Make your summer a Good Witch, Bad Bitch summer: https://signup.thesistersenchanted.com/gwbbsummer2026✨Why do so many women hesitate to participate in life? Often it's not the body holding them back, it's an unregulated nervous system and old stories about being embarrassed, "too old," or looking foolish. The fix isn't more confidence first; it's self-coaching and energy work that let you create the experience you want instead of just reacting to the one in front of you.I watched a room full of grown adults refuse to get on the trampolines at my kids' birthday party. Grippy socks and all, they sat on the sidelines while the go-karts and laser tag and foam pits sat right there, waiting. And it reminded me exactly what Good Witch Bad Bitch Summer is for. This is your year-three update: how my summer's actually going, where I'm winning, where I'm losing the plot, and how to get yours moving if you've been parked on the couch with your phone. The Good Witch is your foundation: whole foods, 10,000 steps, reading with your kids, living in line with your values. The Bad Bitch is the aliveness: the sky rail, the water slides, the hula hoop you're "too old" for. You need both and the bridge between them is Self-coaching. Your mindset, your nervous system, your words, your chakras, your chart...that's not separate from your witchery. That IS your witchery. A witch is a Woman In Total Control of Herself. She doesn't wait for confidence to show up, she creates it. So what's the worst that could happen if you stop hesitating? You fall in the foam pit and someone hands you out. You tweak your back and meet your heating pad. Or, you feel like a bad bitch because you didn't let your one wild life pass you by.In this episode:• Why hesitation is a nervous system pattern, not a personality trait• The Good Witch / Bad Bitch framework and why you need both• How self-coaching is energy work (and the witchiest thing you can do)• "What's the worst that could happen?" as a self-trust practice• Building foundations now so September doesn't flatten you (womp, womp)

Somewhere in your mid-30s, training can quietly stop feeling like something you choose and start feeling like something you owe. The workouts are still happening, the effort is still there, but the spark that used to make movement feel exciting has gone missing, and most women have no idea how to get it back. I dive deeper into this in this week's episode of Broads, where I take you behind the scenes of my journey in competing at APEX for the second time and what choosing a real performance goal did to my relationship with training. I also talked about what getting 4th place twice taught me more than a podium finish would have, the difference between training to control your body and training to trust it, and why pursuing strength in your late 30s is one of the most genuinely rebellious things you can do. What's Discussed: 02:07) The 150 meters from the finish line: what competing at APEX actually feels like. (05:54) Why my relationship with athletics got complicated and how APEX feels different. (08:14) The biggest thing missing for women in fitness right now. (09:31) Why pursuing strength in your late 30s is genuinely rebellious. (25:13) What getting 4th place twice actually taught me about progress. If OCD or anxiety has left you feeling empty, hopeless, or like the joy has been completely stripped from your life — you're not broken. In this episode, Matt Codde, LCSW breaks down exactly why OCD and anxiety create emotional numbness, apathy, and depression as a secondary effect, and what you actually need to do to move through it.Most people assume OCD is just about fear and intrusive thoughts. But for many people — especially those who have been stuck in the loop for months or years — the experience shifts into something heavier: a kind of emotional flatness where hope feels distant and joy seems impossible. Matt explains how this happens neurologically using polyvagal theory, and why the instinct to "work on the depression" actually keeps you stuck. The path out isn't what you'd expect. Instead of focusing on the numbness itself, you learn to confront the very thing your nervous system has been running from. This episode gives you the framework to understand what's happening and why facing the fear — not managing the depression — is what actually restores your emotional life

Send us Fan MailIn Part 1 we talked about why so many women feel disconnected — going through the motions, life feeling flat even when nothing is technically wrong. In Part 2, I get into what you can actually do about it.But first, a reframe: feeling alive isn't about being happy all the time or overhauling your life. It's about feeling present and engaged — like you're actually in your life instead of just moving through it. And that's something you can start building right where you are.In this episode, I walk through five practical, doable shifts for reconnecting across body, mind, and spirit:Create space — even 10-15 minutes of not multitasking can open the doorStart with micro moments — small things like music, movement, or noticing your surroundings start to rewire the connectionFollow what feels expansive — pay attention to what gives you energy, not just what you "should" doUse your body as an entry point — movement and body awareness are one of the fastest ways out of your headInterrupt autopilot thinking — not perfectly, just more oftenThis episode is a shorter, practical one — exactly what you need to start moving.Resources mentioned: Wellness Wake Up intro program — $99 — LEARN MORE & SIGN UP HERE Support the showWant more? For more information about the podcast, visit www.realbraveunstoppable.com. What happens when you spend more time consuming fear than creating hope? In this throwback revisited episode, Elizabeth updates an older conversation with a fresh perspective: people are more stressed, more anxious, more negative, and more emotionally flat than ever — and one big reason is that too many people are informed, but not inspired. This episode is about more than stress. It's about what happens when you live in reaction mode for too long. It's about why so many people feel defeated. And it's about the power of building something that brings you back to life. In this episode, Elizabeth talks about: why you cannot spend all day consuming fear and expect to feel alive the difference between being informed and being inspired why the world does not need more defeated people how building something creates energy, hope, momentum, and joy what this looked like when she was over 350 pounds and change felt like punishment why some of the best seasons of life come when you are making progress and creating something meaningful real-life examples from her own life, including bees, farming, grants, homeschooling, gardening, and trying new things how to think honestly about what news and social media are giving to you versus taking from you If you've been feeling stressed, flat, discouraged, or like all you do is react to life, this one is for you. Send us Fan MailDo you ever catch yourself thinking "Is this it?" or "I thought I'd feel happier by now" — even when nothing is technically wrong? You're not broken. You're disconnected. And there's a difference. In Part 1 of this two-part series, I open up about my own post-divorce experience of doing all the "right" things while still feeling like something was missing, and why that feeling is far more common than we talk about. This isn't a motivation problem or a discipline problem. It's a disconnection problem.Using my body, mind & spirit framework, I break down why so many women pour energy into two of those pillars while the third — spirit — fades into the background. The result is a life that looks good on paper but feels flat, busy but not fulfilling, productive but not alive. In this episode: why "going through the motions" sneaks up on us, how management mode takes over without us noticing, and why you genuinely cannot think your way into feeling alive.Part 2 will cover what to actually do about it.=== Mentioned in this episode: ===Wellness Wake Up intro program — $99 — LEARN MORE HEREUntamed by Glennon Doyle**Full disclosure: I participate in the Amazon Associates program. Ep. 229 (Part 2 of 2) | In part 2 of our What is Real Greatness Series podcast with Margaret Cullen, author of Quiet Strength, Margaret continues to enlighten us about equanimity: its power, its wisdom, and its practice. She relates some of the history of equanimity—first considered a supreme virtue in Stoicism, then passed on to Sufism and Judaism—and explains that throughout time, equanimity (and humility) have always been an integral part of people who have made a true difference in the world. Margaret talks about how humor can break the spell of our trance (“when we lose equanimity, we get caught in a trance, believing in something that has us prisoner—humor breaks the spell”), and, in the spirit of “The Serenity Prayer” (“Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference”), she encourages us to make peace with what we can realistically do and let the rest go.While Part 1 of this dialogue focuses on the power of equanimity in relation to the big picture and what is going on now politically, in Part 2 Margaret looks at practicing equanimity in personal relationships and in our individual lives. She marvels at Thoreau's equanimous approach to his own death, and shares that she has found forgiveness to be the most important equanimity tool in relationships. “We reclaim our wisdom when we say ‘I'm sorry,'” Margaret explains. Margaret's deep and nuanced understanding of the power and practice of equanimity is inspiring and illuminating, and bringing this virtue to our attention as a pragmatic tool we can use is also incredibly timely, leaving us with a sense of hope and empowerment. Ep. 228 (Part 1 of 2) | In part 1 of our second What is Real Greatness Series podcast, Margaret Cullen, author of the newly published book Quiet Strength: Find Peace, Feel Alive, and Love Boundlessly Through the Power of Equanimity, explains there is far more power in the virtue of equanimity than we may have thought. Because equanimity is associated with non-reactivity, people often confuse it with a neutral sort of feeling, a dampener of emotions, when actually, equanimity allows us to expand our capacity to feel; it widens our tolerance and empowers us to be comfortable with change. “Equanimity is big enough to include our broken, despairing hearts,” Margaret says. “We can hold a vision of equanimity that is completely inclusive of the human experience.” Practicing equanimity allows us to deepen our love—for the world and for others—without becoming attached.Margaret shares practical ways we can access equanimity—ways we can achieve conceptual clarity or a “wedge of spaciousness” when a moment has been hijacked by out-of-control emotions; how we can learn to turn directly and fully to what is arising in the moment; and how we can unhook from reactivity by not taking things too personally. “How can we respond heroically to the times we live in?” co-host John Dupuy asks. Margaret shares what she has learned teaching military units and special forces to cultivate equanimity—equanimity can save lives—and describes a compassion cultivation training program that has been established for police officers in California. Takeaways from this discussion may have important, powerful, timely effects on your life—and all of our lives; as John put it, “Never before have we had such a need for the medicine Margaret brings us.” Recorded January 14, 2026.“How do we care about this world that is in so much trouble without feeling overwhelmed? What do Mirza Ghalib and OneRepublic have in common? More than you'd think.OneRepublic sang "everything that kills me makes me feel alive" — Ghalib wrote the same feeling two centuries earlier. When streams can't find their path, they rise. When the poet's nature is blocked, it flows even stronger. In this episode, Kshitij and Burair unpack one of Ghalib's most quietly radical couplets — and ask whether going in unprepared is actually the best test of what you truly know. Our Reimagined Life: Empowering Me, You, and Us Seeking Happiness and Self Worth
In this episode, I talk about something many of us quietly stopped doing: dreaming. Not the fantasy kind, and not in a “wish-on-a-star” way, but the intentional, soul-awakening kind of dreaming we used to do before life told us to be realistic. I explore how survival mode slowly replaces imagination, and how stress, pressure, deadlines, and the constant noise around us can disconnect us from what truly makes us feel alive. We also dive into the science behind dreaming and visualization. I explain how our brain forms neural pathways based on repetition and emotion, and how consciously imagining a future that excites us can begin to rewire those patterns. When we stop rehearsing problems and start rehearsing possibilities, we shift from scarcity into creativity. This is how our goals should be created. From here. Dreaming isn't irresponsible — it's powerful. It changes our chemistry, influences our subconscious, and helps us reconnect with joy, hope, and purpose. If fear didn't exist, how would you live? What would you want life to feel? This isn't about accomplishing something massive overnight. It's about giving ourselves permission to dream again. Because dreaming is how we begin to feel alive. And from there… we can build. Until next Thursday, I love you. Julie
Why do some portrait photographs feel deeply human — while others, even with perfect lighting and sharp focus, feel empty? In this episode of The Camera Shake Podcast, I sit down with portrait photographer and educator Jonny Edward to explore the psychology behind powerful portrait photography. We go beyond camera settings, lighting techniques, and posing tips, and dive into authenticity, emotional connection, trust, and vulnerability in front of the lens.Jonny shares how his early life shaped his approach to photography and how building genuine human connection transforms a portrait session. SET FREE SISTERHOOD- Mindset and Over drinking Coach -Thriving Alcohol Free- Faith Filled Women
I want to talk about something that doesn't get said out loud enough. A lot of women aren't falling apart… but they're also not fully alive. They're functioning. Showing up. Getting things done. But inside? They feel flat. Numb. Stagnant. If that's you, hear this with love: Numbness isn't peace. It's often unprocessed emotion. When we push down grief, disappointment, anger, or hurt, it doesn't disappear. It gets stored. And over time, your heart stops feeling the lows and the highs. You don't just numb pain, you numb joy, excitement, connection, and even your sensitivity to God's leading. That's what this week's podcast episode is about. We're talking about: Why emotional numbness happens The fear many women have about feeling their emotions The lie that emotions will “take you under” And how God designed emotions to move through us, not live trapped inside us Truthfully? Avoiding emotion is often what keeps women stuck, not the emotion itself. And if you've been wondering why joy feels far away or your spiritual life feels a little muted… this could be a big clue. If this episode hits home, I want to gently invite you into the Collective. This is a space where women safely learn what's going on inside of them, with coaching, faith, and real support. You don't have to overshare. You don't have to be “a mess.” You don't have to do it alone. You just have to be willing to grow. There are only a few spots left, and if you've been craving more joy, clarity, and alignment with what God has for you, this may be your next step.

There is an internal strength of mind and heart that is characterized by non-reactivity and clear seeing. It is a strength that holds the power to help us navigate the biggest challenges in our lives —not by ignoring them, not by reacting to them in destructive ways, But rather by being present with, and open to, all the very real struggles of being human without being hijacked by them. In her new book, Quiet Strength: Find Peace, Feel Alive, and Love Boundlessly Through the Power of Equanimity, Revered meditation teacher and licensed psychotherapist Margaret Cullen, Speaks to how how we can grow our capacity for equanimity. For 3 years Margaret took a deep dive into Equanimity. Meeting with leading neuroscientists, psychologists, faith leaders, meditation teachers, and even a politician,All to explore equanimity's promise. Which she writes:"Is expansiveness. An ability to love life in all it's poignancy; To fearlessly let go of self-limiting definitions; and to see in sadness, fear and anger some of the same signs of being ferociously alive we feel in delight connection and awe. Equanimity is our capacity to be tender-hearted without sentimentality, vulnerable without weakness, wise without detachment, humble without diffidence, and to surrender without passivity."Today we'll explore this promise. The very real possibility of meeting life's challenges from a place of grounded wisdom, And growing the quiet strength needed to create a better world. Kerri Rosenthal is an artist, a businesswoman, a mom, not someone giving up her ambition (is that what we're supposed to be doing at work these days?), someone who's going for it. I watched her this past Saturday stocking pots. I was stacking bedding. I like a woman who doesn't quit, who doesn't quite fit in and who has a drive to make something. Kerri is one of those people. One of the most powerful and courageous practices you can adopt is to review your year—and this is not just something for a business owner. Reviewing your year or conducting an annual review is a great way to consider what the past year has been about, what you've learned, and you can use that information to chart a path for growth. If the thought of year-end reflection leaves you feeling more anxious than inspired? Use today's podcast episode to give yourself a reset, as I dive into How to Conduct an Annual Review (That Actually Makes You Feel Alive, Not Behind)Learn how to conduct a meaningful, psychology-informed annual review that helps you reconnect with your growth, not your guilt. I'm sharing powerful questions to reflect on your year with honesty instead of judgment, identify invisible progress, release what's no longer aligned, and end with gratitude that actually feels real. This isn't a productivity audit. It's a practice in self-trust, clarity, and compassion — the foundation for setting goals that genuinely fit who you are.
So many of us build our lives around avoiding discomfort — keeping the peace, staying comfortable, and managing our environment instead of truly living in it. But here's the truth: when you spend your life trying not to feel bad, you also cut off your ability to feel good. In this episode, I explore the difference between living to avoid discomfort and living to feel alive. I share personal reflections and how over-drinking often becomes the shortcut we use to feel a spark in a life that's gotten too small. When you stop numbing, your world expands. You start to feel everything again — and that's where your aliveness, joy, and magic live. In This Episode, You'll Learn: Why avoiding discomfort leads to a smaller, duller life How alcohol becomes a substitute for feeling alive What real peace feels like (it's not comfort!)
