In the final episode of 2021, I look at what I did wrong in the past year and how I intend to live my life in 2022. I discuss goals for the new year, and being honest with what is holding me back. I have been away for a while. I had a few bad days and gave in to my previous coping mechanisms. I realized I didn't want to give up on this podcast, and I didn't want to give up on myself. So, I am being honest about my recent struggles, and going to start putting in the work to better myself. Feel free to reach out to me at trin@everybreathpodcast.com
I was inspired by a moment from comedian Bill Burr's "Monday Morning Podcast" where he talked about chasing his dreams. I absolutely found this to be super inspirational, and I wanted to do an episode discussing how I have used his advice to start chasing my own dreams. The only way you can grow is to challenge yourself. In this episode, I discuss how constantly challenging myself has made me realize that I can accomplish anything. I continue to grow by challenging myself in all aspects of my life, and I hope you will challenge yourself too. We are stronger in numbers! Feel free to reach out to me at trin@everybreathpodcast.com
In today's episode, I talk about how I have reinvented myself and how others have perceived this attempt. You can reinvent yourself every day without changing yourself completely. You just have to figure out who you want to become, and start making little incremental changes to your day to day life. Feel free to reach out to me at Trin@everybreathpodcast.com
I was inspired by the story of Nelson Rego, a blind man who plays goalie in a recreational hockey league, and it made me realize that the only person who can put limits on us is ourselves. In this episode I took about how we have it in us to live limitless lives. We just have to believe that we can do it. Like Henry Ford once said, if you believe you can do it, you're right, and if you believe you can't do it, you're right. Here's the link to the story on Nelson Rego https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/blind-goaltender-stacks-pads-against-sighted-hockey-team-in-edmonton-rec-league-game-1.6258406 Feel free to reach out to me at trin@everybreathpodcast.com
I had an epiphany while challenging myself to run my fastest 5K and I accomplished it. Once I was done I realized "I can't believe how alive I feel" (Thanks to the Rascal Flatts' song "Where You Are" for that line). So I had to come home and record this podcast. We check back on my six-month plan for myself and see how I am doing. So what makes you feel more alive?? Feel free to reach out to me at Trin@everybreathpodcast.com
After speaking to an old lady about how she and her husband planned to see the world once they retired, only for her husband to pass away before they got the chance, I realized we should not wait to live our best lives. That experience coupled with Jim Carrey's movie "Yes Man", lead me to write this episode. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, so live your life for today! Everybody falls down sometimes, but those that stay on the ground stay stuck. Those that get back up become champions. I had a setback in my journey towards becoming my best self, but I am not going to let that define me. I was able to learn from my mistakes and I intend to use this setback as fuel to prevent myself from going backward. I hope you find solace in this episode. With Mental Health Awareness Month coming to an end, I thought I would tell the story of the night I almost committed suicide. This episode was very difficult to do, but I think it was necessary. If you have ever told yourself "I am broken," you are wrong. If you are still here, you're not broken because you have gotten through everything that has been thrown at you. You are stronger than you think. In this episode, I discuss an important moment in my life when I decided I didn't want to buy into the narrative that I was broken. Please check out this amazing performance by Lindsay Ell and her song "Make You", which I referenced various times in this episode; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EjR0R7wOL8 Feel free to reach out to me at trin@everybreathpodcast.com To follow my Movember movement https://movember.com/m/14628150?mc=1
Lying is done to protect our egos from the truth, but if we live our lives lying about our realities we are not growing at all. In this episode, I get brutally honest about how I used to lie to my friends and loved ones about my life because I was not proud of the truth, and it never got me anywhere. Now I live my life as true as possible because I am living the way I want! Living your life with a victim mentality is a loser's lament. You need to stop being a victim and start being a victor. When it comes to achieving our goals, we need a big toolbox. The most essential tool we need is discipline. We have come a long way when it comes to how we look at mental health as a society, but we still have such a long way to go. In this episode, I discuss the inspiration I drew from Vegas Golden Knight's goaltender Robin Lehner, and his epic episode on Spittin' Chiclets. Lehner made me realize that people with mental health issues are still at a disadvantage in our society. This is just a reminder to myself for when things aren't going well...
I've said it a million times, but 85 percent of our fear doesn't even happen. If you had an 85 percent chance of winning the lottery wouldn't you buy a ticket? So why do we let the other 15 percent prevent us from even buying that ticket? Fear can mean either "Forget Everything And Run" or "Face Everything And Rise", the choice is yours. In this episode I discuss how I have stopped letting fear control my life, and I hope that you can be inspired to do the same. I have good days and I have bad days, but I am learning how to not let bad moments turn into bad days. When I get into a lull or a bad mood, I just start running. I get my body moving and I don't stop until I feel better. In this episode I explain how a recent bad moment led to me accomplishing a 6.68K run in roughly 42 minutes. We have all heard people talk about manifesting the life they want, but how do we do that? The secret is to be very specific about the things you want in your life. That way the universe knows exactly what you want in life and can give it to you! I discuss how to properly manifest the life you want and give a few examples of what I am trying to manifest into my life. Do you feel stuck in your life right now? Do you feel like the years just keep passing by and nothing is rewarding? The universe is telling you that you belong somewhere else. I know it's scary, but it's worth it to start over somewhere new. I am currently on this journey, and I hope you enjoy hearing what I feel before I made the biggest move of my life. I am starting over in my life and I hope I can inspire others to do the same. Do you ever get jealous of others' success stories? If you do, you probably aren't happy with yourself. I'm sure you've heard that thinking positively can lead to a better life. You may have rolled your eyes when you heard that, and I sure did too, however it's true. In this episode, I discuss why positive affirmations work, by showing you how negative affirmations work and we don't even realize we are doing that. I highly recommend you download Blake D. Bauer's book "You Were Not Born To Suffer" to create your own list of positive affirmations to speak into your life right away! We all deserve to choose the life that we live, for ourselves. Chase your dreams. Take those risks. We have so many ways to become inspired, and if we seek out ways to be inspired, we can change the world. Seek out inspiration, use it to become a better you, and influence everyone around you. The best metaphor I have come up with when it comes to battling with depression is being a boxer in the ring. Depression is the Mike Tyson, and you're entering as an amateur. However, if you keep training (getting exercise, sunlight, eating well, seeking out ways to be happier) you have a chance to be Buster Douglas and knock Mike Tyson out. I believe fighting depression is real, and I share how I fought back and changed my body to take care of my head. Do you ever find yourself dwelling on the past? Sifting through the "what-ifs" on your life until this point? You are not alone. This is commonplace amongst many of your peers, but if we stop living in the past we can get excited about today and what's to come. In this episode, I share my journey on how living in the past has gotten me nowhere, and that I intend to live in the here and now while being excited about creating a new bountiful future for myself! You can do it too! Feel free to reach out and send me an email at trin@everybreathpodcast.com
If you find yourself feeling down, in a rut, or not happy with your current life, then ask yourself who you want to be in six months from now! In this episode I discuss how I came up with a summary of my life in six months and used that process to start changing my life so in six months now I become a better me. https://www.everybreathpodcast.com/post/who-do-you-want-to-be-in-6-months
