Many young people measure their Christianity by boxes checked and rules kept. In this episode, Bobby Bosler challenges that mindset with the words of Jesus: “But I say unto you.” Victory in the Christian life is not about religion or outward conformity, but about walking with the living Christ in daily dependence and surrender.Topics DiscussedWhat it really means to be “more than a conqueror” in ChristThe danger of checklist Christianity and outward conformityHow Jesus corrected shallow interpretations of God's lawThe difference between religion and relationshipListening to the Spirit's voice in daily lifeYielding to Christ in practical moments (family, ministry, soul winning)Key TakeawaysJesus didn't save you to lose—He saved you to live as a conqueror through His power.A checklist mentality leads to dead religion; true Christianity flows from relationship with Christ.Obedience is not about outward compliance but inward surrender to Jesus. The Spirit of God actively corrects, leads, and guides believers—if we are listening.Dependence on Jesus enables victory in habits, prayer, soul winning, and God's will.Additional ResourcesThee Generation Youth Summit — Learn more and register early for this year's conference.Upside Down Kingdom Series — Read Bobby's articles on the Sermon on the Mount (with audio read-along available).Fellowship Baptist Church Podcast — Weekly sermons from the pulpit of Fellowship Baptist Church in Fairmont, WV. Jesus Followers' Personal Relationship with Jesus Comes from Humility as Sinners Through Seeking God's Mercy in Prayer MESSAGE SUMMARY:  We do not deserve it; but we able to come to God, in a Personal Relationship with Him, because of His Mercy. We are all sinners. As Paul tells us in Romans 9:18: “So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.". With God's Justice without His Mercy and His resulting Grace, you would face only eternal death as Justice for your sins. We can never enter God's presence for prayer when we are in our pride with our focus on ourselves. Also, Paul reminds us, in 1 Corinthians 1:30-31, that, in your Salvation through God's Grace, Jesus makes us “boast” only in the Grace provided us by God: “And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, ‘Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'”. We can only enter God's presence when we humble ourselves in Jesus. Humility and penitence before God invite His presence – here I am, Lord; just as I am; have mercy on me a sinner.   TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, everything in me resists following you into the garden of Gethsemane to fall on my face to the ground before you. Grant me the courage to follow you all the way to the cross, whatever that might mean for my life. And then, by your grace, lead me to resurrection life and power. In Jesus' name, amen.     Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 100). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, because I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Inconsistencies. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit's fruit of Faithfulness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f). Jesus Followers' Righteousness Will Flow, with the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit, from Their Heart Through Their Personal Relationship with Jesus MESSAGE SUMMARY:  You are called, as a Christian, to live a life that is deeply righteous and not shallow, superficial, or hypocritical. As Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:6: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.". Your righteousness, as a Jesus Follower, should flow from your heart and from being in communion with the Holy Spirit. You should allow the Holy Spirit to create a clean heart and a pure heart within you. The righteousness of a clean heart is the righteousness that Jesus wants of His followers, as the Psalmist tells us in Psalms 51:10-12: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.".   TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, help me to grab hold of you today. I need you. Set me free to begin reorienting my life around you, and you alone. Help me to pay attention to and honor how you have uniquely made me. Thank you for the gift of rest. In Jesus' name, amen.            Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 122). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FORGIVEN. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Matthew 5:6; Matthew 5:10; Psalms 112:1-6; Psalms 39:1-13. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.John 8:1212 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”John 9:55 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”John 10:77 Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.John 10:11-1411 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. 12 But a [a]hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. 13 The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.John 11:2525Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Jesus invites us beyond mere belief into a genuine friendship where we share everything with Him. This relationship begins with small steps of trust, as seen in Simon Peter's story of following Jesus' instruction to fish again after a fruitless night. True friendship with Jesus develops through spending time together in Scripture, prayer, silence, and service. As we deepen this relationship, we're transformed—our prayers change, we see others differently, and we become more compassionate, forgiving, and gracious. The goal isn't just reaching heaven but becoming so full of Jesus that others glimpse God through our lives.

In Your Personal Relationship with Jesus, Fast and Feast with Jesus to Drink Heartily of His Word as Jesus Satisfies and Nourishes You MESSAGE SUMMARY: Most of the time when you are fasting, you are thinking about what you must give up in the fast. Rather, in your fasting, than focusing on “going without” you should think of fasting as a call by Jesus to come to Him and feast with Him. Paul's example for us, in Acts 14:22-23, occurs after he had been stoned and left for dead after preaching the Gospel in Antioch. Rather than leaving the field of discipleship in fear, Paul returned the next day to preach the Gospel and: “strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God. And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.". In your feast with Jesus, you can drink heartily of His Word to let Jesus satisfy and nourish you. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Loneliness. Rather, I will abide in the Lord's Presence. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). Big Idea: Growing your relationship with Jesus will also grow every other relationship.  - Part 21 Corinthians 7:10-241. Marriage is a covenant from God.1 Corinthians 7:10-13To the married I give this command-not I, but the Lord-a wife is not to leave her husband. But if she does leave, she must remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband-and a husband is not to divorce his wife. But I (not the Lord) say to the rest: If any brother has an unbelieving wife and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. Also, if any woman has an unbelieving husband and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce her husband.2. It reflects Christ and the Church. 1 Corinthians 7:14-16For the unbelieving husband is made holy by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy by the husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is they are holy. But if the unbeliever leaves, let him leave. A brother or a sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you to live in peace. Wife, for all you know, you might save your husband. Husband, for all you know, you might save your wife.3. Live for God where you are right now. 1 Corinthians 7:17-20Let each one live his life in the situation the Lord assigned when God called him. This is what I command in all the churches. Was anyone already circumcised when he was called? He should not undo his circumcision. Was anyone called while uncircumcised? He should not get circumcised. Circumcision does not matter and uncircumcision does not matter. Keeping God's commands is what matters. Let each of you remain in the situation in which he was called.4. Allow God into your situation1 Corinthians 7:21-24Were you called while a slave? Don't let it concern you. But if you can become free, by all means take the opportunity. For he who is called by the Lord as a slave is the Lord's freedman. Likewise he who is called as a free man is Christ's slave. You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of people. Brothers and sisters, each person is to remain with God in the situation in which he was called.Next Steps: Believe: I need God to restore my relationship this week.Become: I will seek God in my relationship today. Be Sent: I will set the example as a spouse, single, divorced, or widowed this week. Discussion Questions:1.    Do you feel God intends for everyone or most people to get married? Why or why not?2.    How would you deal with being in an unequally yoked marriage?3.    What are your thoughts on divorce?4.    In what ways can believers direct their current marital or single life for the glory of God?5.    Do you judge people who are single between 25-50, and wonder why they haven't gotten married and have kids?6.    How does Paul's teaching on marriage challenge or affirm your personal views?7.    How can the church better support both single and married individuals?8.    Pray for people in whatever status (married or single) they are in this week.

Big Idea: Growing your relationship with Jesus will also grow every other relationship. 1 Corinthians 7:1-9I. Sex can't take the place of Jesus 1 Corinthians 7:1-2Now in response to the matters you wrote about: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” But because sexual immorality is so common, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman should have sexual relations with her own husband.II. A spouse can't replace Jesus1 Corinthians 7:3-5A husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise a wife to her husband. A wife does not have the right over her own body, but her husband does. In the same way, a husband does not have the right over his own body, but his wife does. Do not deprive one another—except when you agree for a time, to devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again; otherwise, Satan may tempt you because of your lack of self-control.III. Singleness is a gift from Jesus1 Corinthians 7:6-7I say this as a concession, not as a command. I wish that all people were as I am. But each has his own gift from God, one person has this gift, another has that.IV. Self-control is only possible through Jesus 1 Corinthians 7:8-9I say to the unmarried and to widows: It is good for them if they remain as I am. But if they do not have self-control, they should marry, since it is better to marry than to burn with desire.Next Steps: Believe: I surrender my life to Jesus today.Become: I surrender my relationships to Jesus today.Be Sent: I will help someone develop a relationship with Jesus this week. Discussion Questions: What is your most important relationship right now?  Why? Do your most important relationships always come easily? Has Jesus ever radically changed one of your relationships? If so, explain.Do you view single people as missing something in their lives? If singleness is a gift from God, can marriage also be a gift from God?Where do you need relationship self-control today?Surrender control of all your relationships to the Holy Spirit this week

*Trigger Warning* This episode contains adult themes, specifically centered around suicide. Listener discretion is advised.Today, Paige welcomes Jay Lowder. Called to full-time evangelism in 1989, Jay is the founder of Jay Lowder Harvest Ministries, an organization dedicated to reaching diverse groups of people with the message of Jesus Christ. Through his ministry, he travels the globe to football stadiums, schools, churches, and coliseums to provide a message of hope to the hurting. Jay developed the nationally acclaimed school assembly Crossroads, which has been presented to 2 million students nationwide. Jay shares his incredibly powerful testimony and challenges us that a “spiritual experience”, while potentially a catalyst for faith, isn't a deep relationship with Jesus - that requires intention, dedication, reading His word, and living out the truth that Jesus is Lord and Savior in your life, every day. Paige's TakeawaysTrust that God is with you and that He has you (and your kids). This doesn't come quickly or necessarily naturally. This takes time in His Word, in prayer, in community with those who have walked with Him longer. Model this to your kids and provide counsel and support so they can grow in their own relationship with Him. Don't pray away the Goliaths for your kids.As much as we want a smooth and happy life for them, we sometimes have to let them make their own decisions (good and bad) so they learn and build their foundation of faith and trust in Jesus. Let them see the real Christ in your life. What does your life with Jesus look like in the day-to-day? Are you modeling Christlike behaviors to your kids? Do they see you reading your Bible and praying? Are you showing your kids that Jesus is priority #1 in your life?Pray for your kids!We can rest in the knowledge that God hears our prayers and loves our children more than we can.Paige ClingenpeelQuestions About the Podcast?
