Ben and Brent kick things off with thoughts on the red-hot Toronto Blue Jays! They dive into last night's blowout win over the Rockies, this time powered by five home runs to bring the Jays' total runs in this series up to 25. The hosts discuss if Toronto has again found their offensive mojo, or if it is just the Coors Field effect. The duo focus in on Daulton Varsho, who hit a pair of home runs along with a two-run double, and discuss how he has re-inserted himself as a major component in the lineup. B&B also touch on Joey Loperfido, who had to leave the game after getting drilled in the knee by a fastball, to chat about his importance to this team now. Finally, they talk about last night's starter, José Berríos, and where he falls in the rotation's "trust chart". To close the hour, the a.m. boys get into Chris Boucher's Raptors legacy, Shedeur Sanders' preseason opportunity in Cleveland, and what the most optimistic outlook is for the LIV tour. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliates.
rWotD Episode 3015: 2005–06 Los Angeles Lakers season Welcome to random Wiki of the Day, your journey through Wikipedia's vast and varied content, one random article at a time. The random article for Tuesday, 5 August 2025, is 2005–06 Los Angeles Lakers season. The 2005–06 Los Angeles Lakers season was the 58th of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the 60th overall. The Lakers finished in third place of the Pacific Division and as the seventh seed of the Western Conference. The season ended with the team being eliminated in seven games against the Phoenix Suns in the First Round of the playoffs after holding a 3–1 series lead. After a year absence, the Lakers rehired Phil Jackson as their head coach. It was the final season that Kobe Bryant wore jersey number 8 before changing it to 24 the following season. Also memorable from this season was during a January 22, 2006 game vs. the Toronto Raptors where Bryant dropped a record 81 points, the 2nd highest total in NBA history behind only Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point game in 1962.After the playoffs, Bryant underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in July. This led to him missing the 2006 FIBA World Championship. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 00:10 UTC on Tuesday, 5 August 2025.For the full current version of the article, see 2005–06 Los Angeles Lakers season on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm long-form Gregory.

From the dusty trails of Texas to the shadowed pines of South Carolina, modern-day witnesses are reporting encounters with creatures that defy science, logic, and everything we thought we knew about extinction. This week on Phantoms & Monsters Radio, we take you deep into the world of bizarre, prehistoric-like beings seen in modern times—miniature T-Rexes sprinting across roads, enormous winged reptiles blotting out the sun, and lake monsters surfacing in unexpected waters.Eyewitnesses across the U.S. are sharing extraordinary experiences—stories that include shadow-chasing raptors in the Pine Barrens, screeching bipedal beasts in Hebbronville, Texas, and leathery-winged creatures flying silently above cars in Alabama. From flying pterosaurs with putrid-smelling mucus trails to immense birds feeding on deer carcasses in Illinois, these reports are eerily consistent across decades and regions. Are we witnessing a ripple in time, a hidden lineage, or something far stranger? Also featured is a chilling aquatic encounter at Pennsylvania's Raystown Lake, where an enormous serpent-like entity with forward-facing eyes rose from the water before vanishing without a trace. And don't miss the account of a Florida government official who watched a serpentine giant undulate across a lake like something out of ancient myth. Are these animals relics of a forgotten age, cryptid anomalies, or undiscovered species that have eluded detection? Join us as we dive headfirst into these credible accounts and explore whether real-life dinosaurs still walk, fly, and swim among us.
