On today's episode of the Daily Red Dave recapped Liverpool's 3-1 win over Wolves and focused on the tactical changes made by Jurgen Klopp that turned things around after a poor first half. With the Reds trailing 1-0 at half time, having been completely outplayed by the home side, Klopp made changes to not just the personnel but also the shape and tactical approach.By switching from a faltering 4-3-3 to a 4-2-3-1, and then to a 4-4-2 after the Reds had drawn level and Klopp had made two more substitutions, Liverpool were able to nullify the Wolves threat and dominate the game. Crucial to this was the move to get Joe Gomez and Andy Robertson tight to their men having allowed the Wolves wingers too much space in the first half.Dave also ponders the potential starting 11 for LASK on Thursday, as well as taking a look at what's new on the main Liverpool fansites. Gregor Robertson is joined by Alyson Rudd, Tony Cascarino and Martin Hardy in The Times office in London.Liverpool's Darwin Núñez came off the bench to score twice late on for ten-man Liverpool against Newcastle United in a modern classic at St James's Park. The Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp ranked the victory among the most special of his career, but just how big a missed opportunity was this for Newcastle?Manchester United also produced a stirring comeback, after going 2-0 down in the opening four minutes against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford. But has Old Trafford lost its fear factor?Following a series of high-profile stories involving the mistreatment of women by men working in football, including the recent suspension by Fifa of the Spanish Football Federation's President Luis Rubiales, we ask: is football, as an industry, failing women? There was more late drama at the Emirates as Arsenal conceded an 87th minute equaliser against ten-man Fulham. The Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, is trying to evolve last season's title challengers, but does he need to? And Manchester City took advantage to go top of the table with a late winner at Sheffield United, much to the relief of Erling Haaland — and Kyle Walker.Following impressive wins for West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur, inspired by two new recruits familiar to the Premier League, could the relatively unheralded signings of James Ward-Prowse and James Maddison respectively be the summer's most inspired transfers? Finally, after Joachim Andersen equalised for Crystal Palace with what can only be described as a slide tackle through the legs of the Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken, Tony Cascarino talks us through a goal he scored for Aston Villa that was so bad it won an award.Get more of The Times and The Sunday Times for less than £1 a day. Kelly Cates presents Super Sunday from St. James' Park alongside Jamie Carragher, Shay Given, and Andros Townsend, and they discussed and analysed the major talking points from Liverpool's dramatic 2-1 win against Newcastle which was delivered by two late goals from substitute Darwin Nunez. The visitors' victory was made even more impressive as they played the majority of the game with ten players after Virgil Van Dijk was dismissed shortly after Anthony Gordon gave the hosts the lead. Carragher labelled the victory as one of Jurgen Klopp's best victories as a manager. Van Dijk's red card wasn't the only moment of controversy as Trent Alexander-Arnold was involved in two separate incidents early in the first half but avoided a second yellow card. Both Carra and Given agreed that the full-back should have been sent off.Carragher also said Liverpool can challenge Manchester City this season and be their biggest rivals again but they need to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes on Friday. Speaking with Pat Davison after the match, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe felt the match could have been more comfortable had his players been more ruthless in front of goal, whilst Jurgen Klopp said that the result was even harder than their famous 4-0 home win over Barcelona in 2019, that saw them overturn a three-goal deficit on aggregate to reach the Champions League final.
Ben Haines and Nedum Onuoha are joined by Aston Villa defender Rachel Corsie and The Athletic's Adam Crafton to review Liverpool's stunning comeback victory against Newcastle United at St James' Park. Kevin grew up in a working class family in the UK and went to an all boys grammar school. He struggled with his weight as a child which he feels made him tougher and more determined to prove people wrong. Kevin started his career working in retail at Vodafone. He enjoyed the customer interactions and being able to compete on sales targets. He was ambitious and wanted to earn more, so he set his sights on becoming a corporate account manager. Early inspirations for Kevin were two managers he had at Vodafone - Karen Halford who coached and enabled him, and Sarah Sanders who was his cheerleader. More recently Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool FC inspires him as a leader who creates an environment for people to excel. Kevin is proud of the sales team he has built from just two people to what it is today. He gets joy from seeing others succeed rather than just his own achievements. The biggest challenge he faces currently is keeping his team motivated during tougher economic conditions. He believes AI should be used to enable salespeople, not replace them. It can help summarize customer information and allow reps to focus more on the human side of selling. If Kevin won the lottery, he would travel the world with his wife. Key things for him are spending time with family, music and great food.
