I’m learning each day how to juggle being a follower of Jesus, a wife, and a new mama. I struggled to find my place in this new to me world of motherhood and to put my relationship with Christ first. On this podcast I’m going to share everything I have learned so far about motherhood and how I am trying everyday to put my faith in Jesus…which isn’t always easy if I’m being honest. I’m looking forward to sharing my strengths and weaknesses with you, discussing scripture, current events and the raw day to day adventures of being a wife and mama.
I'm really on the fence about publishing this episode....and I might delete it. Well we'll see about that... On this episode I talk to my mom about her experience with domestic violence. My biological father beat my mom and threatened not only her life, but mine as well. We barely scratched the service on this episode, but we wanted to cover the basics in hopes that this episode may help at least one person on their journey. If you or someone you know is in an abusive relationship and you need help you can call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800.799.SAFE (7233) We're praying for you! I'm not sure if anyone cares to hear this story, but here it is. I've wanted to share my testimony for a while now, but I've been nervous to. The reason I've been nervous to share is because well, its nothing spectacular compared to some testimonies you hear. But that doesn't matter, because this is MY story, written by God Himself and that's all that matters. Everyones story is different, and not everyone has to be an alcoholic, hooked on drugs, suicidal, or a cheater to be saved. We all have a story and each and every story no matter how many twists and turns is unique and beautiful. At the end of the day all that matters is that we know Jesus, and have a personal relationship with him. I am all over the place and for that I apologize, but if I took the time to think about this story and write it all down I just don't think it would have come out the same. Hi Mamas! This episode was inspired by a conversation that I recently had with someone in my life. It really stirred up a lot of emotions and lit a fire in me to be BOLD! I can not, and will not be silent. On this episode I mentioned four pastors that I trust immensely, and will list their information here: Don Stewart: Educating our world Pastor Jack Hibbs: Real life with Jack Hibbs Pastor James Kaddis: Calvary Chapel Signal Hill YouTube channel Pastor Tom Hughes: Hope for Our Times Please share this podcast if you are enjoying it, and please leave me a 5 STAR review! On this episode I talk about our new puppy, and how exhausting it is! I've never had a puppy before, and boy has this been an adventure! To say I was not prepared is an understatement, I am exhausted! Please share this podcast if you are enjoying it, and please leave me a 5 STAR review! OoOoh-wee this is a raw episode if I do say so myself. Trying to conceive is such an emotional roller coaster for me. I honestly didn't think it would be the second time around, but if I'm being honest it's just as emotional as the first time. When you're trying to have a baby you don't want to tell anyone because then they'll ask you about it and you don't want to feel that disappointment, but when no one knows what you're going through you feel alone, it's a very tricky situation. I recorded this episode on a whim and I hope it helps at least one mama out there know that she is not alone! Please share this podcast if you are enjoying it, and please leave me a 5 STAR review! Well it sure has been a hot minute since I've uploaded a podcast, and for that I apologize!!! I can give everyone advice and lift up others, but when it comes to taking my own advice I struggle. I have really been struggling lately with patience while being in this season of waiting, and I feel like a total fraud. I feel like a fraud because I am struggling, but I'm not a fraud, im just a sinful human....and that's ok. The Lord has a plan for me and my family, and it will all happen in HIS timing, until then I am learning a lot of lessons. Please share this podcast if you are enjoying it, and please leave me a review! If you would like to reach out to me you can email me at Blessedmamapodcast@gmail.com or find me on Instagram at blessedmamapodcast.
Being patient and waiting on anything today is very difficult. Especially in the world we live in, most services and apps are used to get quicker results or get our orders faster. Being in a season of waiting currently has reminded me that it's in the period of waiting when God is working and shaping us. Thanks for listening mamas, if you are enjoying the podcast please share it with your friends and family! If you would like to reach out to me you can email me at Blessedmamapodcast@gmail.com or find me on Instagram at blessedmamapodcast.
On todays episode I talk about things I NEVER thought I would do as a mama. Boy was I WRONG! It's kind of funny to look back and think about what I thought motherhood would be like. If you would like to reach out to me you can email me at Blessedmamapodcast@gmail.com or find me on Instagram at blessedmamapodcast.
My main question today is how can fellow Christ followers support the Biden/Harris administration along with the democratic party? How? When everything they stand for is against what the Bible stands for. I talk about the Biden/Harris policies regarding Women, Abortion statistics from LiveAction.Org and what Planned Parenthood says about how pregnancy happens. If you would like to reach out to me you can email me at Blessedmamapodcast@gmail.com or find me on Instagram at blessedmamapodcast.
Hi Mamas! On this episode I talk about how awkward and hard it can be to make friends not only as an adult, but as a mama. Do you have any tips on making friends as an adult? ***SPOILER ALERT*** I talk about Firefly Lane and how much different the show and book are, and I also discuss why I think that God wants us to have friends in our lives. If you would like to give me some advice on how to make friends email me at Blessedmamapodcast@gmail.com or find me on Instagram at blessedmamapodcast.
Hi Mamas, I am back! I know it's been so long since I have uploaded an episode, and I'm so sorry! I NEVER intended to have such a long break in between episodes. On this episode I give an update on what has been going on, and what I've been up to. I missed you mamas, and I can't wait to continue to post!
What does the Bible say about being blessed? I catch you up on my life the past week and we talk about Matthew 5:1-12 where Jesus gives the Sermon on the mount. The Beatitudes have a lot to say about what it means to be blessed. Please read this scripture and think about how we may need to shift the way we think about being blessed. Don't forget you can find me on Instagram at blessedmamapodcast and you can email me at Blessedmamapodcast@gmail.com with any questions or comments! I hope you're having a very blessed day Mamas!
All this talk about mandatory (fill in the blank) curfews, and our future is very unsettling. I can't help but wonder, how far will this go? What are your thoughts, and what do you think? Don't forget you can find me on Instagram at blessedmamapodcast and you can email me at Blessedmamapodcast@gmail.com with any questions or comments! I hope you're having a very blessed day Mamas!
On this episode I talked to wife, mother and author Kate Merrick! Kate is the author of two books that have helped me tremendously, the 1st book And Still She Laughs released in 2017, and 2nd book Here, Now released in 2019. She is the cofounder of the Reality family of churches along with her husband, Britt. She recently started a business called Mijas Del Mar meaning: “Daughters of the sea.” You won't find Kate on Instagram, but you can check out her awesome pieces on the Mijas Del Mar Instagram! If I'm being honest I really wanted to cut a lot of this episode out. When editing it I felt like I talked and shared way too much. I got very self conscious, but ultimately I decided that this is why I started the podcast, to be real, raw and relatable. So I left it all in. Please be kind, I do giggle a lot, and at the end of the podcast my son woke up and I held him in my arms while finishing the episode. You will hear not only him, but some background noise. I apologize, but that is real life. Don't forget you can find me on Instagram at blessedmamapodcast and you can email me at Blessedmamapodcast@gmail.com with any questions or comments! I hope you're having a very blessed day Mamas!
On this episode I discuss that I have been struggling with having grace this last week. Losing Grizzly and this election have me on an emotional roller coaster! I reached for my journal and began flipping through it reading notes from church and journaling from my Israel trip. I came across notes from 1 John 3 and thought they would be helpful to share. Don't forget you can find me on Instagram at blessedmamapodcast and you can email me at Blessedmamapodcast@gmail.com with any questions or comments! I hope you're having a very blessed day Mamas!
***Warning*** I do mention some graphic descriptions about rabies testing. On this episode I discuss why we had to make the very difficult decision to put our beloved dog Grizzly down. We are heartbroken, but our beloved pup is in heaven now, and he will be missed so incredibly much.
On this episode I give a life update, and discuss something I've really battled sharing with you. I pray that me sharing will help others that may be experiencing similar situations. I keep saying I want to be "raw and real" well here is the raw and real! I also talked about how I seem to set very high expectations, which tends to lead me to feelings of disappointment. Guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:23 This scripture really stuck out to me this past weekend, and I really need to stop setting the bar so high for people and events and just go with the flow! Let God lead the way, and find my worth in Him. Don't forget you can find me on Instagram at blessedmamapodcast and you can email me at Blessedmamapodcast@gmail.com with any questions or comments! I hope you're having a very blessed day Mamas!
On this episode of the Blessed Mama Podcast I discussed all things food allergies with fellow allergy mama Rachel McFall. Rachel is the author of the allerGene-friendly Blog. I found her blog shortly after my sons anaphylaxis. Being thrown into this world can be very overwhelming, and terrifying at the same time. I learned so much from Rachels blog and Instagram make sure to check them out! And if you are here because you are now a part of the allergy mom club, welcome! Know that you are not alone, you are going to get through this, and it is all going to be ok. We found out that our son is allergic to peanuts during his 6th introduction to peanut butter puffs. This was the most terrifying experience I have ever been through to date. By the grace of God he is still here with us. On this episode I give you a play by play through our nightmare. I also touch on the fact that we started Baby Led Weaning at 6 months old. If you are interested in Baby-Led weaning I highly recommend reading Eat the Eight Book by Ron Sunog MD and Baby-led Weaning by Gill Rapley and Tracey Murkett. These two books were full of information about feeding your baby. I would also recommend checking out Katie Ferraro, MPH, RDN, CDE on instagram.
I had the pleasure of talking to Sarah Terkla about all things mama! Sarah is the owner of Rose and Thorn Clothing in Denton Texas. We discussed how she is juggling being a mama, a business owner and a Crossfit superwoman! We also discussed how she is navigating through a recent divorce. Like many mamas out there she is trying to find out who she is again. We often times lose our identity when we become mamas, and she is working hard to rediscover who she is. Don't try to put her in a pretty little box, because Sarah is on a mission to be whoever she wants to be whenever she wants! You can follow Sarah on Instagram at @sarahterkla and don't forget to check out @roseandthornco too!
I was so blessed to be able to chat with Amber Smith about the loss of her son River. We both got emotional, and you may need a tissue or two. I learned so much about drowning and water safety that I never knew before! As a mama there are a million things that we have to learn about, and water safety is one that should be at the top of our list, especially considering our babies are around it every day! I pray that this conversation helps many mamas! Please visit the River Kelly Fund website if you would like to donate: www.riverkellyfund.org Don't forget to #LiveLikeRiv
I wanted to chat, so I did just that. Follow me on Instagram at @blessedmamapodcast and come say hi!
Here's the story of my personal breastfeeding journey. It's been rough, but so worth it!!! I am not a doctor or professional, I am just sharing my personal experience. If you have any medical questions, please call your doctor.
This 3 day weekend was full of fun, and deep thoughts. Mamas you are not alone in your struggles, no matter how alone you feel! I think Daniel was terrified on his way to the lions den, but he made it out alive! God is with us, even though we feel alone. We must lean on Him, and reach out to each other when we need help! Love you!
A quick glimpse of what 2020 has been like thus far. So the paraphrased scripture is "Where God guides, He provides" You can find the actual scripture in Isaiah 58:11: And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. Isaiah 58:11
Here's a little taste of what you can expect to hear from me. I'm so excited to share my journey with you! Remember that just because we are blessed it doesn't mean we are perfect!
