Hola!I recently met with Don Hutchison, a miner's son from Gateshead whose loyalties lay north of the border. In the first part of this fascinating interview, Don describes how his formative years playing in the local church hall led to a contract with Hartlepool and soon Liverpool. Don talks about his midfield heroes, including Jan Molby and Patrick Vieria, and how he played without fear and with 360-degree vision. The episodes ends with Don describing scoring the winner for Scotland against England at Wembley, a moment that reduced his tough father to tears.I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. Welcome to Episode 125 of the NYCFC Nation Podcast: This week, after the match against FC Dalllas, New York City FC played against Real Salt Lake. It was simply an atrocious game for NYC. New York City lost to a score of 2-1 with a lineup that scratched many fans heads. Even more so, Patrick Vieria also took the blame on the loss and mainly for his starting eleven yet this isn't the first time Patrick fools around with the lineup. After beating the dead horse on the loss we look into Orlando City SC match on Sunday. Yeah...we aren't optimistic with this match-up because NY has yet to defeat Orlando this season. Martin Bihl (@MartinBihl) joins us on this episode of the NYCFC Nation Podcast to explain (as best we can) what happened to New York City FC on Saturday at RFK Stadium against D.C. United. Was it the lineup, formation or the field conditions? One thing we can all agree on was the mood in the locker room after the match. Chris P and Martin discuss their views on the match, individual player performances and whether or not this game will force Patrick Vieria to make changes to the starting 11. We wrap up the episode peeking into NYC's next match on Friday against the Philadelphia Union and reminding everyone about the NYCFC Academy Match on April 22nd.
