Word-faith teachers claim that faith is a kind of power or force that we can utilize to our advantage to help us prosper physically, financially, and spiritually. This week philosopher and apologist Dr. Richard G. Howe will continue to unpack the problematic doctrines and practices of the word-faith prosperity heresy and give us sound, biblical insights as to how we can prevent and counter-act these false teachings. Dr. Richard G. Howe is a writer as well as a public speaker and debater in churches, conferences, and university campuses on issues concerning Christian apologetics and philosophy. He is Norman L. Geisler Chair of Christian Apologetics at Southern Evangelical Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina where he also serves as Professor of Philosophy and Apologetics and as the Provost. Dr. Howe is Past President of the International Society of Christian Apologetics.Related Links: Here are some of our related 4-page Profiles on the Word Faith Movement, popular Prosperity Gospel preachers, the occult and New Age / Mind Science religions: Watchman Fellowship Profile on the Word Faith Movement by Dr. Robert M. The word-faith prosperity gospel is not really the Gospel at all. Much of the heretical theology and practice within the word-faith movement comes from much older and long-standing occult beliefs and practice. This week and next on Apologetics Profile, we'll be featuring president of Watchman Fellowship James K. Walker's conversation with Dr. Richard Howe about the occult influences in the doctrines of highly popular word-faith teachers such as Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn and Joyce Meyer.Dr. Richard G. The Memorandum of Law in Support of Defendant Governor John de Jongh Jr.'s Motion to Dismiss, Transfer, and/or Strike is a legal document filed by the defense team to argue for the dismissal, transfer, or striking of the claims against the former governor. The memorandum provides a detailed legal basis for these motions, typically addressing procedural and substantive issues in the case.Key Points of the Memorandum:Motion to Dismiss:Lack of Jurisdiction: The memorandum may argue that the court lacks jurisdiction over the defendant or the subject matter of the case.Failure to State a Claim: It might contend that the plaintiff's complaint does not sufficiently allege facts that constitute a legal claim against Governor de Jongh.Immunity: The defense could assert that the governor is protected by sovereign immunity, official immunity, or another form of legal immunity that shields him from liability.Motion to Transfer:Venue Issues: The memorandum may argue that the case should be transferred to a different jurisdiction or venue. This could be based on factors such as convenience of parties and witnesses, the location where the events occurred, or the interests of justice.Forum Non Conveniens: It could claim that another court is better suited to hear the case due to practical reasons or legal principles.Motion to Strike:Irrelevant or Prejudicial Information: The defense might seek to strike portions of the complaint that are deemed irrelevant, immaterial, or prejudicial.Improper Claims: The memorandum could argue that certain claims or allegations do not meet legal standards and should be removed from the complaint.Legal Arguments and Supporting Authorities:Statutory and Case Law: The memorandum would cite relevant statutes, regulations, and case law to support the motions. This might include precedents on jurisdiction, immunity, venue, and the sufficiency of pleadings.Procedural Rules: It would reference applicable procedural rules, such as those governing motions to dismiss (e.g., Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 12(b)), motions to transfer (e.g., 28 U.S.C. § 1404(a)), and motions to strike (e.g., Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 12(f)).(commercial at 7:56)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:gov.uscourts.nysd.610915.31.2.pdf (courtlistener.com)

Name It. Claim It. - The Bible Doesn't Say That by Pekin First Nazarene
Understanding "Name It, Claim It": True Biblical ContextGod wants me to be happy. He wants me to have what I desire, so I will just name the blessing I want, claim it for myself, and I will receive it. After all, Jesus said, "ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you," right? Sounds like the perfect recipe for happiness! But what does Jesus really mean when he says that? Let's examine the context of this saying and be assured that Jesus loves us too much to give us whatever we ask for. Instead, through the working of His Word in us, He motivates us to ask for whatever HE wants. That is a recipe for true happiness! In this video, we delve into passages like I John 5:13-15, John 16:16-24, Luke 11:5-13, and I Kings 19:11-13 to uncover the true meaning behind Jesus' words. We'll explore how understanding God's will and aligning our desires with His can lead to genuine joy and fulfillment. Join us for an enlightening study on the profound difference between asking for what we want and seeking what God wants for us.#BiblicalContext #NameItClaimIt #TrueHappiness #AskInFaith #GodsWill #BibleStudy #JesusTeaching #ChristianLiving #SpiritualGrowth #PrayerSupport the Show.Moved to give? http://dschurch.link/givedoralFor more info about our church please visit our website: https://divinesaviorchurch.com/dscdor/
Have you experienced a painful or traumatic event in your life? If so you will want to listen to today's Brandler Bits when we address a great strategy to handle this. If you follow the phrases, Name It, Claim It, Tame it, you can work on healing this pain.
Therefore, keep the words of this covenant, and do them, that you may prosper in all that you do.Deuteronomy 29:9"God desires for His people to prosper. He desires for His people to live in the full blessings of the Kingdom. Unfortunately, because most people have not understood the nature of the Covenant, they have pursued those blessings in an entirely unbiblical fashion."Rev. Know what you want but struggle to untangle yourself from the feelings of obligation that somehow always seem to get in the way? Tricia Huffman believes that "should" is a word that is actually able to be nixed from our vocabulary altogether and replaced with something way more powerful and proactive. In this episode we talk about: Why and how Tricia decided to pay attention to this ONE word on such a granular level How to handle the "positive shoulds" and why Tricia believes there's really no such SHOULD Suggestions for how to nix SHOULD from the heaviest of situations to the lightest The importance of boiling down your message, and how that opened up even more possibility for Tricia as she approached her debut book and more! In this workshop-style NEW YEAR GOAL SETTING WORKSHOP I quite LITERALLY walk you through every single step in order to set yourself up for mind-blowing success with your goals this year. The only thing you'll need is to be willing to gift yourself some time to DREAM UP YOUR LIFE, so that then you can go and claim it! That's right. DREAM IT UP. Make it Juicy. (the more details the better) And then get out there and CLAIM IT. I believe, that the moment you dream up a goal: It's already yours. *IF * you are willing to STAY WITH YOURSELF through the learning moments and the actual CREATION OF IT. It's SO fun to see the incredible 'measurable results' I've created in the 10+ years having used this 3-step process... But that pales in comparison to the unquantifiable value of me LIVING MY LIFE FEELING LIMITLESS, believing in my total capacity, and KNOWING that I can do anything I damn decide. If you're feeling skeptical that you can actually lose x amount of pounds (and keep it off) or change XYZ habit around food (such as sabotaging or emotional eating)... Borrow the belief I HAVE that has allowed me to create ANYTHING I decide: Of course it's possible. Of course I'm capable. I pair these beliefs with UNCONDITIONAL LOVE for myself + INFINITE PATIENCE as I go ahead and make my goals, my reality. Happy New Year, my sister! CHEERS TO YOU. CHEERS TO YOUR BIGGEST GOALS AND DREAMS. Cheers to the vision YOU have for your life- xo Brenda Learn more about The Last 10 Program here: www.brendalomeli.com/thelast10

Today my guest is Tricia Huffman. Podcast host, speaker, Manager of Integrity to Grammy Award-winning artists, and founder of Your Joyologist. In our conversation today we discuss why you need to remove the word "should" from your vocabulary and how that one action alone can dramatically shift your growth. With her unique background and knowledge in self-care and wellness, she first created her Joyology to keep artists healthy, grounded, and inspired in body and mind while on tour. For over a decade she has been a called upon mental health and mindset expert spreading her mission to claim joy daily via her empowering social media posts, real talk podcast, coaching work, product line, Own Your Awesome daily inspiration app, and everything that she does. I love praying the promises of God. But before we do that, let's make sure we're praying things that God has actually promised. For example, just about every Christian has Jeremiah 29:11 somewhere in their house, but does it apply to us today? And can you really, as some say, name it and claim it? Maybe you've heard the phrase before that God said it, I believe it, and that settles it. But does that really settle it? You'll find out the answer to all those questions today on the Cross References podcast. 0:00 - Introduction 3:45 - 12:21-28, A False Proverb 13:35 - 13:1-7, Delusional Prophets 21:00 - Name It and Claim It? 27:20 - God Said It, I Believe It, Does That Settle It? Word of Faith, Name It and Claim It, Seed Faith, or Prosperity Gospel. A lot of different names for the same theology...but is it biblical? On today's podcast, Pastor Derek and Pastor Jackie talk through the meaning of the prosperity gospel, some of its biggest leaders, and some of the history of the movement. Some of the biggest churches in America and the most well known preachers have prosperity theology, so we seek to define what it is and compare it to ALL of Scripture. We hope that as you listen, you will come away with a clearer understanding of why this theology is dangerous and why it is contrary to the Gospel of Jesus in many ways. The 17:17 podcast is a ministry of Roseville Baptist Church (MN) that seeks to tackle cultural issues and societal questions from a biblical worldview so that listeners discover what the Bible has to say about the key issues they face on a daily basis. The 17:17 podcast seeks to teach the truth of God's Word in a way that is glorifying to God and easy to understand with the hope of furthering God's kingdom in Spirit and in Truth.Scriptures: 1 Tim. 6:3-12; Heb. 13:5; Luke 12:15; Matt. 6:19-21; Phil. 4:19; Matt. 6:24-33; 2 Cor. 8:9; Luke 6:38; Prov. 10:22; Psa. 37:18-19; Job 1:1-3; Gen. 13:5-6; Gen. 30:1-43; Gen. 33:9; 1 Chr. 1:14-17; Heb. 11:37-38; Luke 9:58; Luke 8:1-3; Matt. 19:21; 2 Cor. 11:21-29; 2 Cor. 12:8-10; Matt. 3:4; Matt. 14:10-12.Please listen, subscribe, rate, and review the podcast so that we can reach to larger audiences and share the truth of God's Word with them!Write in your own questions to be answered on the show at 1717pod@gmail.com or tweet at us @1717pod on Twitter. There are stories of amazing financial provisions – down to the penny needed. Imminent tragedies have “somehow” dissipated. People have prayed for rain in drought and received it. These kinds of things are on the list of “Big Deal Miracles.” But most of us just need a regular miracle – something to encourage our hearts. The Major Scale is testifying the word of the gospel this episode. First, we pay tribute to the dearly departed Della Reese. She began he career as a singer of immense force and beauty, commanding a range that spanned from Puccini, the deep roots of the blues, Tin Pan Ally, and Gospel. Ms. Reese could deliver it all with spine tingling and soul stirring results. Lynda Blensky, Reese's rep, said it best: "We lost a magnificent woman who was a trailblazer in many ways." The term legend gets used a bit much, but it applies tenfold to an artist like Al Kooper. His work with Bob Dylan, the Zombies, and Lynyrd Skynyrd alone is enough to put him in the history books. He also founded Blood, Sweat, and Tears, which made him a Jazz Rock innovator. Mr. Kooper joins us to talk about a couple of his favorite subjects – gospel music and jazz piano. He also takes over the turntables to plug in a great set from Bobby Timmons, Les McCann, Horace Silver, and Twinkie Clark of the Clark Sisters.
