations with movie tie-ins? Or is this evolution necessary to compete with Universal's Epic Universe and appeal to younger generations? We consider whether the Disney experience has improved or declined since 2019, discussing the loss of beloved perks like Magical Express and free FastPass while acknowledging the exciting new attractions on the horizon. We also share our upcoming plans to test the new Multi-Pass system during our next trip, estimating we'll spend around $500 extra for our family of four to access all premium ride options. Will the convenience justify the cost? Is the Free Dining package actually saving money when factoring in required add-ons like Park Hopper tickets? These practical considerations reflect the changing economics of a Disney vacation in today's landscape.Whether you're a Disney purist concerned about these changes or excited to experience the new attractions, this episode provides thoughtful perspective on what Walt Disney World's transformation means for different types of visitors. 11 Luxuries that Can Elevate Your Disney Travel Style at Walt Disney World

We all know that a Walt Disney World vacation is magical in its own right, but have you ever wanted to add a little extra style to your stay? Big and Small, 11 Ways You can Add Extra Magic to Your Next Disney VacationWhether it's your first time or your tenth time, you can elevate the style of your Disney World vacation by adding a little extra magic and style (with something for every budget).  The Top 11 Ways to Upscale Your Walt Disney World Vacation with Style Here are 11 easy ways to add a little extra style and flair to your Walt Disney World vacation, they're not all cheap, but there is something here for every price point and Disney travel budget.  Want to Do Your Walt Disney World in Style so that Everyone Feels Extra Special? Why not surprise your travel party with one or more of these 11 Disney travel style experiences? 1. Limo Service $$ Ever since Disney's Magical Express disappeared, guests have had to pay for their transportation to and from Orlando International Airport. A great way to elevate the style of your Walt Disney World vacation is to start at the beginning: with a limo service from the airport to your Disney resort hotel (and back again). You have to pay for transport anyway, so for approximately $200 round trip (give or take a little) you can ride in style and really have a great experience. 2. Stay in a Deluxe Disney Resort Hotel $$$$ - $$$$$ One of the easiest ways to elevate the style of your Disney vacation is to stay in a Disney Deluxe hotel close to your favorite Disney Park. There really is a noticeable difference between Disney Value Resorts, Moderate Resorts and Deluxe Resorts. From a more magical ambiance, to dining, amenities and park proximity, staying in a Disney Deluxe resort hotel can definitely elevate the style of your Disney World vacation. There are Deluxe Resorts at different price points as well, so consider this awesome surprise for your travel party, who will definitely feel they've upgraded their Disney style.  Warming: Please note that it may be very difficult to downgrade your Disney resort hotel category after experiencing a Disney Deluxe Resort.3. VIP Tour or Backstage Experience $$$ - $$$$$ A great way to do Disney vacation in style is with a VIP Tour or other backstage experience or tour. Not only will you feel extra special on any guided tour, but this is Disney Parks style in its finest form. I mean, you get a lanyard (and sometimes more), so that says traveling in style right there…right? There are many tours from which to choose (from the ultra-premium VIP tour, to more price-friendly park-themed tours), so be sure to check them out and book in advance as they can fill up quickly.4. Disney Club Level Accommodations $$$$$ Staying in a Disney World Deluxe Resort is one thing, but you can elevate that experience even further if you really want to go in style. By choosing a Club Level room at a Deluxe Resort, you'll open up a whole new world of upscale style – from Club Level Lounge offerings to private Club Level Concierge's – that will really put the style meter to a whole new level. 5. Lightning Lane Premier Pass $$$ If a VIP Tour is not in your budget, the next best way to add a similar style experience to your vacation is with a Lightning Lane Premier Pass. With this pass, you and your party can use the Lightning Lane for every single attraction in one park, one time each, for one day, without having to make any reservations. Sound great? It can be and it's a good way to do a Disney Park in style.  6. Disney Fireworks Cruise $$$  Don't feel like standing in crowds to watch fireworks or the nighttime show at Magic Kingdom or EPCOT? No problem, do it in style by booking a fireworks cruise experience. Boats can hold up to 10 guests and you are chartering the entire boat, so if you have less than 10 guests this can really feel like the ultimate in Disney style. 7. Grand Floridian Spa Experience $$-$$$ Nothing says going in style like a relaxing time at a spa and the ultimate spa experience at Walt Disney World is located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa (it's right in the name!). With an elegant Victorian style and a relaxing garden-inspired atmosphere, you can elevation your Disney vacation time with a spa experience that suits your style. There are even couple's offerings and something for your 14-17-year-olds if you they go with you. Relax and recharge in style after a day in the parks. 8. Stay in a Disney Deluxe Villa $$$$ - $$$$$ While a Disney Deluxe Resort is a worthy style elevation, you can take it in another direction by booking a Disney Deluxe Villa. With a Deluxe Villa, you'll get all of the amenities of the Deluxe Resort, but your room (studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom or three-bedroom) will be more like a vacation villa or condo than a hotel room. Relax in style with your own kitchen/kitchenette, dining area, laundry facilities and more. Make your Walt Disney World vacation a villa vacation (and you don't need to be a Disney Vacation Club member to book one). 9. Create Your Own Disney Popcorn Mix $  Want to go in style with your snacking? Who needs the same old snacks that any Disney guest can buy when you can custom create your very own Disney popcorn? This is a fun and inexpensive way to elevate your vacation snacking style. You can find this unique experience at the Kernel Kitchen in Magic Kingdom Park (where the old hat shop used to be in Town Square). 10. Capture Your Moment $$ Photo memories from Walt Disney World are classic, but you can take your in-park photo experience to the next level by booking a Capture Your Moment photos session in your favorite park. You'll definitely feel special during this experience and you'll come away with lifelong photo memories and a magical time! Search “Capture Your Moment” on the Disney World website. 11. Aerophile Hot Air Balloon Ride, Disney Springs $ If you want to elevate the style of your Walt Disney World vacation literally, then a hot air balloon ride at Disney Springs is definitely worth it. This is super fun on clear days and at night (if you time it with fireworks, you're in for an extra special treat), as you get some amazing views and photos from 400 feet in the air. Instead of just watching the Aerophile balloon soar over Disney Springs, why not surprise your group with an experience they'll never forget. The balloon holds 29 people, but there are times when it's not full to capacity, which makes it even more magical. Definitely a unique way to experience the world in style.Shop at 1923 Main StreetThank you for listening to the Disney Travel Style Podcast at 1923MainStreet.com.Shop unique and original Disney-inspired clothing, including t-shirts, sweatshirt, hoodies, dresses, swimwear and more at 1923 Main Street.Follow along on

Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney. This week Disney Cruise Line released some special voyages for late 2025, early 2026. Plus Disneyland made an announcement about the return of a fan favorite Holiday overlay. It seems like nowadays that a lot of people are talking about how Disney parks have lost some of their magic.  But is that really true? We're on the case to get to the bottom of this question. Sure, there is a lot of evidence that the magic is gone - from the loss of free FastPass and Magical Express to the increased complexity of navigating a Disney Vacation - but all of those criticisms center around one place, Walt Disney World. So we're here to tell you that the Disney magic is alive and well, you're just looking in the wrong place. Submit a question/topic for us to discuss on a future episode. Disney World is expensive. But just HOW expensive? According to CNN, the cost of a Disney vacation is at a record high. Dining options have seen significant price changes, with prix fixe menus becoming more common and individual item prices rising. The pandemic's aftermath saw many restaurants shift to more expensive dining formats. Additionally, travel-related costs such as gas, rental cars, and airfare have surged, further adding to the vacation expense. The discontinuation of Disney's Magical Express has also increased transportation costs for guests traveling to and from the airport. Our goal is to help you plan your dream Disney World vacation, and that all starts right here. This episode will walk you through planning a trip in 7 easy steps. After that, we'll go through some of the other important information you'll need to know before you go.  Consider this a Cliff Notes version for getting started (or even for getting reacquainted) with Disney vacation planning.   The past few years have brought many changes – some of which are fairly significant. Here are the ones that are the most important for you to be aware of: FastPass+ service is out and Genie+ is in Extra Magic Hours (EMHs) have been replaced with a new program called “Early Theme Park Entry“ Extended Evening Theme Park Hours have been added – but only for onsite guests at Deluxe and Deluxe Villa resorts Reservations are required to visit the parks Disney's Magical Express has been discontinued (no more free rides between the airport and your Disney Resort) Park hopping can only be done after 2 PM Advanced Dining Reservations are made at 60 days out now (instead of 180 days) Disney Dining Plan is not currently being sold (although Disney has confirmed it will be back sometime in the future) Our best advice is to make sure you do not assume that everything is the same – because it isn't.   This episode is brought to you by BetterHelp. What followed was a shifting pattern of yearly migrations, as locals in the most popular beach towns got fed up with the marauding hordes of festive college kids and chased them to the next unfortunate stretch of sand.  When the collegiate crowd leaves town, the more welcome wave of family travelers always follows in their wake, and Spring Break has become a major yearly travel event, not only in beach resort towns of America's Atlantic coast, but nationwide and even increasingly internationally. Get ready for the news and bring your own punchlines,it's time to hit the trail with the Gold Key Adventurers Society!    News: Disney's Magical Express and Extra Magic Hours at Walt Disney World Resort to be retired http://bit.ly/EMHRetired http://bit.ly/DMERetire2022 Paris to become even more beautiful with Champs Elysees refurb http://bit.ly/ChampsElyseesRefurb Harbin, China Ice and Snow Festival http://bit.ly/HarbinSnowFestChina Great Boston Molasses Flood, Courtesy of Atlas Obscura http://bit.ly/MolassesAO Coober Pedy, Australia's underground opal mining town, courtesy of Atlas Obscura http://bit.ly/CooberPedyAO   That's right Dan. Courtesy of ThemeParkProfessor.com, first we have a report that Disney's Magical Express shuttle service will be retired starting January 1, 2022. Here's Disney's official statement: ““Vacationers have more options to choose from than ever for transportation, including ride-share services that save time and offer more flexibility to go where they want, when they want. In light of this shift, when Disney Resort hotel bookings open for stays in 2022, we will no longer offer Disney's Magical Express service for airport transportation, starting with arrivals Jan. 1, 2022. We will continue to operate the service for new and existing reservations made at Disney Resort hotels for arrivals throughout 2021. Additionally, complimentary transportation options – such as buses, monorails and Disney Skyliner – will continue to be available within Walt Disney World Resort for Disney Resort hotel guests, including to and from all four theme parks.”- Disney Parks”   Roger Chapin, a spokesperson for Mears transportation, the company that provides the buses for Disney's Magical Express told Orlando's Spectrum News that ““Walt Disney made us aware of their decision. While we are disappointed Disney will no longer offer this service, we intend to continue offering transportation services between the airport and all area theme parks and hotels to meet the demand of our visitors now and in the future.”   In other Walt Disney World news, Extra Magic Hours have officially been retired at the Florida theme parks. In a statement, Disney reps said “Disney Resort hotel guests and guests of other select hotels will be able to enjoy more fun with 30-minute early entry to ANY theme park, EVERY day. It'll be a great way to get a jump start on your Disney day, no matter the day! he new early theme park entry benefit helps us better spread visitation across all four theme parks, while providing added flexibility by giving guests extra early park time on each day of their vacation and in the park of their choosing. Please note that guests need valid admission and a park reservation made via the Disney Park Pass system to enter a theme park.”   While it sounds like these are monumental losses to the Disney experience,  it's really not all that bad, and there's still a world of reasons why staying on site at a Disney resort hotel is a great value. There's a lot to be said for staying inside the “Disney bubble”, where you don't have to leave the magic when you're done playing in the parks. Transportation between hotels and the theme parks is much more convenient with Disney's complimentary internal transportation system, and makes it easy to take a mid day break when the sun is hottest and the parks are most crowded. The resort hotels themselves have a ton of great options for dining and activities to keep you busy and entertained, including biking, fishing, great pools, kids activities, painting and craft opportunities, tours, movies under the stars and in the pools, world class food and beverage options, you get the point.    While Disney's Magical Express will be missed for its value and convenience, there's still great options for getting to your hotel if you don't want to rent a car. While there's not a lot of details yet, as I mentioned Mears appears to be planning some sort of shuttle service to the resorts. You can also get a lyft or uber from the airport for a reasonable rate. The Brightline Rail system connecting Orlando International Airport to Disney Springs is still slated to open in 2023. Better yet, you can let someone else worry about transportation for you- your friendly travel planner at Key to the World Travel can help book a car service to and from the airport for you to make sure that you don't miss any details and everything goes smoothly.  As always, a huge thank you to our sponsor, Key to the World Travel.
