Brian Harpole served as a police officer in Texas for 14 years, holding a variety of assignments including patrol, tactical operations, criminal and narcotics interdiction, bicycle unit, training, and administration. Over the course of his law enforcement career, he received more than 25 commendations recognizing Valor, Meritorious Service, Meritorious Conduct, Lifesaving, and Officer of the Year honors. In 2008, Brian transitioned to the private sector as the Operations Manager for an elite Texas-based security firm. He worked closely with SEAL Officers Jocko Willink, his Task Unit Commander, and Leif Babin, and was the driving force on many of the daring combat operations Jocko and Leif wrote about in Extreme Ownership. Upon his return, J.P. again worked directly for Jocko as a training instructor at Naval Special Warfare Group One Training Detachment, where he orchestrated realistic and challenging training scenarios for Special Operations Urban Combat training and Close Quarters Combat training to better prepare SEAL units for the real-world battlefield. He also served as a Combatives Instructor, Marksmanship Instructor and earned his Master Trainer Specialist qualification while helping Jocko rebuild and enhance these training programs into the highly effective platforms they are today. J.P. brings exceptional experience and frontline leadership perspective from the winning mindset and culture of Task Unit Bruiser.

Seventy percent of Nevada's population resides inside Clark County. Add 40 million visitors a year and this unit has a great deal of responsibility in both patrol functions and search-and-rescue.With only five aircraft, they flew over 4,000 patrol hours and responded to 91 rescue calls in 2024. It is not unusual to complete a rescue in the snow-covered mountains, respond to a rescue in Lake Mead, and then handle a pursuit, all in the same shift.Our conversation with pilot Blake Farris and tactical flight officer Brad Bear was fascinating. We discuss training, unit dynamics, the mixed fleet of aircraft, mission profiles, and the full time search-and-rescue team located inside the hanger facility.Brad shares an impactful story of working as a patrol officer, where having skilled air crew overhead kept him safe. Upon his return, J.P. again worked directly for Jocko as a training instructor at Naval Special Warfare Group One Training Detachment, where he orchestrated realistic and challenging training scenarios for Special Operations Urban Combat training and Close Quarters Combat training to better prepare SEAL units for the real-world battlefield. He also served as a Combatives Instructor, Marksmanship Instructor and earned his Master Trainer Specialist qualification while helping Jocko rebuild and enhance these training programs into the highly effective platforms they are today. J.P. brings exceptional experience and frontline leadership perspective from the winning mindset and culture of Task Unit Bruiser.

Henry "Hank" Daly and John survived multiple gunshot wounds to the heart, liver, kidney, lung, arm and leg. For his actions that day, he was awarded the FBI Medal of Valor and U.S. Attorney General's Award for Exceptional Heroism in recognition of exceptional acts of heroism involving the voluntary risk of personal safety and life performed in the line of duty in the face of a criminal encounter. Mike Hayes is a former U.S. Navy SEAL officer who served 20 years in Special Operations. A graduate of one of the toughest SEAL training classes—one of only 19 out of 120 to complete—he deployed throughout South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia, including in Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
