John Ackerman is the CEO of Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) which runs LAX and Van Nuys airports, two of the busiest in the world. And with LAX as the 'first-touch' point for travelers to Los Angeles, he knows that major renovations are necessary to make LAX the world-class airport that L.A. deserves. Ackerman has huge plans which include making the airport 'more L.A.,' but also making it easier to get into and out of - as well as major overhauls to the airport aesthetically. A former military pilot with a people-first background, is Ackerman the right person to lead LAX and Van Nuys into the future? With the eyes of the world on Los Angeles for World Cup, Super Bowl, and the LA28 Olympics, it looks like he is. Let's get into it!

On today's Rizz Show episode the gang discusses Food terrorism, Headphone Heists, Youth Coaches crushing dreams, Tornado of Trouble, and a man at the Airport redefines what Brown can do for you! All that plus, the return of Do it Bitch and Rocked dot net 's Luke Spencer stops by to break down bands that should retire vs Bands that changed their style and it worked! Then things get weird, because naturally they do.The crew dives into the modern dating scene and discovers that your future soulmate might reject you over the state of your vehicle. Apparently, a pile of fast-food bags and a suspiciously sticky cup holder are enough to send your romantic prospects directly into reverse. The gang debates whether a messy car means a messy life, why teenagers suddenly become cleaning experts when they're dating someone, and whether your car is secretly a giant rolling personality test.Along the way, there are conversations about World Cup dating strategies, international soccer fans creating accidental baby booms, and why bagpipes might actually be the soundtrack of the underworld. Somehow, all of this makes perfect sense in a comedy podcast. As always, the crew takes ordinary stories and turns them into complete nonsense. One minute it's concert ticket technology and oversized bags at venues. The next minute it's relationship advice based entirely on how many french fries are living under your passenger seat. It's daily chaos, sarcastic humor, and the kind of conversations that make you laugh because you're pretty sure you've been guilty of at least one of these things.Whether you're a neat freak with a spotless interior or someone whose car doubles as long-term storage, this episode has something for you. It's another round of weird news, relatable fails, and completely unnecessary debates from your favorite St. Louis morning crew. This comedy podcast delivers concert stories, dating observations, and enough self-roasting to keep everybody humble.Grab your coffee, clean out your cup holders, and join Rizz and the gang for another ridiculous ride because this comedy podcast proves once again that everyday life is way funnier than anybody planned.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.Man records tornado destroying his home around himSt. Louis firefighter accused of defecating in box at Lambert AirportArby's manager accused of spitting in customer's food, giving her herpesChild sprays aerosol near smoking adult and causes explosion, NC officials saySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The podcast rulebook says you have to cover a plane movie for episode #747, so I went with the daddy of the '70s disaster craze. The planes are 707s in Airport, but oh well. George Seaton writes & directs a cast of stars & Oscar-winners (including Burt Lancaster, Dean Martin, Jean Seberg, George Kennedy and Jacqueline Bissett). He was rewarded with a blockbuster hit that snagged 10 Oscar nominations (Helen Hayes even won for her adequate supporting performance) and it started a run of Airport flicks. Those 3 sequels and the various disaster films this influenced followed the formula of intertwining stories, romance, some humour and a lot of peril (in this case, there's a Heflin bomb onboard). This is one of the better ones. It's entertaining and has a thrilling climax. So spend some time hearing about Airport. Subscribe to my channel in your podcast app. Rate my show and review it too. We like to think we make rational financial decisions, but the reality is our spending habits are heavily driven by weird, internal cognitive biases. Today, we unpack the completely subjective psychology of how we value money, from price anchoring to mental accounting. By exploring our own financial quirks—like happily splurging on vacation while refusing to buy a $25 airport muffin—we uncover how to align our habits with our true values. Developing a personal spending philosophy empowers you to stop sweating the small stuff and confidently put your dollars where they bring the most joy.Get the full show notes, show references, and more information here: https://www.insideoutmoney.org/168-from-25-airport-muffins-to-12-underwear-the-weird-irrational-psychology-of-how-we-spend/

Do you remember the TV show called Locked Up Abroad? It's no longer in active production, but you can still see past seasons on some different platforms like Hulu and Apple TV. Every episode of the show was a true story of someone who was traveling outside their own country. Actually I seem to recall that most of the people were Americans traveling outside the US. And they would make a really bad decision to do something like trying to smuggle drugs or other illegal things into this other country. And of course they would get caught, and now they're arrested and in jail in a place where they don't really know the rules or procedures, and there might not even be anyone there who speaks English. It's a true nightmare scenario. My guest today is Emily. She has personally been through that type of experience, and she told that story here on the podcast 5 years ago. She was the one who tried to get through airport security, while having bags of cocaine taped to her body. That was not a good day for Emily. During a 2002 humanitarian trip to Africa aboard Jeffrey Epstein's aircraft, former president Bill Clinton was photographed receiving a brief neck and shoulder massage from Chauntae Davies during a stop at an airport in Portugal. Davies, then 22, was working as a flight attendant for Epstein and later said Epstein had sexually assaulted and exploited her. According to Davies, Clinton complained that his neck had stiffened during the long journey, and Ghislaine Maxwell suggested that Davies—who had trained as a massage therapist—help him. The photographs show Clinton seated while Davies massages his shoulders, creating an especially disturbing image in hindsight because she was traveling within the orbit of the man she later accused of abusing her.Davies has consistently said that Clinton behaved appropriately toward her, describing him as a “perfect gentleman” and characterizing the massage as an innocent, spontaneous interaction rather than sexual conduct. Clinton likewise told congressional investigators that his neck had gone into spasm and that the massage lasted only briefly; he denied knowing at the time that Davies had been victimized by Epstein and denied receiving sexual services from anyone associated with him. The episode does not establish misconduct by Clinton, but it remains symbolically significant because it captures a former president accepting personal attention from a young woman employed within Epstein's operation while traveling alongside Epstein and Maxwell—another example of how survivors were placed in close proximity to powerful people who later claimed they knew nothing about the abuse occurring around them.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

On 18 June 2022 firefighters working at the Providenciales International Airport on the Turks and Caicos Islands went on strike in protest at an unequal implementation of a pay award. The action shut down the airport and caused cancellations in domestic and international flights. Workers were due to receive their first pay increase in seven years, of 15%. But the workers complained that the increase was not being paid equally to all workers. After a few days, the airport authority issued a statement promising to review workers' salaries with the aim at implementing a new, fair grading scale.More information, sources and map: https://stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/7806/turks-and-caicos-airport-strikeOur work is only possible because of support from you, our listeners on patreon. What nobody tells you is that the airport corner that looked quiet on camera sounds like a construction site in post-production.This is season five of The Podcast Space, and I'm doing something different. I'm recording while traveling through four countries — with just a phone, a tripod, and a pair of mics — and turning the entire experiment into a case study for you. Every format decision, every mistake, every moment of "I'll just fix it in post" that didn't get fixed: it's all going in here for you to see.One of the most useful insights from this season's launch? The question that stopped me from publishing a subpar episode is the same one I tell my clients every single time: does this last piece of content you published reflect your values, your ethics, and how you want to be perceived?Chapters:00:00 Welcome to Season 5 — and Take Two01:30 Why I'm Taking the Podcast on the Road01:46 Lesson 1: The Airport Recording That Didn't Make the Cut02:45 Lesson 2: Always Pre-Record Content Before You Travel03:31 How to Set Audience Expectations When You Change Formats04:14 Platform-Agnostic Listeners and What That Means for Your Show05:44 What Season 5 Looks Like: Formats, Experiments, and the Lean Setup05:52 Episode Formats I'm Testing: Clips, Mini-Episodes, Q&As06:09 The Question Every Episode Should Answer07:48 Stress in Podcasting on The GoWhat Season 5 Actually CoversFor more focused guidance, book a discovery call to plan a content strategy that suits your goals and minimizes the overwhelming noise.Alongside the format experiments, here's what I'm planning to dig into this season. This is not in any particular order — I'm giving myself some flexibility to follow what's most relevant as the season unfolds, including three bonus episodes.1. Are systems overrated for podcast success? I'll be examining what's actually driving consistent output versus what just feels productive.2. What makes a podcast description work for both humans and machines? A practical look at how to write descriptions that serve your listener and the algorithm at the same time.3. The social media strategy most podcasters skip. And why skipping it is costing them reach they could be capturing with almost no extra effort.4. What the biggest podcasters do — that you shouldn't copy. This one will challenge some common assumptions about what success looks like at scale.5. What no one tells you about podcast seasons — and the specific thing that blindsided me and created a lot of unexpected stress. I'm turning it into a short, focused episode because it deserves its own space.6. Why your podcast listeners aren't buying. I've been getting this question from clients consistently, and the answer isn't what most people expect.7. Reframing the value of your podcast in your business. An episode I'm genuinely excited about — it will shift how you think about what your show is actually doing for you.8. Live from The Podcast Show. Field recordings and conversations from the conference, with a heads-up that the audio will have some background noise — it's a live event, and that's part of it.9. Incorporating listener feedback into your show. Testimonials, quotes, voice messages, and how to use them as content without it feeling awkward.I also have one episode recorded at an undisclosed location that I'm not ready to reveal just yet.Resources mentioned in this episode:For the full list of links, resources and show notes, please visit:https://www.thepodcastspace.com/podcast/s5-115-i-tried-to-record-a-podcast-in-an-airport-heres-what-season-5-experiments-will-look-like

The guys open with Ed basking in the glory of a long-awaited New York Knicks championship after attending multiple historic playoff comeback victories. Brian recaps a trip to Pittsburgh, including a devastating near-miss on a foul ball that may haunt him forever. The show then pauses for an emotional tribute to beloved longtime listener and frequent caller David Bray, whose passing leaves a lasting impact on the Baller Lifestyle community. From there, it's a full RIP roundup featuring entertainers, athletes, actors, coaches, and public figures before diving into sports stories involving Phil Mickelson, bizarre baseball controversies, social media feuds between Sesame Street characters, and much more. The episode closes with Nine Sports, where the conversation drifts into celebrity weddings, microwaved fish, Ted Danson's infamous blackface controversy, and a report claiming Randy "Macho Man" Savage's off-screen activities were every bit as intense as his wrestling persona. something unexpected always happened. En: The flight boards constantly changed, and travelers rushed through the terminals with their eyes fixed on their destinations. En: Among these people was Mikkel, a man in a suit, always tidy with shiny shoes, his clean folder, and the healthiest Danish rye bread in his bag. En: He had an important business trip to Berlin on the agenda. En: Not far from him was Freja, a young woman in casual clothes with a cheerful backpack filled with dreams and a bit of practical travel gear for her upcoming adventure in Southeast Asia.Da: Idet de begge nåede sikkerhedskontrollen, forsøgte Mikkel at holde fokus.En: As they both reached the security checkpoint, Mikkel tried to stay focused. En: He needed his documents for the business meeting when he drew out a guidebook to Thailand stedet mødte hun et hav af papirer og kontorartikler, der stank af formalitet.En: Instead, she was met with a sea of papers and office supplies that reeked of formality.Da: Hun grinede, lidt rystet, men ikke overrasket over Lufthavnens magi.En: She laughed, a bit shaken, but not surprised by the airport's magic.Da: Med et skævt smil besluttede hun at blive siddende i håb om, at ejeren af den He asked his way among busy travelers and reached Freja, just as he was about to board.Da: "Er du Freja?"En: "Are you Freja?"Da: spurgte han lettere åndeløst, idet han kunne se sin egen rygsæk ved hendes fødder.En: he asked, slightly breathless, as he could see his own backpack at her feet. En: "I think we switched bags," said Freja, laughing, and the two exchanged bag contents and laughter.Da: Med deres tasker tilbage i de rette hænder skilles deres veje hurtigt.En: With their bags back in the right hands, their paths quickly diverged. En: As they walked toward their respective gates, Mikkel glanced one last time at Freja and considered how her free spirit could bring a breath of fresh air to his somewhat too schematic life. En: Freja, on her part, thought that sometimes even adventures required a bit of planning—enough to ensure you took your belongings with you. En: Mikkel boarded the plane with a new thought that adventures like Freja's might not be so far out of his reach, while Freja headed toward her gate with a newfound respect for the art of planning. En: And somewhere amidst the airport's In this episode of Just So You Know, Jamie and Justina sit down with wildlife advocate and reality TV fan-favorite Blake Moynes to talk about the urgent realities of wildlife trafficking, rehabilitation, and conservation work happening around the world. This conversation goes deeper than surface level takes. We explore what it actually means to rescue animals in the wild, how trafficking and habitat destruction are affecting vulnerable species, and why conservation is far more complex than most people realize. We get into:• How Blake's love for animals turned into a real conservation mission• The truth about wildlife trafficking and rescue work abroad• What animal rehabilitation actually looks like behind the scenes• Zoos, sanctuaries, and the ethical gray areas in conservation• The emotional and financial challenges of protecting wild animals• Why reconnecting people to nature could be part of the solutionThis isn't just about loving animals. It's about what it really takes to protect them in a world built on exploitation. If you've ever dreamed of working with wild animals… questioned the ethics of zoos and sanctuaries… or wondered what conservation really looks like on the ground, this episode is for you.⸻ IF THIS EPISODE RESONATED
