Justine Rima is a an actress who prior to COVID got to take one of the most magical shows on the road. Just shy of theatre closing, Rima was on the national tour of the Broadway musical, Finding Neverland where she played Wendy. The story of the show is all about the origin of Peter Pan and how it got to capture the hearts of people everywhere. Prior to being on the road Finding Neverland was a film starring, Johnny Depp and originally starred Kelsey Grammer, Matthew Morrison and Teal Wicks (Season 1) on Broadway. It's a bird! It's a plane! It's an elfin asshole with a knife! It's Peter Pan! Or specifically, in this case, Peter Darling by Austin Chant, a delightful romance novel where Peter leaves his identity as Wendy Darling behind to go to Neverland and have a rivalmance with Captain Hook. Exquisite. We discuss the difficulty in adapting challenging (read: rancid) source material, how the original canon traps Wendy in hell, and our ideal casting for James Hook. Despite Cyrus's efforts to the contrary, about a quarter of this episode is dedicated to discussing the 2014 NBC live musical Peter Pan, somehow. Spoiler warning, it's not a good musical.

This week we're talking about record-breaking news for a crowd-favorite film, a movie about the beanie babies craze, and the importance of holding onto captured moments. I'm also reflecting on missing being a kid and understanding the impulse to find directions to Neverland. Before George Lucas launched the Star Wars Universe in 1977, he directed the coming-of-age comedy-drama American Graffiti. Produced by Francis Ford Coppola, the film revolves around various early rock ‘n' roll cultures that helped define a generation. Gearheads often swoon for this memorable film as it features plenty of gorgeous hot rods that any collector would love to have in their garage.American Graffiti is written by Willard Huyck, Gloria Katz, and Lucas and features an eclectic cast of young actors, including Richard Dreyfus, Ron Howard, Paul Le Mat, Harrison Ford, Charles Martin Smith, Cindy Williams, Candy Clark, Suzanne Somers, Kathleen Quinlan, Bo Hopkins, Wolfman Jack, and more.The film takes audiences back to 1962 when teenagers owned the night, and Johnny Law was no match for a group of miscreants looking to cause mischief. Our Star Wars month celebration continues with the 40th anniversary of RETURN OF THE JEDI! Authors Justin Berger and Jamie Benning share details of their NEW book, Return of the Jedi Unauthorized Timeline, out June 1st.    We (Richard and Sarah) then recap Comic-Con Revolution: our Star Wars Trivia panel, book sales, and meeting TIMOTHY ZAHN.    Then it's on to Star Wars news this past week, which unfortunately included sad events. Ray Stevenson passed away on Sunday May 21.
