The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3, snapping the Phillies' 11-game home winning streak. This was a more typical Toronto Blue Jays game, having great starting pitching, just enough offense to keep them ahead, and a solid performance from the bullpen. Chris Bassitt had a huge bounceback game, getting swings on pitches outside of the strike zone, resulting in a ton of weak contact. Vladimir Guerrero Jr had a good day, hitting balls hard and going 3-5. The Blue Jays played some small ball in the 8th, taking advantage of hit and runs and some tough at-bats that resulted in hits. Jordan Romano did his best to try and blow the game for the Blue Jays but ended up getting a save and closing out the game for the Blue Jays. In this episode, we break down individual player performances, highlight plays, and give some sneak peeks regarding future episodes and video ideas your hosts are looking to bring you in the future. The Toronto Blue Jays lose another game, this one being against the Philadelphia Phillies 10-1. Jose Berrios got picked apart today, giving up eight runs in his first blow-up outing of the season. The offense continues to be subpar, only manufacturing one run in the game, while allowing the Phillies starting pitcher Christopher Sanchez to breeze through 7 innings. John Schneider got kicked out in today's game after a botched call by the third base umpire allowed Kyle Schwarber to reach base when he should have struck out. Ultimately, this led to Bryce Harper launching a grand slam into the right field seats. Overall, there is not a lot of positives to take from this game. WE NEED CHANGE. Where would you start if you had the responsibility of fixing this team? It is clear the Toronto Blue Jays offense has been subpar so far this season. As many fans have realized, the current Blue Jays batting order is not getting the job done. John Schneider's huge line-up shuffle consisted of swapping Daulton Varsho and Bo Bichette in the batting order while keeping George Springer leading off. We have decided to help John Schneider out with his decisions by making our batting orders to jumpstart this offense. Do you agree with our batting order? The Blue Jays pitching staff has had a roller coaster start to the 2024 season. With a plethora of injuries and abysmal pitching performances, we decided to break down a few members of this pitching staff, going over the good, the bad, and the ugly. How are you feeling about this Toronto Blue Jays pitching staff? Aaron Sanchez has returned to the Toronto Blue Jays on a minor-league deal. It seems like Ross Atkins has a new plan of attack for this team, trying to capture some 2015 magic for the 2024 Toronto Blue Jays. The Blue Jays have a two-game series set against the Philadelphia Phillies, hoping to get back in the win column. Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes. Where do we go from here? The Toronto Blue Jays lose the series 2-1 to the Washington Nationals. This was undoubtedly the worst series of the year. The Blue Jays only scored three runs against the worst pitcher in all of baseball, Patrick Corbin. While Yusei Kikuchi was dialed in, going 6 innings strong of one-run ball, the bullpen found a way to throw away the game. In game 2, the Washington Nationals tried their hardest to give the Blue Jays a million runs in the first inning, but the Blue Jays settled for 4. Jordan Romano had a classic Jordan Romano start, leaving people on the edge of their seats by bringing the tying run to the plate, but inevitably getting out of the jam. In game 3, Alek Manoah took the mound for the first time in the 2024 season. With the Blue Jays scoring 8 runs in the game, and the Washington Nationals again trying their hardest to help the Toronto Blue Jays offense, you would think they would come out with a victory. In this episode, we break down the Nationals series, giving our perspectives on what the Blue Jays did and did not do well during these three baseball games. With one of the craziest series of the year, there is a TON to talk about. We break it all down on this episode of Locked on Blue Jays. Ross Atkins is in his 9th season as the General Manager of the Toronto Blue Jays. Under Ross Atkins, the Blue Jays have failed to win a playoff game since 2016, when Ross inherited a World Series contending team from Tony Lacavo, but really it was Alex Anthopoulos who built this team from the ground up. Ross Atkins has made some great trades in the past, but it has not led to success for the Toronto Blue Jays organization. This season, he went full out on pitching and defense to limit as many runs as possible. So far, his plan has not panned out. We break down some of Ross Atkin's biggest transactions with the Toronto Blue Jays, the team's success under his tenure, and what we can expect from the Toronto Blue Jays and Atkins for the rest of the season. We also break down the National series pitching matchups and what we expect from the Toronto Blue Jays this weekend. What do you think should be done with Ross Atkins? Who is to blame for the Blue Jays struggles? Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes. The Toronto Blue Jays lose the series to the Kansas City Royals. The offense continued its consistency this season, they have consistently been horrible. In other news, Alek Manoah had an unbelievable start in Triple-A, striking out 12 and only walking three. With Yariel Rodriguez re-aggravating his back injury, there is an opening spot in this rotation. If you were John Schneider, who would you give the fifth starting rotation spot? Would you go with Alek Manoah, Bowdin Francis, or Trevor Richards or would you go with someone else entirely? In this episode of Locked on Blue Jays, we do a deep dive into games 2 and 3 of the Blue Jays and Royals series, breaking down the good, the bad, and the ugly of this series of Toronto Blue Jays baseball. The Toronto Blue Jays are 31 games into the season. We decided to take a look at players the Blue Jays decided to let go this offseason and compared them to players that are in the lineup in 2024. We exchanged: Matt Chapman, Whit Merrifield, Jordan Hicks, and Brandon Belt for IKF, and Justin Turner, but this allowed for players like Davis Schneider and Ernie Clement to see the field more often in 2024. We compare these players' starts to the season, discussing which decisions we agree and disagree with through the first month of the season. George Springer has been good this season, but why? Carter does a deep dive into George Springer's struggles, finding the root cause of Springer's slow start to the season. Based on what you have seen from Springer, what does he need to do better this season? In this episode, Brayden breaks down the fanatic fiasco, as multiple organizations are trying to throw the blame on one another. Who do you think is in the wrong in this Fanatics Fiasco? The Toronto Blue Jays have done the impossible. They have scored 6 runs for the first time since April 6th. This was a Justin Turner legacy game, as he smashed 2 pull-side home runs over the left-field wall. He continues to show his value not only on the baseball field but off it as well, helping Davis Schneider with his approach at the plate. The Blue Jays did something fans aren't accustomed to, they scored runs in multiple innings and had 3 home runs in a game for the first time since opening day. Yariel Rodriguez did not have his best stuff but fought hard to get through three and two-thirds innings with only 2 earned runs allowed. Addison Barger also picked up the first hit of his MLB career today. Hopefully, today served as a step for this offense, hoping to carry their momentum through the rest of the series. We break down game 1 against the Royals, analyze player performances and cover Blue Jays news and storylines on this episode of Locked on Blue Jays. The Toronto Blue Jays narrowly avoided a sweep against the Los Angeles Dodgers, losing the series 2-1. This offense stinks. Scoring seven runs in a three-game series is not going to be enough to beat one of the best offenses in the league. George Springer, Bo Bichette, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr are having horrible at-bats, serving as a black hole at the top of this lineup. John Schneider has shown time and time again that he is not capable of making the correct decisions to manage this baseball team. He refuses to change the lineup when the Blue Jays are 27th in the league in runs scored per game. Clearly, something needs to be changed to provide a spark to this Toronto Blue Jays offense. In this episode, we break down the Dodgers series, specific plays and moments, the pitching staff, John Schneider, and much more Toronto Blue Jays news and stories. The Toronto Blue Jays have a huge problem with their batting order. George Springer, Bo Bichette, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr are all hitting under .235 to start the season. As a result, it has been 17 games since the Toronto Blue Jays have scored more than 5 runs in a baseball game. Something needs to be done. We discuss what we believe the batting order should be to provide a spark to this offense. The Blue Jays dropped a 2-1 game against the Kansas City Royals as a result of a rain delay, that ended the game after 5 innings. Jose Berrios gets the loss after making one bad pitch to Salvador Perez that brought both runs home for the Royals. The 5 inning rule has always been in the MLB, but it's hard not to feel cheated in a baseball game that only lasted 5 innings. Do you think the MLB should extend the minimum number of innings required for a game to count as being played? The Blue Jays host the LA Dodgers for a home weekend series. This will be a huge test for the Blue Jays offense, as they will need to keep up with the Dodgers if they want to win a series. Will the Toronto Blue Jays win the series against the Los Angeles Dodgers? The Toronto Blue Jays made a huge move on Wednesday afternoon, calling up Addison Barger to the Major League Club. Addison Barger has played the infield his entire career, having limited reps in right field. This led the Toronto Blue Jays to stick Addison Barger in left field….. Addison Barger had some good at-bats but the scoresheet did not reflect that, as he went 0/4. John Schneider made several questionable decisions during this game, which ended up costing the Blue Jays once again, leaving Blue Jays fans to question more than ever if he can handle this role with the Toronto Blue Jays. Yariel Rodriguez took the bump today. He did not have his best stuff, however, he did what great pitchers do, and he gave his team a chance to win. We analyze the addition of Addison Barger, John Schneider's reasoning, Alex Manoah's Triple-A start, and much more in this episode of Locked on Blue Jays Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes. The Toronto Blue Jays have some questions to answer with their pitching staff. The Jays have a good problem to have, there are too many pitchers that deserve to have a roster spot with the Blue Jays and not enough pitching spots. With Yariel Rodriguez's performances, there is no clear-cut answer regarding how the Blue Jays should manage this situation. Who do you think is deserving of the last spot in the bullpen? While Daulton Varsho is scorching hot in the MLB, Orelvis Martinez is having himself an April down in Triple-A. Considering Martinez is on a 15-game hitting streak, there is some talk that the Blue Jays could pull him up to the MLB roster. Do you think this is a good idea? Where would he hit in the lineup? On this episode of Locked on Blue Jays, we will also cover Ricky Tiedemann and his injury, Bo Bichette and his approach at the plate as well as a preview for Wednesday's game against the Kansas City Royals, hoping to get another electric outing from Yariel Rodriguez. The Toronto Blue Jays continue their hot streak, winning the first game of the series against the Kansas City Royals 5-3. Yusei Kikuchi continues to dominate opposing lineups, going six innings strong and shutting down the Royals lineup. Bo Bichette and Daulton Varsho had massive hits today, Bichette with a bases-clearing triple and Varsho with another home run, continuing his scorching hot stretch. With the lackluster start from the first three players in the batting order, it was encouraging to see Bo come up with a clutch hit. We also talk about what to do if you do not have access to a TV and the Blue Jays game is on, how are you going to watch the game? What sacrifices would you make? In this jam-packed podcast, we cover Alek Manoah's most recent start in Triple-A Buffalo, a preview of the second game of the Royals series, and an interesting storyline regarding Yankees manager Aaron Boone. The Toronto Blue Jays lose the last game of the series in tough fashion against the New York Yankees, blowing a two-run lead in the top of the 9th inning. Daulton Varsho had a legacy game, going yard on two separate occasions, leading the Blue Jays charge offensively. Kevin Gausman struggled to find his footing in the first inning, loading the bases, but he found a way to work out of the jam and never looked back. Gausman's velocity was back to normal standards, throwing the hardest pitch he's thrown since August of last season. Erik Swanson struggled immensely in his first outing of the season, giving up 3 earned runs and blowing the Blue Jays ninth-inning lead. John Schneider made his first questionable decision of the year, throwing Erik Swanson to the wolves in high leverage after being injured for a month, instead of pitching Chad Green, who was pitching very well as the temporary closer before Jordan Romano and Erik Swanson returned to the lineup. Did John Schneider make the correct decision? We cover all this and more on this episode of Locked on Blue Jays. The Toronto Blue Jays hand the New York Yankees their first series loss of the season, holding onto a 5-4 win. This game had some of everything, from runs, errors, smart baserunning, and suspenseful endings, the Toronto Blue Jays put on a show Tuesday Night. Yusei Kikuchi continues to produce effective innings time and time again, only allowing one run against a tough Yankees lineup. Considering Danny Jansen dropped a throw from Davis Schneider, that run probably should not have scored anyway. Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and Ernie Clement all had some productive at-bats today, coming up with hits in clutch situations to help lead the Blue Jays to their victory. Jordan Romano, Erik Swanson, and Yimi Garcia all returned to the Blue Jays for today's game, with Jordan Romano earning his first save of the season. The Toronto Blue Jays get a huge divisional win against the New York Yankees and are above 500 for the first time of the season. The Hound of the Mound did what he does best again, giving up one run over six and a third innings of work. This offense is still a problem, having runners in scoring position with 0 outs for all the first three innings and only coming away with 3 runs. Chris Bassitt commented on the pitch clock and the pitching injuries, stating that the injuries are more on pitchers and team personnel than the pitch clock itself, which has had some interesting responses from fans around the league. Tim Mayza has struggled so far this season; we look to figure out the root cause of these struggles. The Toronto Blue Jays secure a much-needed series win against the Colorado Rockies. Kevin Gausman struggled in game one of the series. Having issues with the command once again. Yariel Rodriguez made his season debut on Saturday, showing Blue Jays fans flashes of what they can expect for his future with the Blue Jays. Rodriguez is still being worked up to a starter role, having limits on how many pitches he can throw in a single game. Justin Turner continued his hot start of the season with three more hits, as well as Jose Berrios shut the door in his start, pitching seven scoreless innings. The New York Yankees roll into the Rogers Center next for a three-game series. The Toronto Blue Jays look to go over 500 for the first time this season. We cover all this and more on this episode of Locked On Blue Jays. With the Toronto Blue Jays having an off day on Thursday, we decided to break down the Blue Jays pitching staff and their performances so far in 2024. The start to the season has been a whirlwind for this group, being plagued with injuries in the early weeks of the season. From Electrifying, dominant starts to huge blow ups, the Blue Jays pitching staff has given you a little bit of everything to start the season. We analyze individual performances, who is HOT and who is NOT, and what this pitching staff might look like in coming days with reinforcements on the way. As we head into a weekend series with the Colorado Rockies, we break down pitching matchups and our perspectives on how the weekend is going to unfold on this episode of Locked on Blue Jays. The Toronto Blue Jays drop the final game of the series to the Seattle Mariners in extra innings, 6-1. Yusei Kikuchi was electric on the mound today, striking out 8 of the first 10 batters on his way to throwing 6 innings of one-run ball. The only source of Blue Jays' offense in today's game was Vladimir Guererro Jr, smashing a baseball 459 feet off Logan Gilbert, sitting in the top 5 as one of the farthest home runs Vladdy has ever hit in his career. After the loss, Cal Raleigh called out John Schneider about his comments about Raleigh and the Mariner's offense last season. Cal Raleigh has always been a thorn in the Blue Jays side, hitting 9 home runs in 15 games against the Blue Jays. Was what Cal Raleigh said about John Schneider justified? Will John Schneider respond? How will this impact future games against the Seattle Mariners? Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes, Mitch White. The Toronto Blue Jays have won back-to-back games for the first time this season, taking the second game of the series against the Seattle Mariners 5-3. The Hound on the Mound got back to his dominant ways, throwing 6 and two-thirds innings of one-run ball, earning Bassitt his first quality start and win of the season. Bo Bichette launched his first home run of the season, smashing a low splitter into the left-center stands. Cavan Biggio and IKF also had productive days, each coming up with multiple hits against Mariners starter, George Kirby. The Toronto Blue Jays look for their first sweep of the season, and more importantly, continue to play well-rounded consistent baseball. Yusei Kikuchi will take the mound, looking to step on the throats of the Seattle Mariners and gain some momentum for this baseball team. Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes, Mitch White. The Toronto Blue Jays get a stellar day from Jose Berrios once again and take the first game of the series against the Seattle Mariners 5-2. This was a complete game from the offense and defense, getting solid production from the starting pitching, the bullpen, and the entire lineup. Davis Schneider continued his success at the plate with a crucial two run single in the bottom of the third inning. Every Blue Jay got a hit today, other than George Springer. This is key for the Toronto Blue Jays if they want to be a world series contender, they will need consistent production throughout the lineup. Will the Toronto Blue Jays continue to score runs throughout this series? What did the Blue Jays do differently in this game to get offensive production? We cover all this and more on this episode of Locked on Blue Jays. Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes, Mitch White. The Toronto Blue Jays drop their second series in a row against the New York Yankees 2-1, ending the Blue Jays Road trip 4-6. This offense has been very underwhelming to start the season, hitting under 200 as a team through the first 10 games. Unfortunately, much of this series showed similarities to last season, with the Toronto Blue Jays lacking the ability to string hits together, hit with runners in scoring position and have timely hitting. The Toronto Blue Jays need to figure out how to drive runners in when they have the opportunities if they want to be a series contender in the MLB. Right now, they are sitting in the bottom third of the league in every offensive category. The Blue Jays look to win their first series of the year, hosting the Seattle Mariners in their home opener. Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes, Mitch White. The Toronto Blue Jays are not going to win many games scoring two runs over three games, while getting 1-hit and no-hit in two out of three of those games. This offense needs to switch something up. Whether it is new personnel in the lineup, a change in approach or just being better hitters, the Blue Jays need to score more runs. Toronto Blue Jays fans have the right to be frustrated, as this was the same problem this team was having last season, and it has somehow gotten worse to start the season. Things do not get any easier as the Blue Jays head to New York to take on the Yankees. The Yankees are coming off a 2-1 series win against the Diamondbacks and swept the Astros in a 4-game set 5 days before they are set to take on the Toronto Blue Jays. What do the Blue Jays need to do to get some more production offensively? Do the Blue Jays have enough talent on this roster to compete for a World Series? Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes, Mitch White. The Toronto Blue Jays drop the game and the series against the Houston Astros 8-0. The Blue Jays survive getting no-hit for a second time this series due to a Daulton Varsho double being the only hit of the ball game. The Blue Jays were outscored 19-2 in this series and were very lucky Davis Schneider saved the season with a 9th-inning homerun. We discuss what the issues are with the Toronto Blue Jays offense, how John Schneider has managed this team and how the Blue Jays performance was in this series, as well as players to watch for the rest of the season. Are you happy with how the Toronto Blue Jays have played in the first 7 games? What should the Blue Jays do to fix their offensive struggles? Davis Schneider saves the Toronto Blue Jays season with a 2-run home run in the top of the 9th inning. Schneider continues to break records, as that home run was the longest home run off a Josh Hader slider ever, hammering it 423 feet. Jose Berrios continues to be a huge asset for the Toronto Blue Jays, pitching a strong 6 innings and carving through this Houston Astros lineup. The Toronto Blue Jays are going to need to figure out their bats, as 2 runs in their last 18 innings is not going to provide this team with a lot of wins. The Blue Jays try to win the rubber match against the Astros tomorrow, with the Hound on the Mound, Chris Bassitt, pitching against Christian Javier. Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes, Mitch White Intro: 0:00 Game Recap: 1:16 Stories/Game 3 Preview: 22:15 Outro: 30:32 Twitter: @Brayden5Ewasko @Carterfuerst2 Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@dialedinjays Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
The Toronto Blue Jays get no-hit by Ronel Blanco and the Houston Astros. After the Yankees beat up the Astros in the last 4 games, this is a tough pill to swallow for the Toronto Blue Jays. Bowden Francis got lit up by a pissed-off Astros lineup, going just over 5 innings and giving up 7 runs. The Blue Jays do the most Toronto Blue Jays thing ever and become the first team of 2024 to be no-hit. And now for the offensive highlights: George Springer walked twice. That is all. We did get to see IKF on the mound, where he gave Kevin Gausman a run for his money trying to secure the role as the Blue Jays ace. This rough offensive start to the season has Blue Jays fans worried that this might be a replica of our 2023 offensive season. The Toronto Blue Jays will look for revenge in tomorrow's game, with Jose Berrios on the bump facing off against Framber Valdez, another tough pitching matchup for this lineup. The Toronto Blue Jays split the opening weekend series 2-2 with the Tampa Bay Rays. After an 8-2 win Thursday, Chris Bassitt was solid in his first start, but the stats would not back him up. Untimely errors and a lack of hitting cost the Toronto Blue Jays that game. In the third game of the series, Yusei Kikuchi put together a mediocre outing, but it did not matter, as the Toronto Blue Jay had flashbacks from 2023 and could not hit a baseball. The Jays did bounce back on Sunday led by performances by Kevin Gausman, Justin Turner and Mitch White. The Toronto Blue Jays head to Houston for a three-game series against the Astros, hoping to find some offensive consistency. In this episode, we analyze Bo Bichette's costly error and how we view his defensive position on this team, the Genesis Cabrera altercation that caused the benches to clear and what we saw from this team offensively in this series. We provide an in-depth analysis of the moments that make or break Toronto Blue Jays games on this episode of Locked on Blue Jays Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes, Mitch White Intro: 0:00 Key Moments: 0:50 Series Recap: 15:30 Young Stars and Jays vs Astros: 28:00 Outro: 36:27 Twitter: @Brayden5Ewasko @Carterfuerst2 Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@dialedinjays Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
WE ARE BACK. Toronto Blue Jays baseball is here. For the Opening weekend series, the Toronto Blue Jays will go to the Trop to take on the Tampa Bay Rays in a four-game series. Jose Berrios will take on Zach Eflin in game one, setting the stage for an AL East showdown. The Toronto Blue Jays come into this series with a depleted bullpen, with Erik Swanson and Jordan Romano starting the season on IL. The Toronto Blue Jays struggled against the AL East last season, having a record of 21-31. The Blue Jays have the opportunity to seek revenge and start the season on the right foot. In this episode, we break down the opening day matchup, analyze key matchups and give our keys to success for the Toronto Blue Jays opening series. The Toronto Blue Jays have beaten the breaks off the Tampa Bay Rays in their opening day game, scoring 8 runs in the process. It was the first game of the season, but this team had a different feel heading onto the field. We finally had some offensive production up and down the lineup, with major contributions from Alejandro Kirk, Cavan Biggio, Bo Bichette and Jose Berrios. This was a huge win for the Toronto Blue Jays to start the season, considering the lack of success the Blue Jays had against the AL East throughout last season. What are the keys to victory for the Toronto Blue Jays throughout this series? Which players will have to step up to continue the Toronto Blue Jays success? With Opening Day being 2 days away, we decided to lay out our bold takes for the 2024 season. We provide 6 Toronto Blue Jays Hot takes for this team, from who will be an everyday player to how many home runs Blue Jays players will hit this season. Which hot takes can you see panning out this season? Which players will overachieve this season? Which players will not meet expectations? Kevin Gausman was absolutely electric in his first game back from injury, striking out 7 hitters in 3 innings of work. Even with this stunning performance, it has not been confirmed if Gausman will start in the first rotation of pitchers. The MLB has made their picks for league leaders in the 2024 season. They have Bo Bichette leading the American League in Batting Average. Do you agree with this prediction? How do you think Bo Bichette will fare this season? Will Kevin Gausman pitch against the Houston Astros? The Toronto Blue Jays have made their Opening Day roster decisions for position players on this team. Ernie Clement, Davis Schneider and Daniel Vogelbach have earned their spots, while Spencer Horwitz and Nathen Lukes were sent down in corresponding moves. The pitching situation could not be more opposite, with injuries lingering up and down the starting rotation and bullpen. How do you feel about the Blue Jays decisions on their opening-day roster? What would your opening day roster look like? The Toronto Blue Jays are nursing a TON of injuries as we move forward to opening day. Major pieces like Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Erik Swanson, and Alek Manoah are all questionable for the start of the season. John Schneider has also been experimenting with different batting orders in the last few weeks of spring training, going through some trial and error to work out some kinks before meaningful baseball games come upon us. We cover this and all the major storylines for your Toronto Blue Jays. We have a guest for today's episode, a degenerate gambler, and sports fanatic, Skyler Peters. Skyler joins the boys in talking about the Toronto Blue Jays' success in spring training, whether these approaches will translate to the regular season, and who we think can continue to be productive at the plate throughout 2024. Which spring training standouts will continue their success into the regular season? With the trade of Santiago Espinal, we discuss who we think will get the opening day starts and 2nd and 3rd base this season. IKF and Cavan Biggio are more experienced, however, Ernie Clement and Davis Schneider have higher offensive upside that could be beneficial for a team that struggled to hit for power last season. Who do you see getting the starts on Opening Day? While we hope every Toronto Blue Jays player exceeds expectations this season, it is not realistic to believe that. We analyzed 3 players that we could see having a down year this season, due to age, lack of production, or lack of opportunity. Which players could you see underperforming for the Toronto Blue Jays? Do you think we should be worried about any Blue Jays players? Your current Toronto Blue Jays roster: Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Bo Bichette, Kevin Gausman, Jordan Romano, Alek Manoah, Yariel Rodriguez, George Springer, Yusei Kikuchi, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Cavan Biggio, Justin Turner, Daulton Varsho, Danny Jansen, Alejandro Kirk, Joey Votto, Erik Swanson, Kevin Kiermaier, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Spencer Horwitz, Chad Green, Tim Mayza, Trevor Richards, Genesis Cabrera, Yimi Garcia, Bowden Francis, Eduardo Escobar, Daniel Vogelbach, Orelvis Martinez, Ricky Tiedemann, Zach Pop, Addison Barger, Nate Pearson, Nathan Lukes. After much speculation, the Toronto Blue Jays have traded infielder Santiago Espinal to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for right-handed starting pitcher Chris McElvain. McElvain is a young prospect, being drafted in the eighth round of 2022, and spending the 2023 season in Single-A and High-A. With Ernie Clement's resurgence this spring training, and considering Espinal was out of options, there were not many alternatives to this result. Do you think the Blue Jays should have traded Santiago Espinal? Did the Jays get enough assets in return? With baseball season around the corner, we go into some Toronto Blue Jays Fantasy Rankings, going over where your Blue Jays are being picked, and whether we believe that these rankings are correct.
