In three words: Hoppy, fruity, bold. It's our newest full time brand, which is where we got the name! Tasting notes: Full Time I.P.A. pours hazy deep gold with a dense white foam. Aromas of citrus, tropical fruit and pine abound. The flavour mirrors the aroma impressions with pronounced juicy fruit. A balanced bitterness underpins the flavour. This medium bodied ale finishes dry with lingering hop and fruit notes. Lug Tread In three words: Crisp, balanced, refreshing. Lug Tread is a lagered ale (a term we coined!), it's top-fermented like an ale, and cold-aged like a lager. It's been our flagship brand since we opened in 2006. As of 2017, it's now available in 355ml cans for the first time. It's won more than 20 awards. Tasting notes: Lug-Tread pours a brilliantly clear straw gold, with rocky white foam. A Graham cracker malt character mingles with notes of freshly cut hay and a subtle touch of apple. Sweet, grainy malt is followed by balanced hop bitterness, and the finish is clean and dry. This podcast was recorded on a road trip from a show in northern Ontario. We were heading home and the conversation was pretty fun, so I whipped out the phone and started recording. Justin, Greg and Curtis are all part of the Small Town Pistols group. Justin and Cutis play in the Band and Greg is our guitar tech. These three guys also played in Tyler Wilkinson's group "Motion Picture Ending" and we talked a little bit about that experience as well. Mostly we just talked shit and had a few beers in the back of our rented SUV. The sound is a little funky, but the conversation is pretty great!! Brought to you in part by Audible.com. Tyler Wilkinson found fame at a young age when his dad formed family band "The Wilkinsons". At the age of 9, Tyler was up on stage in the eastern regions of Ontario breaking hearts and taking numbers! By the age of 14, Tyler was on tour busses and hanging with his contemporaries of the late 90's country music scene. He was walking red carpets and receiving rewards for his efforts as a  musician. Several years went by and Tyler started his own project "Motion Picture Ending" and had some success with that. After a few more years, he teamed up with his sister Amanda to write songs in Nashville. (the place where it all began for "the Wilkinsons") Amanda and Tyler wrote from the heart and eventually came to the realization that the music they were recording was too good and personal to just give away. So they formed "Small Town Pistols". After two albums, a baby and some awards, Tyler sat down with me to talk about music and the love of song writing. Amanda Wilkinson was one third of the grammy nominated family band "the Wilkinsons". Amanda and "the Wilkinsons" hit stardom with their single "26 Cents", the song that allowed them the privilege of meeting The Eagles and other hero's of the nature. Amanda was only 16 when she became a house hold name in the country community but that hasn't changed her sense of home and the strength of family. After a bunch of singles and albums with "the Wilkinsons", Amanda went solo and had equally as much success with juno nominations and records sold world-wide. After a brief period living in Nashville, Amanda and her brother Tyler along with their dad Steve started writing again. Five years of cheap beer and heart ache gave way to Amanda and Tyler's debut album as "The Small Town Pistols". There first and second album are fan favourites and they will be on tour this summer playing several shows in Canada with yours truly pushing the faders and worrying about the bottom line. In the podcast we talk about what it's like to grow up in the music industry with all it's quirks and egos. We also talk about what it's like to balance a personal and professional life. SMALL TOWN PISTOLS When you’re declared Group of the Year at Canada’s biggest country music awards show, that’s major validation from a community with high standards. Ontario’s Small Town Pistols won the CCMA title in 2014 after the brother and sister reunited for their 2013 self-titled debut. Now Amanda and Tyler Wilkinson — formerly of country trio The Wilkinsons — are back with the follow-up, Pistology, an album that is personal and sometimes edgy, covering everything from parenthood and family values to vices and rivals.  “Tyler and I learned the craft of songwriting through my dad, but in Small Town Pistols we are grown-up, able to say things that we couldn’t say in the Wilkinsons’ songs because our dad was there,” says Amanda. While both Tyler and Amanda are in solid marriages with babies, this sibling duo isn’t all white picket fences and PG conversation. They are quick-witted and speak their minds as people, and in their songwriting are raw and real — note the smoky western crime story “Ghosts” to the moseying “I Only Smoke When I Drink.”  A couple of songs celebrate family: “Can’t Wait To Meet You” about becoming a parent and the heavier rocker “My Family,” inspired by the morals instilled in them from their parents. MICHELLE SCHULTZ Vancouver's Michelle Schultz has just released a new single called "Camouflage." A major part of Michelle’s music career has been singing national anthems for several sporting and charity events. Michelle sings regularly for several teams in the BCHL and WLA, as well as for the WHL Vancouver Giants.

“At 14 I booked myself into a studio and recorded a demo and it was sent to a producer in Nashville. He liked it and I flew back and forth to Nashville a few times. So Nashville was the very first place I ever made music in a studio,” Toronto's Meredith Shaw explains. “And I know I have come back to this place very naturally. Every moment of putting these new songs together has felt right. I just feel very at ease and at home.” Her passion for country music was rekindled over the past few years through writing trips back down to Nashville, working with The Stellas and Carolyn Dawn Johnson - among others. Meredith's debut country single is called Better Than This - a song she co-wrote. “For much of the past couple of years most of the people I was writing with, talking with, and dealing with on a regular basis were in country music. I know I am in the right place,” she said adding that she has always been drawn to female singers who not only had powerful voices but powerful personalities, regardless of their genre citing the likes of Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, Stevie Nicks, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride and fellow Canadians Shania Twain and CDJ as key role models. Songwriter/producer Jeff Johnson has been brought in to produce the music that will eventually become Meredith’s debut country music album. His track record with breakthrough acts like Wes Mack, and his writing credits with Dallas Smith, Madeline Merlo and Small Town Pistols impressed her. Meredith is the host of the top-rated weekend radio show in Toronto on boom 97.3, a model with a number of successful national campaigns to her name, a business owner of a gift and custom greeting card company, and a philanthropist who started the Girls Who Believe Festival to help girls and young women reach their fullest potential through affirmation and mentorship.

Amanda and Tyler Wilkinson are no strangers to success on the Country charts. First, they scored big as the family trio The Wilkinsons (26 Cents, Fly (The Angel Song), Boy Oh Boy) - along with their dad Steve. These days, Amanda and Tyler have reunited musically as a duo called SMALL TOWN PISTOLS. Their self-titled debut album is up for Country Album of the Year at the Juno awards on March 30th - broadcasting live from Winnipeg. Amanda and Tyler will be presenters that night as well. The album features the hits Colour Blind, Living On The Outside, Blame It On The Radio & Anthem Of A Runaway. Dad Steve - a prolific songwriter - is a writer on three of the album's songs including "Living On The Outside." Small Town Pistols are now releasing Colour Blind in the United States. The song was written by Amanda and Tyler along with songwriter and producer Joey Moi (producer for Jake Owen, Florida Georgia Line, Dallas Smith and many more.) “It’s a song about how we truly feel about the world,” explains Tyler. Tune in and get up close & personal with this multi-talented Country duo and their music.
