In this episode, we delve into the Name It & Claim It movement. Also called "Word of Faith," this is a movement that millions of Christians, Pastors, and entire churches are practicing and preaching. Maybe you have even believed it yourself at one point, or maybe you are still believing it. But how do the beliefs of the proponents of this movement line up with Scripture? Can we really have enough faith to receive anything from God we ask for? Did Jesus mean it when He said in Mark 11:23 - 24, "Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,; and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore, I tell you whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."?

Can we really rely on scripture? Does the church or tradition have just as much authority as Scripture? Can we rely on secular resources as well as scripture? The sufficiency of scripture is the litmus test that reveals just how much people trust the word of God. There are "christians" who uphold the beliefs of scripture's authority, inspiration, and inerrancy yet in practice scripture is not the most sufficient source of truth for them. 

Keith and Adam put us in the mindset of the growing Biblical community in Acts 2 as the New Testament letters begin to circulate. What set of criteria did the church recognize to qualify Scripture? Can we rely on the work of the Holy Spirit all those years ago? Answers to these questions are extremely important to grow faith in our community today.
