A deep look into prayer practices for the modern day Christian. Howard A. Snyder was born to missionary parents in the Dominican Republic in 1940, but was raised in Spring Arbor, Michigan. A graduate of Asbury Seminary and the University of Notre Dame (PhD), Snyder has devoted most of his ministry to teaching, writing, and pastoral work. Has been Professor of Wesley Studies, Tyndale Seminary, Toronto, 2007-2012; Professor of the History and Theology of Mission, Asbury Theological Seminary, 1996-2006. Formerly taught and pastored in São Paulo, Brazil; Detroit, Michigan; and Chicago, Illinois. He is the author of The Radical Wesley and Patterns for Church Renewal, Jesus and Pocahontas: Gospel, Mission, and National Myth, The Problem of Wineskins: Church Structure In a Technological Age Prayers for Ordinary Days His main interest is in the power and relevance of Jesus Christ and his Kingdom for the world today and tomorrow. He has written on a range of topics including church history, cultural trends, globalization, worldviews, evangelism, and various cultural issues.
