Then Connor and Johannes take a deep dive into the Montreal Canadiens messaging. The guys were, like most people, were confused and frustrated by Marc Bergevin's post-trade deadline press conference. The Habs GM spent a good portion of the press-conference contradicting himself. Building off this, the guys take a look at the Habs messaging through the Bergevin years. Unfortunately, the messaging hasn't been consistent. Johannes hits us with some messaging theory to help explain why the Habs are failing at delivering a strong message to their fans. The transactional model of communication suggests that information is sent and received simultaneously through noisy channels - each level involves a frame of reference, level of experience, and expectation. It's a very interesting way to analyze the Habs messaging and expectations they deliver to the fans and media.
