Matcha has seen significant growth in coffee shops in recent years. With its striking green colour, promoted health benefits, and aspirational lifestyle appeal, this Japanese-origin tea has firmly captured the attention of Western consumers. In this episode we're asking what's driving this surge in popularity, what's next for the category, and will there be enough matcha to go around as demand starts to outstrip supply? To find out, we'll speak with two specialist matcha operators - Zach Mangan, Founder of Kettl in New York and Hiromi Matsunobu, Founder of Matchado in London.Credits music: Colourblind by Jennifer Lyons in association with The Coffee Music Project and SEB CollectiveSign up for our newsletter to receive the latest coffee news at worldcoffeeportal.comSubscribe to 5THWAVE on Instagram @5thWaveCoffee and tell us what topics you'd like to hear

Did you know that 300 million people worldwide live with colour blindness, including 3 million in the UK and around 450,000 of those are children? Unfortunately, many of these children are being let down by the education system, as colour blindness often goes unrecognised - meaning there's likely one child in every classroom facing this challenge. In our latest podcast episode, Dale is joined by Marie Difolco, a passionate advocate and mother to a severely colour blind child. Together, they discuss ‘Supporting Colour Blindness' and the need for accessible use of colour in education. When colour is not presented accessibly, it can create barriers to learning, understanding, safety, and overall achievement. Marie emphasises the importance of supporting colour blind individuals in both educational and professional environments, highlighting that these children often miss out on fully accessing their education. “The one thing I'd like people to take away from this podcast - never ever use colour alone to convey information. Always use a secondary label, a number, a symbol.” Marie Difolco Listen to understand colour blindness, learn the truth behind common misconceptions, the impact it has and practical strategies to support colour blind individuals. About Marie Difolco Marie Difolco works as an Operations Manager for an Engineering consultancy and voluntarily for the Colour Blind Awareness organisation. She is a driver behind the #1InEveryClassroom campaign. Marie is mother to a severely colour blind boy whose condition went undetected for longer than necessary. She delivers workshops and speaks publicly to raise awareness. Moderator on 3 Facebook Groups about Colour Blindness: Colour Blind Chat Group (U.K.) Supporting the Colour Blind Child (U.K.) Blindness / Color Vision Deficiency Awareness (U.S.A.) Marie provides training and workshops for both the education and businesses sectors on Supporting Colour Blindness and The importance of Accessible Colour. Please contact her for further details via LinkedIn or her Author Facebook page. NEW BOOK PUBLISHED Marie has just released a new book 'Supporting Colour Blindness, in Education and Beyond'. This essential guide explores Colour Blindness, an often-unrecognised special educational need and disability (SEND). It gives you the tools and confidence to ensure children with Colour Blindness can reach their full potential. It helps you to understand what the condition is so you can easily make your teaching accessible and inclusive to all Colour Blind children, undiagnosed or not. In this episode, the hosts discuss the seventh episode of the first season of Alias, "Color Blind". We talk about MTG (for waaaay too long), pouring concrete, and start to lose our ability to remember what is happening.
Amanda Prowse and Penny Dommett nattering around the kitchen table, chatting about all things random. Another fab episode with standard dog snorts and snores as background music... Mandy confesses to feeling like her dogs are also her children, can you relate? We talk about the unconditional love of a pet and how much it means, even when your dogs are two part potato... Penny has her gast truly flabbered when she learns that Mandy is challenged by colourblindness! Mandy would be the worst florist in the world - you need your colours for that! We take a deep and scary dive into what colours look like to everyone else! We chitchat about the horror of online and telephone scams - it's the worst thing and can happen to the best of us, take care out there folks! Which raises the question, do we need landlines? Do we still use them? We touch on the recent story about suicide pods and talk a little bit about end of life choices... How do we feel about our right to die in the way we want? And finally - the joy of not doing anything in the face of drama - you don't have to blow your life up! Doing nothing is an option. So, if you fancy it, pull up a chair and join us for a delightfully irreverent chit chat about life and all its random tangents - bring a cuppa. Cake optional...

As a Filipino in Australia's fashion industry, Carlos Mangubat takes immense pride in representing his heritage. However, his journey to the top hasn't been easy. He is colourblind, a hereditary condition that could have hindered his career in a field where colour is paramount.
We had the pleasure of interviewing St. Lundi over Zoom video! At the age of 20, St. Lundi left his hometown of Hayling Island (off the coast of Portsmouth, UK), to follow his dream of becoming an artist. Employment opportunities were limited on ‘The Island' and he whilst working in a petrol station and living with his grandparents, he left with under £100 in his bank account, booking a 1 way ticket to London. He soon ran out of money and played an open mic night, where luckily he was spotted by some Australian backpackers who offered him a couch to stay on for as long as he wants in their shared digs. This couch became St. Lundi's home for the next 9 months, intermittently being relegated to sleeping in a stairwell when his hosts were partying. He soon found a job as a teaching assistant at a local school for children with learning disabilities and started building a life for himself, whilst gracing the stages of basement venues and open mic nights throughout London in the evenings. At this point, he was spotted by the label owner of Good Taste Recordings and after signing, they started working on a debut EP in late 2019. St. Lundi's debut single was released in March 2020, one week before the UK entered full lockdown.Whilst this spelled disaster for many, it was an excellent opportunity for St. Lundi to hone his skills as a songwriter. He was set up with a home studio and booked in for several remote writing sessions a week over this lockdown period. After just a couple of months, his first big break happened, with Kygo taking a song he wrote called ‘To Die For' and releasing it on his 2020 Gold selling album ‘Golden Hour'. Later this year, he also featured on Seeb's Platinum awarded album ‘Sad In Scandinavia' with a song called ‘Colourblind'.In 2021, St. Lundi wrote his top performing song to date titled ‘Nights Like This'. The song documents his first date with his first (and only) love Josefine. The song entered the radio charts in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Norway and Portugal, as well as amassing over 70 million streams to date. Fans from all over the world have used this song as a first dance at their weddings and soundtracked their romances, a fact that he is very proud of.In 2022, with the world opening back up again, St. Lundi focussed on building a live following and played around 100 shows across Europe, supporting Kodaline, Tom Gregory and Leon, whilst working on new material in his rare downtime. This culminated in his debut headline tour, pulling small but enthusiastic audiences of 100-150 people a night across the UK, BeNeLux and GSA in Feb 2023. Around this time, he released ‘Ready To Be Loved', which was the first song to be presented to UK radio and instantly picked up B-list rotation on BBC Radio 2. This was followed by another GSA tour with German chart-topping ClockClock and another single ‘Fall', which was again added to the BBC Radio 2 playlist.Throughout 2023, St. Lundi has perfected his debut album ‘The Island', which is set out now! And how glasses that allow colour-deficient people to see the full spectrum of colours, work. Plus, Daniel chats to V&A curator Catlin Langford about her book on the mania for Autochrome, an early colour photography process invented by the Lumière brothers.

Had some technical problems today while recoding this episode so you'll have to excuse the change in mic half way through I just really wanted to make sure an episode got out this week! I hope you're doing alright and looking after yourself! Today I chat about the TikTok trend currently happening of colourblind people can't fly planes and I wanted to chat about that and my options and experience with that as someone who experiences similar situations because of my chronic illness. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thetiredsociety/message
The duo are back together again and there's lots to catch up on, including exciting details about how you can come along to see a live recording of Hold My Drink in our studios. This week's episode is all about red flags, and you've sent in loads for Charleen and Ellie to discuss. As always, the girls are on hand to help with your dilemmas for Secrets From The Stalls, including do you tell your best friend if you see her ex with another girl, how to deal with a sloppy drunk on a night-out, and what to do if you're getting ghosted by someone who says they want to go out with you?
Colour Blind Ginger Wizards Welcome to yet another Mondays With Macron that got way out of hand and went on longer than expected. This week prepare for mayhem as we get involved in some more Zoom conferences, argue with a man who just doesn't want to fix his own grill, Ron tells off a lady for taking unwanted pictures of employees, Scoby Ramone (RIP Scott Hall) deals with a comic book store full of angry nerds, we manage to prank a "celebrity" twice in less than one week, we deal with another stolen Chipotle order and we manage to take down an entire Hockey team who did not seem to understand why they would get kicked out of a hotel just for making a huge noise and disturbing all the other guests, with some epic results! Thank you as always to our kind supporters, all the people that listened live on YouTube and everyone checking out our podcast. I love you very much and keep it locked to macronshow.com where Ron will be doing more supporter's shows at BuyMeACoffee

Colour Blind is a satirical web series created by producing partners Anna Lawrence and Tai Hara addressing race and diversity in the entertainment industry. Based on Hara's experiences as an actor, and also directed by him, the series aims to gently shed light on current inequalities and racial mindsets through it's hilarious mockumentary shooting style and cringe worthy situations. In this episode Hara and Lawrence talk us through the project; from initial conception to shooting with a skeleton crew to securing funding for post production and how they've adjusted their marketing strategy to better serve their audience. Hara is best known for his role on the much loved Australian television drama Home & Away and Lawrence works in online branded content where she currently holds the position of Head of Video at Pedestrian Group, Australia's largest digital youth publisher.

Who Is Anthony Ricciardi:In today's episode, I sit down with Anthony Ricciardi, an incredibly talented artist who's accomplished so much at such a young age. He left the world of corporate finance to pursue his dream of being an artist and he's living it!You can see Anthony's art all over the world in the form of murals, galleries, private installations, and more. His start in the art world was not easy. He had to juggle his 9-5 finance job while simultaneously honing his craft, which meant A LOT of late nights, early mornings and weekends for a VERY long time. His story is extremely inspiring and one you don't want to miss...oh and did I mention that he's also colourblind!?What We Talk About On This Episode of The Andrew Bilak Show:- When the right time is to quit your job to pursue your dreams- How to persevere when you hit the reset button on your life- Why putting in the work is the ONLY thing that matters- And much more...Resources:Website - www.ricciardipaints.comInstagram - @ricciardipaintsandrewbilak.comIf you enjoyed today's episode, please subscribe, rate and review The Andrew Bilak Show on apple podcasts :)To get more information about future podcasts and to subscribe to the newsletter - click here
