Do you ever feel lost? What usually helps you find your way back? Today, Jay sits down with @HealthyGamerGG (Dr. K), psychiatrist, meditation teacher, and author of How to Raise a Healthy Gamer, for an eye-opening conversation about why so many young people feel lost and disconnected in today’s world. Together, they uncover the hidden struggles millions face: loneliness, confusion, and the constant pressure of feeling “behind in life,” even when everything looks fine on the outside. Dr. K shares how shifting milestones and rising societal pressures have fueled an epidemic of uncertainty, leaving many to question their worth, direction, and identity. Together, Jay and Dr. examine how ego, technology, and external expectations shape the way we see ourselves. Drawing on neuroscience, psychology, and Eastern philosophy, Dr. K explains how the constant search for validation traps us in cycles of comparison and self-criticism. He offers practical tools for breaking free, learning to tell the difference between “thinking about yourself” and truly “paying attention to yourself,” observing emotions without attaching heavy meaning to them, and discovering peace in stillness. This conversation is a powerful reminder that the way out of overwhelm isn’t found in doing or achieving more, but in cultivating clarity and connection within. They dive into the challenges of masculinity, purpose, relationships, and the many forms of modern addiction, from pornography to overwork. Dr. K emphasizes that true healing begins with embracing discomfort, processing the emotions we’ve long avoided, and choosing our own values rather than living by society’s script. In this interview, you'll learn: How to Overcome a Quarter-Life Crisis How to Tell The Difference Between Identity and Identification How to Stop Feeling Behind in Life How to Pay Attention Instead of Overthinking How to Quiet the Ego’s Voice How to Process Painful Emotions Safely How to Build Healthier Relationships with Boundaries How to Reduce the Grip of Technology on Your Mind Growth doesn’t come from racing toward milestones or comparing yourself to others, but from learning to pause, pay attention, and listen to what’s happening within. Every challenge you face can be a doorway to deeper clarity, resilience, and peace. We spend so much of our lives tied to past experiences and labels, and it can feel like we are stuck there. But you can make the choice at any moment to step into a new direction. It all starts with a decision. This is not about mantras or forcing yourself into routines. It is about trusting yourself to take the first step, even when you do not have all the answers. That first step might work out, it might not, but either way you learn and move forward. Everyone is figuring things out as they go, and you are no different. The question is whether you will trust yourself to decide or continue letting others decide for you.Yes, it will be uncomfortable. Growth always is. But staying under the pressure of other people's labels is even heavier. You already know what your first step is, it is just a matter of whether you will give yourself permission to take it.So if you do not like your situation, if you do not like how you are being perceived, change it. Do not let others dictate who you are or what you are capable of. Their opinions are often rooted in criticism because it is easier to tear someone else down than to build themselves up. Your power comes from choosing to trust yourself and moving forward one step at a time. Please share this episode with anyone you think would be interested in listening to it.Visit darylperrypodcast.com for links to the show page on each of the major podcast directories. Have you ever felt the pull of the world, leading you to behave or think in ways that are not aligned with God's will? This month we are considering the fact that we are at war. Not with a foreign government or domestic terrorists, but a war we feel deep inside our own chests: we are at war with lies. The problem isn't so much that we tell lies but that we live them. This month, our teacher Ben Cachiaras, the lead minister with Mountain Christian Church in Joppa, Maryland, has been exposing the lies that keep us from experiencing the peace that Jesus died to give us. Today, Ben concludes our series “How to Stop Living a Lie”, by again offering some practical strategies for learning how to navigate these feelings and how to help overcome worldly temptations by RECOGNIZING and RESISTING the world's influence. So, here's Ben to help us discover how to “Avoid Being Normal At All Costs”. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/326/29
Ever feel like you're living a life that doesn't quite feel like yours? Maybe you're stuck in a job you don't love, caught in routines you never really chose, or just feeling like something's holding you back, but you can't quite put your finger on it. A lot of that might be coming from beliefs buried deep in your subconscious, beliefs you didn't even realize were running the show. In this episode of Actions Antidotes, I chat with Albert Bramante, psychology professor, talent agent, and author of Rise Above the Script. We dig into what it really means to live “by the script,” how to spot the limiting beliefs that keep us stuck, and why small, consistent actions (not huge leaps) are the real game changers. Albert shares insights from his own journey and the work he's done helping people shift their mindset and build a life they actually want to live. So if you've been saying “someday” a little too often…maybe today's the day to start taking that first step. --- Listen to the podcast here: Stop Living by Someone Else's Script with Albert Bramante Welcome to Action's Antidotes, your antidote to the mindset that keeps you settling for less. Today, I want to talk to you all about kind of achieving your potential and achieving your potential through various different mechanisms. There's no one set way, despite what they may have told you in school or some other traditional childhood component of your life, that there is no one set way in which you can achieve your potential. There are plenty of ways that we could all, as my guest today would say, Rise Above the Script. That's the name of his book. My guest today, Albert Bramante, not only is an author but also a psychology professor and talent agent. --- Albert, welcome to the program. Thank you, Stephen, so much for inviting me. I'm really happy to be here and really happy to be part of the community here and happy to have a conversation, answer any questions and offer any insights that can be helpful. Yeah, that is wonderful. And so the core message behind this podcast is always about different ways that we can kind of achieve the life that we want, and it's interesting that your book is titled Rise Above the Script because one of the common expressions I use is “living by the script.” When we talk about the script, I'm curious about if your understanding of the script is similar to the way mine is. Yeah, I'm not talking about the literal sense of a script, like for a play or for a movie. What I'm talking about, the script that we use as our internal mind and our internal guiding system, in a sense, so it's what navigates our life, what navigates our purpose, and particularly our conscious and subconscious mind. And I use the metaphor of a script because the book was written for performing artists who use scripts all the time, so I used that as a metaphor to kind of help understand exactly what the message is and that is really working, rewiring our mindset, and changing our mindset and changing the approach that we live our life on a day-to-day basis. And is this rewiring of the mindset something that spans kind of almost any kind of pursuit? Because you talk about working with performing artists, we'll encounter people who say, “I wanna level up at my job.” Maybe we'll encounter some other people that'll say, “I wanna leave the nine to five and I wanna build my own business,” or even someone that just wants to create a different community or some other aspect of their lives or they're like, “I want my relationship to better. I wanna have a relationship.” All those different pursuits that we're all having in order to level up our lives, is it similar subconscious pursuit? A hundred percent, yes, because all of that requires you to optimize your mindset and your subconscious beliefs and your conscious beliefs. And what can hold you back from any of these endeavors that you had indicated is limiting beliefs,
When something happens that activates the fear within you, it can be very easy to focus on what you don't want to happen. This can lead you to living in anxiety and worry. This will not help you to manifest what you want and allow you to live in the joy you deserve. Fear is always false evidence appearing real. Join Goldyn as she shares how to face your fears so you can dissipate them quickly and refocus your attention on what you want to happen.

We are at war. Not with a foreign government or domestic terrorists or a creepy new artificial intelligence. No, it's a war we feel deep inside our own chests: we are at war with lies. The problem isn't so much that we tell lies but that we live them. So, do you feel the tug of war in your own heart? This month, our teacher Ben Cachiaras, the lead minister with Mountain Christian Church in Joppa, Maryland, is exposing the lies that keep us from experiencing the peace that Jesus died to give us. You know of course, we are ALL being lied to. In each of us, a war is raging. The choice isn't whether you're going to fight or not, because you're already in the war. The choice is whether we win or surrender. Ready to start winning? Here's Ben with some honest and practical ways to “Stop Living a Lie”. Most people wait for a crisis to start living with intention. This episode is your invitation to stop waiting. After attending a funeral for someone who lived with “no wasted days,” Leslie Randolph reflects on how easily moms can slip into autopilot – checking boxes, managing schedules, and losing sight of their own joy. She shares how the loss of her father during the height of COVID became a turning point, waking her up to the difference between managing life and actually living it. This episode is a call to trade burnout and disconnection for intentional living. Leslie walks listeners through the first, often overlooked step: self-awareness. In this reflective solo episode, Jess dives into a question that’s been tugging at her heart and maybe yours too. After years of defining herself through her roles as mum, wife, daughter, and carer, a recent trip with just her mum cracked something open: Beyond the anxiety of letting go came the realisation of how freeing it is to discover who we are beyond our roles. Jess invites you to consider the you behind the titles. Who are you when you're not looking after everyone else? What brings you joy that’s just for you? Because sometimes, the most powerful kind of self-care is simply pressing pause on the we, and saying yes to the me. Stop Living for the Lord Duane Lawernce The conversation centers around a profound and controversial premise: the idea that the conventional approach of "living for the Lord" may inadvertently obstruct believers from experiencing true freedom in Christ. He introduces Duane Lawrence, an influential figure in Christian ministry and the author of "Stop Living for the Lord." Through his work, Duane seeks to liberate individuals from the burdensome cycle of religious performance that often leaves them feeling inadequate. He emphasizes the radical shift in identity that occurs upon being born again, arguing that believers are not defined by their sins but rather by their new creation in Christ. This episode promises to challenge listeners' perspectives on faith, urging them to embrace a relationship with God that transcends traditional expectations and performance-based acceptance.Takeaways: Pastor Bob Thibodeau emphasizes the importance of understanding one's identity in Christ, as it fundamentally transforms the believer's relationship with God and their perception of sin. Duane Lawrence's book, 'Stop Living for the Lord,' challenges traditional religious mindsets and encourages believers to shift from a performance-based faith to a relationship-based faith with God. The discussion reveals that many Christians struggle with the concept of being accepted by God based on their actions rather than their inherent identity as beloved children of God. Through personal testimonies, it becomes evident that discovering true freedom in Christ allows individuals to break free from the cycle of guilt and religious performance, leading to a more fulfilling spiritual life. The podcast underscores that the message of salvation is not about what one does for God, but rather about allowing God to work through the believer, emphasizing rest instead of striving in faith. Listeners are encouraged to study scripture deeply rather than just reading it, fostering a more profound understanding of God's design and intentions for their lives.
