Former Department of Justice pardon attorney Liz Oyer describes being pulled out of a meeting, told to pack up her belongings, and walked out by security the same day. Her offense, she said, was refusing to recommend that the attorney general restore gun rights to a politically connected celebrity without the information she believed was necessary to make that judgment safely. “Once you compromise your integrity, you cannot get it back,” she said. That moment sets the tone for a candid conversation about what it means to serve inside the Department of Justice, and what happens when career lawyers believe the institution they devoted themselves to has changed. Moderated by Stanford Law professor Pam Karlan, this episode brings together Oyer, former Assistant U.S. Attorney Greg Rosen, and former DOJ civil rights lawyer Stacey Young for a discussion of public service, prosecutorial independence, clemency, civil rights, professional ethics, and the difficult questions of when to stay, when to leave, and when to speak out. The panel, recorded at a live law school event and presented by the Deborah L. Rhode Center on the Legal Profession and the Neukom Center for the Rule of Law, offers a close look at the professional obligations of government lawyers from people who spent years doing the work: Rosen supervising more than 1,000 prosecutions stemming from January 6; Oyer overseeing the federal pardon process and thousands of clemency petitions; and Young working in the Civil Rights Division while also founding the DOJ Gender Equality Network. Karlan, herself a former DOJ official, draws out the deeper questions behind their stories. Where Do We Draw the Line? Love Beyond the Lines We know it's important to speak and act from principle and to set clear boundaries; but how do we balance that with compassion, empathy, humility, and forgiveness? Scripture is full of rigid rules and regulations, often coming with harsh consequences—Yet Jesus teaches and models unconditional love, awesome compassion, deep understanding and forgiveness! How can we hold both of these truths simultaneously and not draw fuzzy lines? What does it look like to love beyond the lines—after the line has been crossed? “This they said, tempting him, that they might have reason to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.” (John 8:6) with Alan Cowley 5/10/26 If you enjoyed this episode, be sure to Subscribe and review our podcast wherever you get your podcasts. Tennessee Republicans moved decisively to redraw congressional maps, and the left completely lost its mind. Todd breaks down why Tennessee leaders acted while Indiana Republicans backed away, what redistricting really means for the political future of America, and why the radical left's response reveals exactly what conservatives are up against. From chaos on the Tennessee House floor to the broader fight over constitutional government, free markets, border security, and truth itself, this episode connects the dots between political power and the battle for America's future. Plus, Todd reacts to Mark Hamill's disturbing anti-Trump social media post and explains why conservatives must stop being intimidated by leftist outrage.

How much mistreatment is too much? When your boundaries are violated over and over again, there will be a point where you have none and the sky will be the limit on someone else's hurtful and controlling behaviors.

When Do We Draw the Line? It's not easy to know when to draw the line. When should we speak up, and when is silence wiser? When do we take a stand, and when do we simply listen? When do we stay fully engaged in a relationship, and when is it time to step back? There are no simple answers. But God does give us tools to help us navigate a way forward. 5/3/26 If you enjoyed this episode, be sure to Subscribe and review our podcast wherever you get your podcasts. The UCP's decision to reject a bi-partisan commission's report and order a do-over of riding maps has ignited a firestorm over the usually sleepy issue of electoral boundaries. Is this meddling or giving rural Alberta fair representation?Meanwhile, a separatist group is in court to avoid opening its books, Premier Danielle Smith's new website is pushing her own referendum questions, and many clicks are going to a series of AI “slopaganda” online videos that stoke worries about foreign interference. And do we have to change the clocks to squeeze in a discussion about Alberta's move to permanent daylight time?West of Centre guest host Jason Markusoff speaks with three Alberta-based journalists: Alex Boyd from the Toronto Star, Falice Chin from the Hub and Matthew Scace from the Globe and Mail.Host: Jason MarkusoffGuests: Alex Boyd, Falice Chin, Matthew ScaceProducer: Diane Yanko
Kim St. Onge takes on a big question with real everyday impact, how far should government go in protecting people from themselves? Using the UK's proposed lifetime cigarette ban as a starting point, Kim breaks down where public health ends and personal freedom begins. From seatbelt laws and soda taxes to vaping, marijuana, and social pressure, the conversation explores what actually changes behavior and what crosses the line.
In this episode, I sat down with my cohost Craig Smith to break down my weekend at a local bodybuilding show and everything it brought up for me. We talked about how insane it is what the human body can achieve at that level—but also how misunderstood it is. A lot of people think you can just take steroids and look like that, and that's just not reality. It takes years of discipline, precision, and a level of commitment most people aren't willing to touch. That led into a bigger realization for me: I don't think I'll ever step on stage again. Not because I can't—but because I fully understand the level of sacrifice required, and I'm clear that it's not a price I'm willing to pay anymore. From there, we dove deep into the concept of sacrifice—what it actually means, how it scales with the size of your goals, and how most people say they want something without being honest about what it's going to cost them. At the end of the day, the conversation really came down to this: if you want something meaningful, it's going to require real trade-offs. And if you're not willing to make those sacrifices, you don't actually want the goal—you just like the idea of it. Send us Fan MailOn April 14, 1772, in Weare, New Hampshire, a group of colonial men violently resisted British officers enforcing the Crown's pine tree laws. This week on the Great Drive Debate, we're stepping into a conversation that's as sensitive as it is real: mothers and their sons, where do we draw the line? Because for many, that bond is unbreakable. It's built on love, sacrifice, and years of support. However, at some point, every son grows up, builds his own life, his own responsibilities, his own financial reality, and that's where things can get complicated. We asked you: is it justified for mothers to expect ongoing financial support from their sons, even when he's building his own family? Here's what you had to say...

Venting used to just be what friends did. Now it feels like a social minefield; and we can't seem to agree on whether it's a sign of closeness or a boundary violation. You've probably caught yourself mid-vent wondering, am I being too much right now? Or maybe you're on the other side, nodding along while silently drowning in your friend's update about her boss for the fourth time this month.Danielle sits down with licensed therapist Amanda White, the voice behind @therapyforwomen and co-host of the Nuance Needed podcast, to break down what's actually happening when we vent, when it tips into co-rumination or trauma dumping, and why we've gotten so weird about a friendship behavior that used to be second nature. If you've ever wondered whether you're allowed to bring your hard stuff to your friends anymore, this one's for you.
In this episode of The Happily Ever After Divorce® Podcast, Sara Khaki and Shawna Woods explore a subtle but powerful distinction that can shape the health of any relationship: the difference between privacy and secrecy. While many people believe transparency means sharing everything, Sara and Shawna explain why healthy relationships still require space for individuality, personal reflection, and personal boundaries. They discuss what privacy versus secrecy can look like in relationships, how the line between the two is often more nuanced than people realize, and why couples need to have intentional conversations about where that boundary exists for them. The episode explores how trust, communication, and personal autonomy all play a role in determining when something is healthy privacy—and when it becomes secrecy that can damage a relationship. For more divorce education, resources, and guidance from the team at Atlanta Divorce Law Group, visit https://atlantadivorcelawgroup.com.

In this episode, Carl returns to his “How to Plan” series and introduces the next step: drawing the line. After clarifying purpose, defining goals, and understanding current reality, it's time to build the plan—the map from here to there. But Carl reminds us of a crucial paradox: Every plan is wrong; the only question is how. Like a flight plan or a backcountry route, the value isn't in perfect prediction—it's in creating a baseline to adjust from. A plan is a model of an expected future reality, something to hold with strong conviction and loose hands. Because the real magic often lives in what doesn't go according to plan.Want more from Carl? In today's episode of Legal Marketing Minutes, I want to bring something to your attention that is getting a lot of media attention right now. It involves a new agentic AI app originally known as Clawdbot, now Moltbot (see edit below), and I explain why legal and business professionals need to be extremely cautious about tools like this. This episode is especially relevant for lawyers, legal marketing and business development professionals, and other law firm leaders who are trying to understand where agentic AI fits, and where it does not, in professional services environments. This tool is not just another AI chat interface. It is an open-source, agentic AI assistant designed to run locally and take actions across systems using large language models such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot, and others. In this episode, I cover: What makes agentic AI different from traditional generative AI tools Why open source does not automatically mean low risk How agentic AI changes the risk profile around confidentiality, accuracy, and supervision Why I'm drawing a clear line right now for legal professionals And what I recommend you focus on instead as you build AI discernment I also reference a recent LinkedIn conversation and explain why issues such as prompt injection, rogue actions, and the release of confidential client or matter information are not theoretical concerns, but real professional responsibility issues. Edit for Breaking News: Clawdbot → Moltbot rebrand and scam activity Since recording this episode, the Clawdbot project has rebranded to Moltbot following a naming conflict. What happened next is a real-world example of the risks discussed in this episode. Within seconds of the rename, scammers reportedly grabbed look-alike handles and began promoting fake crypto tokens tied to the project's name. The creator publicly warned that any "Clawdbot" or "Moltbot" coin was not legitimate and urged followers not to buy. This is exactly the kind of brand, trust, and reputational risk that emerges when open-source projects, AI tools, and social platforms collide at speed. Separately, security researchers have highlighted risks when agentic tools are deployed with publicly exposed control panels, including potential exposure of credentials and sensitive data. If you are experimenting with agentic tooling, treat it like production infrastructure: lock it down, assume attackers are watching, and do not expose admin interfaces to the public internet. I also reference a recent LinkedIn conversation I had about Clawdbot and explain why issues such as prompt injection, rogue actions, and the release of confidential client or matter information are not theoretical concerns, but real professional responsibility issues. If you listened to Episode 41 of Legal Marketing Moments, this episode is the real-world follow-up. EP. 41 can be found here: https://www.myrlandmarketing.com/podcasts/legalmarketingminutes/ If you're in a place where you can leave a comment, I'd love to hear from you. If not, feel free to email me at nancy@myrlandmarketing.com. Thanks for spending a few of your Legal Marketing Minutes with me.

This is about more than protecting your brand. It's about protecting your soul.In this episode, you'll discover:How to identify the real issue—is it about the person or the message you're being asked to support?A biblical framework for conviction-led decisions that keep you aligned without being self-righteous.How to build a business that shines light in a dark world—one boundary, one conversation, one choice at a time.If you've ever felt torn between serving everyone and staying faithful, this conversation will challenge you to lead boldly—and remind you that obedience is never bad for business. If this episode stirred something in you, it's time to take the next step. Send us a textIn this episode of The Public Square on the Pursuing Faith Network, Mike and Iggy sit down for a challenging and thoughtful conversation about faith, culture, and the direction Christianity is heading. As Christian events continue to grow outside traditional church spaces, important questions begin to surface about influence, intention, and what we're teaching the next generation. The discussion is respectful but honest, exploring where Christians may need to pause, reflect, and examine whether certain paths are drawing people closer to Christ — or slowly conforming to the patterns of the world. Personal experiences, hard questions, and surprising perspectives make this a conversation that doesn't offer easy answers, but invites deeper thought. This is one of those episodes that will challenge how you see Christian culture today — and where it may be headed.Support the show

But it's not just congressional Democrats on offense, as his own family is blasting him as an “embarrassment.” Victor Davis Hanson breaks down the Kennedy family's hypocrisy—especially considering their silence on Ted Kennedy's Chappaquiddick scandal and JFK's infidelities—on today's episode of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words.” “ This is the irony. What is an embarrassment to the Kennedy family was not Bobby Jr. working for Donald Trump. It really wasn't. It was Ted Kennedy in 1969: a U.S. senator driving off a bridge with Mary Jo Kopechne, allowing her to drown in the car, and then for 24 hours, trying to fabricate a narrative that was completely a lie so he could get out of responsibility. And then using the Kennedy money and leverage in Massachusetts to get off with this, with no criminal exposure at all. A woman was killed. And yet, no one—none of the Kennedys said that he was a predator or he embarrassed them. “ You know what else is an embarrassment right now that Caroline Kennedy should be worried about? Her son, Jack Schlossberg. What has he done? He gets on social media, he made fun of Melania Trump's voice the other day and tried to wear a wig and ridicule her.”
