Oh my lord do we have a special episode for you - Episode 152 features the LEGENDARY DJ/Producer Duo @Gettoblaster ! I had so much fun sitting down with Zach and Paul and getting their full story. These guys have been in the game for years and are some of the most respected guys in the house music world. It was truly an honor to have them on the show - in episode 152 we discussed: -Chicago and Detroit's musical influence on a global scale: Paul hails from Chi-town and Zach is from D-Town and they both have deep rooted understandings and appreciation for the role that these two incredible cities have on electronic music. We had an amazing discussion on how Chicago house music and Detroit techno have created a culture that has spread across the globe -The journey of Gettoblaster: I learned very quickly that no one tells a story or even has stories like these guys. Gettoblaster was formed in 2014 with one goal in mind: to make an impact like no group has done before... I'll let them tell you the rest :) -Gettoblaster's discography: Not even sure where to start here... they've released well over 100 tracks (including originals, remixes, and collabs) on some of the biggest labels in the world like Defected, Dirtybird, Confession, Psycho Disco, Basement Leak and more. They've also collaborated with some of the most influential OG's in house music like Chip-E, Steve "Silk" Hurley, and DJ Deeon - oh yeah did I mention they have their own label called "We Jack"? -Staying true to your sound: Paul and Zach's passion for music is truly inspiring. They are influenced by tons of various genres and draw inspiration from people and places you would never think of. It's pretty simple - they make the music they love and constantly go outside the box but still maintain that "Gettoblaster" sound This was a really special interview for many reasons - it was filled with entertaining and raunchy stories, valuable pieces of advice, and some of the realest conversations I've had yet on #SITB. VNSSA has always had a passion for music, even as a child. The Newport Beach native now calls Los Angeles home, and has immersed herself into the local electronic scene. Although Santa never gave her the turntables she wanted at a young age, she soon found herself drumming in local rock and indie rock bands. From there she learned to DJ, and started performing at local clubs and house parties. VNSSA's debut single was released in early 2018 on House of Hustle Records and since, she has released multiple EP’s and singles on labels such as Dirtybird, Dim Man, Sweat It Out, Psycho Disco, Box of Cats, Tons & Tons, Strangelove Recordings, and many more, including a Beatport #1 single “Word”, with Walker & Royce, on Black Book Records/ HotBoi. We got a rising young talent out of Chicago this week bring some straight fire with this week's mix. John Summit has been releasing music for a very short time, only about about a year and a half and has gathered the attention of major label owners Mark Knight, Claude Von Stroke, Gene Farris and Lee Foss who have all signed his tracks to their labels. You can also find his music on some of our other favorite labels Country Club Disco, Psycho Disco!, Audiophile Recordings and a few others as well. He can found doing his thing in Chicago's legendary Spybar along with the Mid & Soundbar. This is Draw The Line Radio Show presented by Jacki-e, featuring my mix in the 1st hr composed entirely of music made by women and then, for the 2nd hr, I hand the decks over to a female DJ.
