Locked On Canadiens - Daily Podcast on the Montreal Canadiens
Inside today's Locked on CanadiensA story broke over the weekend relating to Marc Bergevin and his long-standing grudge with the Montreal Canadiens alumni. It's been a known thing that many of the Canadiens former players felt like they were frozen out from the team while Bergevin was GM, something that has changed under the tenure of Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes. However, this story has taken another twist, with Bergevin apparently being upset and barring two club legends from being in the same spaces as the current team. Scott's not having it, and has plenty of thoughts about the whole alleged ordeal. While all eyes are on the Montreal Canadiens as the Trade Deadline approaches, the Laval Rocket were the ones making moves on Monday afternoon. The team announced they signed goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo to an AHL contract for the rest of the season. The hosts discuss how he fits into the goalie hierarchy for this season, and how Scott thinks he will be a key piece in the Canadiens organization for next season alongside Jakub Dobeš.To wrap up the show, it's prospect time! With the Canadiens sliding deeper and deeper into the Draft Lottery, the prospects are becoming the must-see TV options heading into the springtime. Scott and Laura list out their own personal must-watch or must-follow options as conference and league championships. Obviously Lane Hutson reigns supreme at the top of both hosts list, but what about the top OHL stars like Owen Beck or Filip Mesar? Scott also gives a shoutout to some of the under-the-radar options playing in Sweden right now. Plus, the real added benefit to all the prospect watching? Locked On Canadiens - Daily Podcast on the Montreal Canadiens
Inside today's Locked on Canadiens The NHL and NHLPA appear to be exploring a path towards an 84 game season, adding on two more games for teams in what already feels like a season that lasts too long. The host discuss their feelings around why an 84 game season is heading in the wrong direction for the NHL, and why shortening the season might lead to a better quality of hockey. Marc Bergevin's name has popped up a lot in recent interviews for NHL general manager positions, with the Penguins, Flames and allegedly the Maple Leafs all wanting to or having talked to the former Habs GM. What should teams expect if they do hire Bergevin, and how are the hosts feeling about his potential return to an NHL front office? Finally, with Cole Caufield still out of contract the Canadiens fanbase is beginning to worry about the potential of an offer sheet from an opposing team. A listener poses a great question on the limit to which the Canadiens could willingly match a potential offer sheet. The host break the details down, and debate where the line in the sand is with a new contract. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Locked On Penguins - Daily Podcast On The Pittsburgh Penguins
It was a busy Monday when it comes to the Pittsburgh Penguins and updates on their GM search. Hunter starts the show by diving into those updates and how the Penguins have finished their first round of interviews. He discusses the latest report from Pierre LeBrun and why it's great seeing Eric Tulsky mentioned for the gig. That said, he does dive into why both Marc Bergevin and Peter Chiarelli should not be GMs again in this league since they didn't do much of anything in their last stops. Also: What is Hunter's dream Penguins front office based on the latest names? You can find that answer here, too. He then dives into Marcus Pettersson's season in review and why he had his best one yet. He looks at the numbers and what he saw on the ice to assess his play before thinking about what he's going to do next season and beyond. Remember when people wanted to trade him? Finally, he ends the show with some playoff talk as the Vegas Golden Knights took out the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday night. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Happy Wednesday! The episodes continue as Hunter starts the show with a small update on the GM search. Well, it's an update in the sense that he doubts Marc Bergevin will be considered for the role. Hunter discusses what Elliotte Friedman talked about towards the end of his 32 Thoughts Pod and why it seems like it's just an agent helping out a client. After that, he breaks down Rickard Rakell's season and how he surprised Hunter in numerous ways this year. Hunter eats all the crow as he was against part of the extension due to the term but it quickly went away with how he played. He looks at how Rakell struck gold on any line that he was on and how that will be a big factor heading into next season. He also marvels at how great of a one-timer he has and why the power play should run through him a bit more next season thanks to his shot and his vision from the left half wall. After that, Hunter gives a couple of more moves that he would make if he were the general manager this summer. Which d-men does he have his eyes on? What about forwards for the bottom six? Finally, Hunter breaks down Tuesday night's playoff action and why this first round has been an absolute pleasure to watch. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
On this episode of The Sick Podcast, Eric Engels joins Tony Marinaro to discuss the pros and cons of Marc Bergevin's time with the Habs on the anniversary of his departure from the Canadiens. Later in the show, Tony Marinaro discusses Canada's devastating loss to Croatia and previews the next World Cup games.

Locked On Canadiens - Daily Podcast on the Montreal Canadiens
The Montreal Canadiens were well represented at the NCAA Frozen Four tournament with seven prospects in all play. With just four teams left, that number is down to just two as Brett Stapley and Rhett Pitlick are set to play in the Frozen Four semi-finals next week. Scott however wants to make a note, that just because the stats aren't gaudy, that doesn't mean that the prospects didn't play well at the end of the day. Also, the hosts muse on whether or not Stapley can become another version of Jake Evans if he signs a contract with Montreal before his rights expire. Jordan Harris has finally arrived and joined the Canadiens down in Florida, and will practice off the ice before their game against the Panthers on Tuesday. Scott and Laura discuss how he fits into the lineup, and how the debut of Justin Barron might help set the expectations properly for his eventual debut in Montreal. The hosts also discuss the prospect of buying out players like Jonathan Drouin or Mike Hoffman this summer, and whether it's worth the trouble or if it's better to get any sort of trade return instead. The GM meetings are also underway in Florida, Scott and Laura discuss the new proposals for penalty review and the LTIR situation. If the rules change surrounding LTIR, can Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton find a way to undo the work of Marc Bergevin? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
