Ryan Barnett serves on the teaching staff of Truett Theological Seminary (Baylor University), and with the leadership team of the Mid-Texas Annual Conference of the Global Methodist Church. He spent twenty years as a local pastor and learned a lot about evangelism by growing congregations that were focused on winning those who had not yet professed faith in Jesus Christ. In his zeal for seeing the Global Methodist Church become more than a migration of churches from one tribe to another, he has created a resource for the local church focused on organic evangelism – drawing on some of the best Wesleyan voices practicing evangelism in the U.S. and beyond. This conversation will be about what his workbook is about … how to winsomely invite the next ones into the family of Jesus. Find Christ For All here.

In this episode, I am joined by Revs. Samuel Padgett and Jonathan Bynum for a timely conversation on covenant and polity in the life of the Global Methodist Church. Drawing from the work of the Board of Ministry Cohort, Samuel shares how a request from the bishops to address clergy status concerns led to a deeper realization: the issue is not merely structural, but theological.Rather than simply adjusting categories like supply, inactive, or senior status, this group argues that our polity must be grounded in covenant. When theology leads, structures serve the mission of unity and faithfulness; when it doesn't, pragmatism can quietly reshape the church's identity.Together, they explore why covenant must remain central, how proposed legislation seeks to reflect that conviction, and why this conversation matters as the church looks ahead. This episode invites leaders and laity alike to think deeply about what holds us together.Youtube - https://youtu.be/T4OoCHTH7MoAudio - https://andymilleriii.com/media/podcastApple -  https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/more-to-the-story-with-dr-andy-miller/id1569988895?uo=4If you are interested in learning more about my two full-length video-accompanied courses, Contender: Going Deeper in the Book of Jude andHeaven and Other Destinations: A Biblical Journey Beyond this World , visit andymilleriii.com/coursesAnd don't forget about my most recent book, Contender, which is available on Amazon! Five Steps to Deeper Teaching and Preaching - Recently, I updated this PDF document and added a 45-minute teaching video with slides, explaining this tool. In this episode, I am joined by Ryan Barnett, Chief Operating Officer of the Mid-Texas Global Methodist Church Conference, to discuss the recently released book Christ for All: Every Methodist an Evangelist, which Ryan edited. Our conversation explores the theological and practical vision behind the book and why evangelism sits at the very center of historic Methodism. We also reflect on why this book is being received so well at this particular stage in the life of the Global Methodist Church. As Ryan explains, the GMC's emerging identity and shared theological commitments have created space for renewed clarity and common purpose around evangelism, something that proved difficult in earlier denominational settings. We conclude by looking ahead to the future of the GMC and what it might mean to move forward with unity, missional focus, and confidence in the church's calling.Youtube - https://youtu.be/rklZ6k6TEOMAudio - https://andymilleriii.com/media/podcastApple -  https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/more-to-the-story-with-dr-andy-miller/id1569988895?uo=4Here's a link to the book from the show - https://a.co/d/06qWGpCsIf you are interested in learning more about my two full-length video-accompanied courses, Contender: Going Deeper in the Book of Jude andHeaven and Other Destinations: A Biblical Journey Beyond this World , visit andymilleriii.com/coursesAnd don't forget about my most recent book, Contender, which is available on Amazon! Five Steps to Deeper Teaching and Preaching - Recently, I updated this PDF document and added a 45-minute teaching video with slides, explaining this tool. New Hope Daily SOAP - Daily Devotional Bible Reading

Daily Dose of Hope April 21, 2026   Scripture: 1 Timothy 3   Prayer:  Almighty God, We rejoice in your holy name.  We give you glory.  Thank you for a new day.  May we experience you, today, Lord.  May we hear your voice and hear you when you call us.  We want to do your will.  We want to say yes.  In Your Name, Amen.   Welcome back to the Daily Dose of Hope, the devotional and podcast that complements the New Hope daily Bible reading plan.  We are currently walking through the letters of Paul and we are currently in 1 Timothy. Today's reading is 1 Timothy 3. Paul has turned his attention to qualifications for overseers and deacons in the church.  An overseer would have been similar to a pastor, someone who presides over a single congregation, probably in a house church.  The deacons would have been specific people who served in the church, possibly assisting in church admin functions or in missions.  This text indicates that Paul had struggled with some strong-willed and difficult leaders in the church.  It's highly possible that some of the church leaders were bad influences, living too similarly to the pagan culture around them.  We aren't privy to the details but we do know that Paul felt the need to give some basic parameters for who could lead within the young church.  They needed to be people with integrity, people who were mature in their walk with Jesus, and people who were respected by their family and community. Each church today has some kind of vetting process for their clergy.  If they don't, then they certainly should.  Our process in the Global Methodist Church is fairly rigorous and you can be assured that our clergy have gone through a process to ensure their theological qualifications but also their spiritual maturity and integrity.  There is also a renewed focus on accountability.  The reality is that all of our church leaders, lay and clergy alike, are highly visible.  Their ability to withstand the distractions and temptations of the world and stay grounded in the ways of Jesus is huge.  There is so much at stake.  Please take some time today and pray for your church leaders. Blessings, Pastor Vicki

It's Wednesday, February 25th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Yemen authorities arrested 20 Christians Authorities in Yemen, a country in the Middle East bordering Saudi Arabia to the north, have arrested at least 20 Christians in recent months. For simply professing Christ, these believers can face torture and even death. The Islamic country is located in the south of the Arabian peninsula. It is illegal for Christians to publicly display or share their faith there.  International Christian Concern notes, “The arrests in Yemen paradoxically confirm what missionaries and human rights observers have long suspected: despite being one of the most dangerous places on Earth to be a Christian, Yemen hosts a growing indigenous church.” According to Open Doors, Yemen is the third most oppressive country worldwide for Christians. In Matthew 16:18, Jesus said, “On this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.” Christian Canadian fined $750,000 for opposing gender confusion The British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal fined a Canadian Christian $750,000 last week for opposing gender confusion. Barry Neufield is a former Board of Education trustee for the district of Chilliwack. He posted on social media that there are only two sexes, and he opposed transgender ideology in the schools. Neufield wrote on Facebook that the widespread embrace of such ideology has “demonized people of faith who believe that God created humans male and female: In the Image of God.” Judge fined Maryland school district for promoting sexual perversion In the United States, a federal judge fined Maryland's largest school district $1.5 million last week for promoting sexual perversity. Parents sued Montgomery County Public Schools for not allowing them to opt their children out of storybooks featuring such perversity. Eric Baxter with The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty commented, “Public schools nationwide are on notice: running roughshod over parental rights and religious freedom isn't just illegal—it's costly.” Louisiana allowed to display 10 Commandments in classrooms Louisiana can now enforce its law for every public school classroom to display the Ten Commandments.  The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals issued the ruling last week in favor of the displays. The ruling stated, “There can be no doubt that the Ten Commandments bear immense religious significance. … But they also ‘have historical significance as one of the foundations of our legal system.'” Deuteronomy 6:7 and 9 says this of God's commandments: “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. ... You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Vermont foster families allowed to affirm Biblical view The state of Vermont will no longer require families to abandon their religious beliefs in order to be foster families. The new policy comes thanks to the litigation of Alliance Defending Freedom. The issue began after Vermont revoked the licenses of two Christian families for opposing gender confusion.  The Christian legal rights group's Senior Counsel, Johannes Delphonse, said, “This is an incredible victory for children in Vermont's foster-care system.” Conservative Methodist denomination hits 7,000 churches worldwide The Global Methodist Church recently announced it reached 7,000 churches worldwide.  The denomination launched in 2022 after years of internal conflict within the United Methodist Church over human sexuality. Many theologically conservative churches left the mainline denomination since then. The Global Methodist Church posted on Facebook, “This moment reminds us that growth isn't just measured in numbers — it's found in repentance, renewal, and lives being transformed by Jesus Christ.” U.S. economy growing slower than expected U.S. economic growth was slower than expected during the fourth quarter of 2025. The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis reported real gross domestic product increased at an annual rate of 1.4 percent last quarter. That's down from 4.4 percent during the third quarter and much lower than expectations.  Government spending was down during the fourth quarter because of the record-length shutdown.  Chicago man saved baby out of frigid Lake Michigan And finally, a Chicago man saved an eight-month-old baby from the frigid 35-degree waters of Lake Michigan last Wednesday.  Block Club Chicago reports 30-year-old Lio Cundiff was taking a walk along the lake at Belmont Harbor. That's when he heard a woman scream. Gusting winds had sent her stroller with her baby into the lake.  Cundiff can't swim. But he dove in to save the baby anyways. He wasn't sure how long he could keep her above water, but thankfully other bystanders stepped in and helped.  He said, “If she's going down, I'm going down with her. I couldn't live with myself if that baby hadn't made it. … If it wasn't for everyone being alert and helping, I don't know what would've happened. I'm very thankful.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, February 25th, in the year of our Lord 2026. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  Plus, you can get the Generations app through Google Play or The App Store. Hey friends, welcome back to this episode of Anchored by the Sword Podcast. Today I'm sitting down with the incredible Rev. Beth Caulfield — pastor, filmmaker, screenwriter, and woman of God whose testimony is straight-up wild in the best way.Beth has a beautiful new project coming out called “Conceivable,” a faith-based film that tells the real and raw story of her late-in-life pregnancy, her wrestling, the surprising emotions that surfaced, and the spiritual battles she faced both medically and within the church. This movie was born out of Beth's own journey — one filled with ministry, motherhood, seminary, shock, surrender, and the unmistakable leading of the Holy Spirit. Today we talk about the making of the film, what it was like to return to screenwriting later in life, and how God is using her story to spark conversations about faith, life, and calling in a complicated world.Beth shares about:• God's unexpected adventures• Writing a screenplay in her 50s• Taking a faith-based film project onto a secular college campus• Raising her family while raising ministries• Her daughter's surprise role in the film• Her heart to help others step into Christian filmmaking• How God uses every season — even the ones we didn't chooseThis conversation is honest, tender, surprising, and full of hope. I can't wait for you to hear it.Listen in and be encouraged — God is not done writing your story.Bio:Rev. Beth Caulfield is the writer, co-director and producer of the new film and movement: Conceivable. The movie is about a minister in midlife that has an unplanned pregnancy. The movement is about building community around compassionate conversation and saving lives. Conceivable reimagines the traditional streaming experience utilizing new generation technology. Offered more than a traditional streaming experience, viewers can watch exclusive PVOD events, join live meet-and-greets with directors, actors, and specialists, take part in discussions, and directly connect with filmmakers to host local screenings. It's Tuesday, October 14th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Chinese Communists detain dozens of leaders of unregistered church The American State Department has condemned the Chinese Communist Party's recent detention of dozens of Christian leaders of the unregistered house Zion Church in Beijing. The arrests included the prominent Chinese Pastor Mingri “Ezra” Jin.  Zion Church includes 10,000 people from at least 40 Chinese cities -- making it  one of the largest house churches in China.   Secretary of State Marco Rubio is calling on the Communists to “immediately release the detained church leaders and to allow all people of faith, including members of house churches, to engage in religious activities without fear of retribution.”   Pastor Jin's son-in-law, Bill Drexel of the Hudson Institute, called the arrests “the most extensive attack on a Chinese church in four decades.” Trump rolls out additional 100% tariff on Chinese imports Speaking of China, U.S. President Donald Trump has announced an additional 100% tariff on all Chinese imports, above and beyond current rates. It will become effective on November 1st. This would raise tariff rates on Chinese imports to at least 155%. The Trump tariffs have not damaged Chinese exports much so far this year.  . .  Official numbers released yesterday indicate a 4% increase on total Chinese exports for the year. This occurred despite a 19% drop in US imports from China year-to-date. The U.S. makes up only 14% of Chinese exports. Israeli leader compares Trump to Cyrus the Great Celebrating the end of the recent war in the Middle East, President Donald Trump talked to the Israeli Parliament yesterday, reports the Times of Israel. Listen, TRUMP: “This is not only the end of a war; this is the end of an age of terror and death and the beginning of the age of faith and hope and of God. “It's the start of a grand concord and lasting harmony for Israel and all the nations of what will soon be a truly magnificent region. I believe that so strongly. This is the historic dawn of a new Middle East.” This comes as the Israeli-Hamas War ends and the twenty remaining living Israeli hostages were returned to their families. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu  thanked President Trump for his support of Israel. NETANYAHU:  “The American-Israeli Alliance has never been as strong as it is now. The President has been an outstanding global leader. He's really transforming the world to better all of us. And I can again repeat what I've said time and time again: He's the greatest friend that Israel has ever had in the White House.” And Amir Ohana, the Speaker of the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament, also spoke in glowing terms. OHANA: “Mr. President, you stand before the people of Israel not as another American president, but as a giant of Jewish history -- one for whom we must look back two and a half millennia, into the mists of time, to find a parallel: Cyrus the Great. “You, President Donald J. Trump, are a colossus who will be enshrined in the pantheon of history. Thousands of years from now, Mr. President, the Jewish people will remember you.” Keep in mind, Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6-7 says, “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace, there will be no end.“ The conservative Global Methodist Church has drawn 6,000 churches The more conservative Global Methodist Church now has 6,000 congregations worldwide, about 80% of which are in the United States.     That compares with about 29,000 congregations participating in the more pro-homosexual United Methodist Church. Barna: 20% fewer churchgoers identify as pro-life Christian researcher George Barna revealed devastating news this weekend. The pollster found that the percentage of American churchgoers identified  as pro-life has dropped off from 63% to 43% in just the last two years. The largest decline of pro-life commitment occurred among Evangelical churches — an incredible 33% decline!   Churchgoers claiming to be pro-abortion increased from 22% to 35% over the same two years.   Yet, at the same time, 75% of churchgoers believe that God is the author of life, and 83% say they believe that every human has value and dignity. The report also found that 49% of Gen Z churchgoers are in favor of homosexual faux marriage. Among the nearly nine in 10 Americans who self-identify as Christian, the most common types of Christian church they attend are Catholic at 39%, mainline Protestant at 20%), Evangelical at 18%, independent or non-denominational Christian at 9%, and Pentecostal/charismatic at 4%. Of American churchgoers surveyed, 34% claim to be conservative, and 20% claim to be liberal. Jesus said, “You are the salt of the Earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” (Matthew 5:13) Gold up 54% within the year Metals have become the preferred go-to for investors, or those who are out to preserve capital. Over the last month, gold is up 11% and silver is up 17%, while Bitcoin and the Nasdaq have been about even over the same time frame. Year-to-date, gold is up 54%! Experts point to the Fed's monetary easing, sluggish economic growth, rising inflation, and geopolitical instabilities as contributing to the trend.  Central banks fighting inflation Central banks worldwide are fighting inflation by reducing their Quantitative easing to tightening, from a peak of $38.6 trillion in 2022 to $29.5 trillion today.  These numbers are still up from $12 trillion back in 2009. The world inflation rate has dropped from 8.6% in 2022 to about 5% today. By contrast, between 2010 and 2020, the world inflation rate was running at 3.5% Government shutdown in 14th day And finally, the U.S. government shutdown enters its 14th day today.   The longest shutdown in history occurred in 2018, over a period of 35 days. About half of the 3,000,000 people on the federal payroll are out of work —or at least are foregoing a paycheck. About 750,000 federal employees have been furloughed. However, the Government Employee Fair Treatment Act of 2019 will ensure that all federal employees receive back pay for the shutdown period, if the government reopens for business sometime in the future.
