Speaker: Mike DavisThis passage and the entire story of Acts ends in a "shocking" way. The book may end, but the story does not. God continues to spread the Gospel and expand His Church to this very day.
Moon is finally back from Europe... barely. After rocking massive Goldfinger shows in England, Moon thought he was headed home with some great vacation stories. Instead, he found himself trapped in a German airport nightmare involving missed connections, endless lines, angry travelers, confused airline employees, and enough frustration to test the patience of a saint. If you've ever been stranded while traveling, you'll feel every second of this story.Of course, this being The Rizzuto Show, we can't simply discuss international travel like normal adults. Before Moon can even finish explaining how he got stuck in Frankfurt, the conversation somehow derails into an in-depth investigation of nose hair trimming technology. Which trimmer works best? Which one is lying to you? Can any of them actually reach the mysterious "front cave" region of your nostrils? Important questions are asked. Very few are answered.Moon also shares stories from London, Paris, the European heat wave, questionable airport experiences, and the realization that saving money on flights sometimes costs your sanity. Along the way, the gang debates the worst possible movies to watch while flying on a German airline, and somehow turns Saving Private Ryan into an accidental international incident.Meanwhile, back in St. Louis, the crew talks about the vandalism at Steve's Hot Dogs and why supporting local businesses matters when they're already battling construction, rising costs, and random acts of destruction. The conversation then drifts into National Hot Dog Day planning because apparently that's how professional broadcasters handle serious topics. And just when you think things couldn't get any weirder...A Maryland Heights Hooters becomes the setting for one of the most bizarre crime stories imaginable. Let's just say one customer took "dining in" a little too literally. The crew breaks down the unbelievable details and wonders how someone ends up making that series of life decisions. Also in this episode:Moon's European vacation recapThe great nose hair trimmer debateGerman airport survival tacticsTravel horror storiesSt. Louis hot dog newsGas price hunting strategiesForest Park getting national recognitionStrange airline movie choicesHooters headlines nobody asked forThe usual daily chaos from Rizz and the gangIf you enjoy sarcastic humor, ridiculous travel disasters, bizarre news stories, and a group of friends getting distracted every five seconds, this episode delivers exactly what you'd expect from your favorite daily comedy show. Thanks for making The Rizzuto Show part of your day. Whether you're listening at work, in traffic, or while aggressively researching nose hair trimmers, we're glad you're here. The daily comedy show continues with another episode full of travel fails, unexpected detours, weird news, and the kind of conversations that probably shouldn't happen on a morning radio show.Moon got rejected by the Blue Angels. That's right. After years of dreaming about flying with the legendary flight team, filling out paperwork, getting medical forms completed, and generally doing everything he was supposed to do (allegedly), the Navy said, "Nah." The crew spends way too much time trying to figure out who got the spot instead, throwing out names ranging from Cardinals legends to local celebrities and basically anybody who isn't Moon. Then things somehow get even weirder. The gang debates one of the most ridiculous music questions ever created: if you could only listen to one genre for an entire year, would you choose mumble rap, post-9/11 patriotic country, Christian death metal, or AI-generated EDM? The answers reveal way more about everyone's personalities than anyone intended, and somehow Christian death metal becomes the surprise hero of the conversation. In Crap On Celebrities, the celebrity chaos is firing on all cylinders. Diddy drama takes another bizarre turn, Sabrina Carpenter gets a restraining order against an alleged stalker who apparently thought hiding in a Prius was a good plan, Taylor Swift fans once again convince themselves they're decoding secret messages from the universe, and The Black Crowes find themselves at the center of a USA chant controversy. The crew also dives into the latest music news, including Mick Jagger somehow still having more energy than people half his age, a Gene Wilder biopic that already has everyone fan-casting, and the ongoing debate about whether Val Kilmer was a misunderstood genius or simply impossible to work with. Then comes the emotional destruction.A list of the most heartbreaking animal moments in movie history sends everyone spiraling. From Artax sinking into the Swamp of Sadness in The NeverEnding Story, to Mufasa's death in The Lion King, to Homeward Bound, Fox and the Hound, I Am Legend, and more childhood trauma than any morning radio show should legally be allowed to revisit before noon. If you've ever cried because of a fictional animal, prepare to relive every painful second. It's another completely normal day with The Rizzuto Show, which means absolutely nothing is normal. The gang welcomes Ashley Vogt and NHL veteran Jamie Rivers into the studio to celebrate two massive life events: a surprise Nashville engagement and the launch of Synergy Integrated Healthcare. But before anyone can get sentimental, the show immediately derails into a debate about throwing apple cores out of moving vehicles and whether that technically makes you a criminal. Spoiler alert: Missouri law apparently has thoughts.Meanwhile, Moon relives the heartbreak of being passed over for a coveted Blue Angels flight after thinking he was officially cleared for takeoff. The crew spends an alarming amount of time trying to figure out who could possibly be worthy of stealing his seat. Steve Ewing? John Goodman? Wayne Gretzky? Andy Cohen? The investigation continues. As if that wasn't enough, the crew checks in on the internet-famous guy attempting to live in a room for an entire year while livestreaming the experience. He's lost weight, picked up hobbies, and somehow still has fewer viewers than some houseplants on social media. The discussion quickly turns into a philosophical debate about personal sacrifice, family life, and whether staying locked in a room sounds like punishment or a vacation. Then comes Alpha-Gal Syndrome, the tick-borne condition that could potentially rob meat lovers of everything they hold dear. Lern takes a suspicious amount of joy in imagining a future where Riz can't eat meatballs in Europe, while the rest of the room tries desperately not to anger the tick gods.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.Serial exposer charged for indecent act at Maryland Heights HootersForest Park Named Best City Park in the USA…Again!Outdoor balloon releases illegal in Louisiana starting in AugustSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Today's episode of The Rizzuto Show starts with a devastating tragedy that may require federal intervention, congressional hearings, and at least three strongly worded emails: Moon got rejected by the Blue Angels. Send us Fan MailTGTPTU's olds take a break from handing out shiny nickels and Werther's Originals warm from their pockets and yelling at clouds to join Gen Z cohosts Thomas and Jack for the latter's third pick from Ron Howard, the child star turned hack director's big studio, Industrial Light & Magic, four-quadrant blockbuster COCOON (1985). Chosen due to nightmares it'd given to, and an insane plot retelling by, Jack's friend, this first-time watch for him is remembered fondly as a family outing and rewatch by Gen X cohosts Ken and Ryan. That friend's plot summary of extraterrestrials passing in human skinsuits abducting retirement home residents after seducing them with youthful lives of breakdancing and sexual congress does sound terrifying, but the film filters much of this through an all-star cast of Golden Age Hollywood actors (including this film's Oscar-winning Best Supporting Actor Don Ameche and his four-out-of-four-star gams) and the youthful innocence of child actor Barret Oliver from The NeverEnding Story (1984) and the titular Daryl in D.A.R.Y.L. (1985). The flick also has a mid-twenties Steve Guttenberg in short shorts. Who likes the Gute in short shorts? We like the Gute in short shorts. Exclusive to listeners of this episode, Ryan reveals the location of Atlantis; Thomas considers sex as an and/or with elderly person(s); Jack reveals his childhood-trauma-by-proxy; and Ken is unimpressed by the chase scenes but very into Gwen Verdon's legs. Meanwhile, John Ritter's testicle enters the chat. What started as a normal Friday episode quickly turned into one of the most emotionally unstable shows we've had in a while. Honestly, nobody was prepared for how hard the “saddest movie deaths ever” conversation was going to hit. One minute we're joking around about Pointfest and celebrity gossip… the next minute half the room is emotionally compromised over Artax from The NeverEnding Story slowly sinking into the Swamp of Sadness while childhood memories collapse in real time. This episode of The Rizzuto Show goes deep into the emotional destruction caused by movies like The Lion King, Big Fish, My Girl, The Green Mile, Logan, Forrest Gump, Titanic, Harry Potter, Inside Out, Fox and the Hound, Steel Magnolias, All Dogs Go To Heaven, and about 400 others because apparently everyone on this show carries unresolved cinematic trauma.Moon gets surprisingly philosophical. Rafe gets aggressively emotional about animated foxes. Lern somehow manages to make everybody sad repeatedly. Scott contributes exactly the kind of unhinged movie takes you'd expect from Scott. Meanwhile Riz attempts to hold the entire thing together while the conversation spirals into increasingly depressing territory. And somehow — somehow — we pivot from emotional movie deaths directly into celebrity gossip and fried chicken.Because that's radio, baby.We break down the bizarre report that Michael Jackson allegedly ate KFC for nearly every meal of his life. Naturally, this leads to an aggressive debate over mashed potatoes, fast food quality decline, chicken sandwich wars, buffet nostalgia, and whether anyone should trust powdered potatoes emotionally or spiritually. The celebrity chaos doesn't stop there:Paul McCartney refuses selfies because he feels like a zoo animalBritney Spears may or may not have terrified an entire restaurant while holding a knifeTaylor Swift wedding rumors are getting more secretive than a CIA operationKorn is apparently sitting on 40 unreleased songsPink Floyd now has collectible coins because reality means nothing anymoreThis funny podcast somehow manages to combine emotional damage, celebrity nonsense, food debates, weird news, sarcastic humor, and total radio chaos into one gloriously ridiculous episode. If you like a daily comedy show that sounds like your funniest friends slowly losing control in real time, welcome home. The Rizzuto Show continues delivering the kind of funny podcast energy that only happens when nobody in the room knows how to stay on topic for longer than 45 seconds.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Today Matt & Todd crack open the VHS clamshell and revisit the ultimate case of First Blood at home: 1985's The Park is Mine, starring Tommy Lee Jones; This is Matt & Todd's new venture into the original Parks & Rec[1]: an HBO‑produced 1985 Vietnam-vet-splotation film that plays like First Blood filtered through The A‑Team instead of Sam Peckinpah. Directed by Steven Hilliard Stern, The Park is Mine is fast‑paced, earnest, entertaining, and flawed. There's no question about the talent involved. Tommy Lee Jones brings a grounded intensity, Yaphet Kotto elevates every scene he's in, and the supporting cast delivers exactly the kind of genre‑movie charm you want from a mid‑80s HBO original.Starring:Tommy Lee JonesHelen ShaverEric Peterson — Whit Bissell WinnerLawrence DanePeter Dvorsky — Whit Bissell WinnerYaphet KottoThe violence dialed down and the message… well, also dialed down. What it lacks in blood and thematic clarity, it replaces with brief nudity, explosions, and solid performances. The premise is compelling, even if the film doesn't explore it deeply and seems to rely on your familiarity with other properties to fill in the emotional blanks. But here's the thing: nostalgia carries weight. This movie is etched into the halcyon days of early HBO—when NeverEnding Story, Beastmaster, and Commando looped endlessly and everything felt like it clicked. Maybe we do love us some Tommy Lee Jones and Yaphet Kotto as well, there's probably some bias here but it is fair to say this is more of a worthwhile tangent than a hidden gem. Thanks for coming with us.Footnotes:[1] Unsubstantiated internet rumor[2][2] That I made up.The Park Is Mine is based on a 1981 novel of the same name by Stephen Peters, who also wrote the screen play for 1998's Wild Things.

This week we're delving into our mailbag to mark the end of our series on 80s fantasy movies (you can tell because people only “delve” in fantasy settings) and to share your nostalgia, nit-picks, and at least one bit of trivia - about David Bowie in Labyrinth - that blew our tiny goblin minds. Step into another unforgettable episode of the Wise_N_Nerdy podcast, where Joe is joined by special guest Phil Keating for a journey through nostalgia, parenting wisdom, and nerd culture that hits both the heart and the funny bone. The episode kicks off with the Question of the Week: “What childhood film scarred you the most?” What starts as a lighthearted prompt quickly turns into a nostalgic deep dive into the movies that left a lasting impression on us all. From emotional gut-punches like The Land Before Time and The NeverEnding Story to unexpected childhood trauma courtesy of films like Jaws and Leprechaun, Joe, Phil, and the community reflect on the moments that shaped their young imaginations—sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. With the roll of the dice guiding the way, the show launches into the “Parliament of Papas” segment. This time, the hosts react to a Reddit story about someone who was fired for repeatedly dropping “Scotty Doesn't Know” references at work. What follows is a hilarious yet insightful discussion about workplace boundaries, humor, and knowing your audience—especially when your jokes might be a little too niche (or a little too persistent). Next, the dice lead into the “How Do I…?” segment, where Joe and Phil tackle an important parenting topic: How do you teach your kids emotional intelligence? Drawing from personal experience and thoughtful reflection, they explore ways to help children understand and express their emotions, build empathy, and develop the communication skills they'll need throughout life. It's practical, heartfelt advice for any parent navigating the challenges of raising emotionally aware kids. Then it's time to shift gears into “What Are You Nerding Out About?” Phil shares his excitement over the latest Gorillaz album, The Mountain, diving into the band's ever-evolving sound and creative energy. Meanwhile, Joe highlights a couple of recent gifts that have him buzzing—Movavi 2025 from Devocite, fueling his creative projects, and the book Technically Magic by J. Abram Barneck, blending tech and imagination in a way that speaks directly to his nerdy soul. The conversation takes a fun detour when Joe's wife brings up her love for the latest Karate Kid movie, sparking a broader discussion about the enduring legacy of the franchise. From classic moments to modern revivals, it's a celebration of a series that continues to resonate across generations. Of course, no episode would be complete without a dose of classic dad humor. The dice call for a horde of Bad Dad Jokes, delivering a rapid-fire sequence of puns, groans, and laugh-out-loud moments that perfectly capture the chaotic charm of the show. Finally, the episode wraps up with the beloved “Daddy, Tell Me A Story” segment. Joe and Phil share their first experiences playing Dungeons & Dragons—recounting the excitement, confusion, and creativity that come with stepping into a world of imagination for the very first time. It's a fitting end to an episode that celebrates storytelling, connection, and the joy of embracing your inner nerd. Whether you're here for the laughs, the life lessons, or the love of all things geeky, this episode is packed with moments that will resonate long after it ends. So pull up a chair, join the conversation, and don't forget to Find your FAMdom. Wise_N_Nerdy: Where Fatherhood Meets Fandom Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

A curious phenomenon emerges this week as we watch 1984's The Neverending Story. It's a favourite from Dave's childhood which Nath and Rob were convinced they'd never seen. The evidence in fact points to them both having watched the film previously and entirely forgotten what happens, which is unfortunately also true of this latest rewatch (something to do with a sad horse and a flying dog, the details are lost to us).Which is all to say that The Neverending Story has a strange energy - a tinge of Euro-weirdness, the half-logic of children elected heroes in the face of magical annihilation, and an episodic structure full of grotesque puppets and special effects. We love it! We've forgotten it. It makes us sad.Let us know what you think of this episode by emailing us at redshirtcinemaclub@gmail.com and support us on Patreon at patreon.com/redshirtcinemaclub for access to two bonus episodes per month as well as our newsletter, The Civilian Observer. Before diving full-on into BatMarch, the guys take a quick stop in Westeros to talk about the newest Game of Thrones spin-off series from HBO A Knight of the Seven KingdomsBut first, did Cody witness legit magic? How many kingdoms are there really in Westeros? Was the inclusion of the Game of Thrones theme song a subversion? Did Dunk's shitting scene work? Did the jokes and lightness of the series fit the GOT universe? Is Game of Thrones required viewing to enjoy this show? Which characters would we be? Is Egg's acting top tier? Would Dunk make a good Colossus in a live action X-Men movie? Does Anthony recommend the Dunk & Egg comics? Is Egg's brother Maester Aemon? Did the Targaryens have DRIP? How is Baelor like Ned Stark? Why is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms so much better than House of the Dragon? Did we get an in-depth look at Flea Bottom in this series? How do we feel about all the episodes being less than an hour and the season being only 6 episodes? Were we impressed by the sheer amount of world building despite the series being set in one geographic location? Will George RR Martin ever finish The Winds of Winter? Should we do an episode on The Neverending Story? What's the truth about Balto? Are the Targaryens on the Epstein list? What are the top 5 on-screen horse deaths? Did AKOTSK have a ton of iconic scenes? Was Dunk ever actually knighted by Sir Arlan? Who is Cody brining to his Trial of the Seven? How did we feel about Maekar? Is Aegon like Kevin McCallister? Which character hung Dafoe-level dong in this series? Should HBO adapt Aegon's Conquest and Robert's Rebellion? Are we more excited for Hot D season 3?Back Superguy issue #2: My Date with The President's Daughter on Kickstarter! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mrtonynacho/superguy-2-my-date-with-the-presidents-daughter?ref=creator_tabNew episodes every THURSDAYFollow us on social media! A new season begins, and we transition from our favourite genre (sci-fi) into our other favourite genre (fantasy) quicker than turning the corner in Waterstones' basement. Moving from Star Wars into 1988's Willow felt like the most natural step - it's directed by Ron Howard (of Solo fame), stars Warwick Davies (Wicket the ewok) and has a story dreamed up by George Lucas himself. There are other parallels, most notably the roguishly handsome Han Solo-esque swordsman Madmartigan (Val Kilmer) and wonderfully crafted stop-motion monsters, but really who needs an excuse to sit through a bunch of classic 80s fantasy movies for the next few weeks? If you fancy watching along with us, here is our schedule for the next month. Consider joining our brand new 'Captain' tier on Patreon if you want to vote for what we watch on 1st April. - Willow (1988) - 9th March - Labyrinth (1986) - 16th March - Highlander (1986) - 18th March (Captain and Commander bonus episode) - The NeverEnding Story (1985) - 23rd March - Time Bandits (1981) - 30th March - Captains Choice Bonus Episode - 1st April Hosted on Acast.
