Taking a look at Thomas's example, today we dissected doubt.
Stop Doubting and Believe
We all relate to doubting Thomas. But have our lives changed with faith in the risen Lord Jesus Christ?

Many skeptics have questioned the reality of Jesus’ resurrection over the centuries. Listen as Pastor Chuck defends the historical fact of the resurrection by exposing five flawed arguments that skeptics use to attack the truth of Jesus’ resurrection. What are the difficult facts you would have to accept in order to NOT believe in the historicity of the resurrection: • You would have to believe that the disciples stole the body out of the tomb. • You would have to believe that the soldiers stationed at the tomb were so inept as to sleep through the stealing of the body thus never engaging the thieves, but nonetheless were able to identify the disciples as the thieves. • You would have to believe that eleven disciples, among others, lived and died for something they knew from personal experience to be a lie. • You would have to believe that James, the half-brother of Jesus, rejected the faith while Jesus was alive, but after he was killed converted to Christianity with the knowledge that it was a complete hoax. • You would have to believe that 500 people got together and successfully kept the secret of their lie (we saw the risen Christ) OR 500 people saw a group hallucination at the same time. The truth of the resurrection emboldened the early disciples to spread out and preach the Good News of Jesus to the world. Even “doubting Thomas” became a missionary to India. May we follow the command of Christ to spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth!
Thomas generally does not get much good press in Scripture. We know him as “doubting Thomas,” the name he earned by wanting to touch the risen Jesus in person before he would believe in the resurrection (John 20:25). In his own way, Thomas is a disciple for us and for our times. Despite his doubting and his questioning and all of his other character flaws, he is among the faithful. By the grace of God, Thomas finally knew and believed that Jesus is the Messiah, who died and rose again for his sins. The doubting disciple found forgiveness, acceptance, and hope.

We can tend to live with the same problems plaguing us our entire lives. To truly change means we cannot just change our circumstances—we need to change our heart and what/who we live for.

¿Tenemos que esperar que venga de nuevo Cristo, para viéndolo frente a nosotros, creer cumplidas sus promesas? Quizá cuando logremos decir “ver para creer”, sea demasiado tarde para la salvación. ¿Qué estamos esperando?
