The penultimate episode of each season is typically cataclysmic and, being the final season, S8E5 really took this trend and ran with it. While this will likely prove to be one of the most divisive and, to some, unforgivable episodes, it was nothing if not surprising. I don’t wanna get into it here, but the condensed nature of this season is having some serious repercussions. Dany is betrayed once again, the Northern army camps outside King’s Landing, Tyrion pleads for one last chance at peace, Arya and the Hound infiltrate the capital, the Lannister brother share a solemn farewell, Qyburn tries to protect his Queen, the Iron Fleet burns in Blackwater Bay, The Hound finally faces his fraternal nemesis (foe if you’re into alliteration), the Lannister army surrenders to the invaders, and the bells of King’s Landing ring desperately for salvation, before all hell breaks loose… Arya struggles to survive the calamity, the Northern army gives in to their bloodlust, a wounded Jaime comforts Cersei, while the city without honour crumbles, as Daenerys Targaryen, first of her name, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons, burns them all.

The gang discusses awkward comments, Fat Bottom Betty Cigars and an interesting week at Wrigley Field, as Addison Russell comes back and makes some sensitive remarks and is booed by the fans while almost simultaneously a fan is given a lifetime ban from the ballpark for allegedly flashing a white power symbol behind Doug Glanville, plus some insider insight as Hass actually knows the person who was given the ban.  Then we spoil the heck out of S8 E5 of Game of Thrones, where everyone dies and Khalissi was listening to some DMX and went mad queen.

Talking Through Some Guy On this episode of The Walking Dead Talk Through, we discuss Season 8, Episode 4 of The Walking Dead, which is titled Some Guy, and the post-Ruthie period of this podcast begins. For the rest of this half-season, through Episode 8 in December, TWDTT will feature a core of rotating guest hosts. For this episode, I am joined by Allison Fike of The Dead Connection, and long-time listener, Malika Tazi! I think you’ll agree that both Allie and Malika were great discussing this episode! Ezekiel went through a lot!!! Carol got her groove back!!! SPOILER!!! In this episode, King Ezekiel tried to renounce his throne, after losing lost most of his guard, and his beloved Shiva. I know that affected many of you were affected by this loss. It was heartbreaking, but I guess it seemed that Shiva could have gotten away made me a little less affected. Well, that, and the fact that I got spoiled about this episode, but you’ll have to listen to find out more! On nicer things that we saw in this episode, it was good to see Carol in Season 5 & 6 form again, kicking ass as only she can! Ratings are up Some Guy got a 3.88 in the 18-49 demographic, with 8.688 million viewers, up from 3.79 and 8.519 million viewers last week.
