Ligue 1 returned from the international break with the marquee fixture of the season, Paris Saint-Germain at Olympique de Marseille, and as usual, there were plenty of fireworks.On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Ethan from PSG Fan Club Boise and long-time contributor Marc Damon to discuss PSG's 2-0 win over Marseille at the Orange Vélodrome. We also look ahead to Wednesday's clash against Stade Rennais in the Coupe de France and discuss the lead-up to the match against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.We begin with Luis Enrique's starting lineup. Considering the injuries, did PSG play its best starting lineup possible? We also discuss Ousmane Dembélé's role as a false nine.Late in the first half, Lucas Beraldo was sent off with a straight red after VAR took a closer look at his challenge on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. In this episodes we look into Le Classique against Marseille and how PSG beat them well and truly with 10 players on the pitch for 50 minutes out of 90 and all this in front of 60 000 fuming fans. The red card involved some drama as you would imagine and we look into it all. After the match Kylian Mbappé posted a photograph of himself solemnly walking with a captain's armband in his hand in Marseille rain at the Stade de Velodrome. A very melancholic and dramatic image no doubt, but how do we read it while his team mates were celebrating the excellent victory over the arch-rivals. PSG women have made their way to the Champions League semi-finals and they will play against their domestic rivals Lyon there. Both teams are still alive in all competitions. Following their triumph over Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League last Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain looked to climb the Ligue 1 ladder as a very poor Olympique de Marseille side paid a visit to the French capital.On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Ethan of PSG Fan Club Boise to discuss PSG's 4-0 win over Marseille. We break down Luis Enrique's starting lineup, breakout performances, Kylian Mbappé's injury, and look ahead to the next couple of matches on the fixture list.Up first, it's all about Le Classique. Luis Enrique went with an unconventional starting lineup, with three defenders and newcomer Bradley Barcola playing on the left flank behind Mbappé. We discuss the manager's flexibility, Barcola's performance, and how PSG's rebuilt defense is still learning to play together.PSG scored early and often against Marseille, with Achraf Hakimi kicking this off in the eighth minute with a brilliant free kick. We discuss his complete turnaround in recent weeks and how Manuel Ugarte's defensive prowess allows Hakimi to get forward and join the PSG attack.Mbappé won the free kick that led to Hakimi's goal, and while the Frenchman tried to continue, he eventually left the match in the first half with an ankle injury. We discuss the impact of the injury and whether Mbappé should feature against Clermont Foot before PSG travels to Newcastle United on October 4, for a big Champions League match.Finally, we discuss PSG's other two goalscorers, Randal Kolo Muani and Gonçalo Ramos.
