Kat spent fifteen years certain she knew exactly who she was. She was a horse trainer, good at it, built for it, in it for life. Then a health crisis in her mid-30s took the plan and flipped it on it's head. What came after wasn't a comeback story. It was a slow, deliberate act of becoming someone new: a licensed clinical social worker, a guide for women in transition, and someone who's still figuring out what her next chapter holds. This is a conversation about what it actually takes to let go of an identity you were sure was permanent, and why the hardest part isn't surviving the thing that breaks you open. It's deciding who you get to be on the other end of it, before you have any proof it'll work.A few things we get into: Why "the decision is the miracle," and how one choice becomes the pivot everything else organizes around Why "survivor" is a chapter, not a title, and what it costs to keep making your past mean something about your future The gravestone question she asks her clients (it's not as morbid as it sounds, and it'll stay with you)If you're somewhere in the middle of outgrowing a version of yourself right now, this one's going to feel less like advice and more like company.---Follow Kat and her movement, Soulful Ambition, on: Facebook: www.facebook.com/KatGriffithLCSWInstagram: www.instagram.com/soulfulambitions_with_katg/---Connect + Work with Brittany:Ready to figure out exactly where the gap is in your branding? Hi friend, welcome to this week's episode, my name is Arlina and I'll be your host. Before we jump in, I am excited to announce the launch of my new app, ReInvent.  If you've ever felt like you're stuck, like no matter how hard you work, your bank account never quite catches up to your effort, it's not a strategy problem. It's a belief problem. One of my favorite quotes is from Dr. David R. Hawkins, found in his classic book Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender, is:  "The unconscious will allow us to have only what we believe we deserve. The more we hang on to our negativity and small self-image that results, the less we think we deserve." I've spent 32 years studying behavior change and subconscious beliefs, and working with thousands of people. The ones who make lasting change and thrive are those who do the work of reinventing their identity. That's why I built the Reinvent app. It's a daily practice, just a few minutes each morning and at the end of the day, that helps you raise your sense of worth by creating a new empowered identity, so you start taking consistent action on opportunities that will lead you to achieving your goals. It's part law of attraction, part behavioral science, and it's built specifically to shift your beliefs around money and self-worth. Right now, Reinvent is in beta, and I'm looking for 50 people to try it free for 6 months and give me feedback. Just use the code REINVENT6 when you sign up. You can create your free account today at getreinvent.app. That's getreinvent.app, code REINVENT6 for six months on me. This beta round is going to fill up fast, so register today! In this episode, I sit down with Barney Whiter, financial and career coach behind The Escape Artist, for part two of our conversation about money beliefs, financial insecurity, and recovery. I put myself in the hot seat and let Barney coach me through my own money story. I've been thinking about it ever since! Barney shares how watching his parents struggle when UK interest rates hit 17% in 1981 wired him for financial anxiety that followed him for decades, even after he paid off his mortgage at 33. In this episode, you'll learn: • Why financial anxiety persists even when your finances are fine • How childhood money experiences literally wire your brain • The difference between the presenting problem and the real problem • Barney's complete toolkit for calming money anxiety: sleep, nutrition, resistance training, and more • Why fear is a powerful motivator with a shelf life, and what to use instead So without further delay, please enjoy this episode with Barney.   Guest Website: https://theescapeartist.me/

Together, they discuss why Ai may represent a similar cognitive shift, changing how entrepreneurs think, solve problems, and create value long before its full impact becomes obvious. The conversation explores why markets adopt transformational ideas faster than institutions, why entrepreneurs often recognize opportunity before everyone else, and why treating Ai as infrastructure instead of a novelty may shape the future of business, education, healthcare, and innovation. If you're building a company, leading a team, or simply trying to understand where technology is taking us, this episode offers an insightful framework for thinking about what's coming next.In this episode, Dan and I break down:Why Dan compares Ai to the invention of zeroHow cognitive breakthroughs reshape entire civilizationsWhy entrepreneurs adopt new capabilities before institutionsAi as infrastructure instead of just another software toolHow innovation accelerates when thinking changesWhy healthcare, education, and science may evolve rapidlyThe role of entrepreneurs in building the next generation of businessesWhy history offers clues about the future of Ai The future belongs to the people who learn faster, think differently, and build with Ai. Guest JoAnne Duncan has had a varied career, from Alaskan fly-fishing guide to elementary teacher and principal, always focused on valuing the strengths of every student and staff member. Though she's stepped away from her career in public education, she continues to learn, grow, and inspire others. A lifelong learner, she finds joy and insight outdoors, exploring nature and discovering new ideas, always growing, always learning, and always curious.   Summary In Part 1 of this episode, JoAnne reflected on her unconventional path into education, her transition into school leadership, and ultimately her decision to leave the profession because of the toll it was taking on her physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Since leaving, JoAnne has focused on what she calls "radical self-care," prioritizing physical and mental health through activities like yoga, swimming, and surfing in Hawaii. This period of recovery has restored her well-being and opened space for reflection about her future. While she continues to enjoy substitute teaching, she is exploring new directions, particularly those involving helping others, possibly through fitness, motivation, or personal growth. JoAnne and I have known each other for years, so when I learned she was struggling with what to do next, I proposed that we both read Elizabeth Weingarten's book, How to Fall in Love with Questions: A New Way to Thrive in Times of Uncertainty, to see what comes up for us. The central message of the book is that uncertainty is not a problem to be solved as quickly as possible; it is a condition of life that can foster growth, insight, and self-discovery when approached with curiosity and patience. The book was inspired by Elizabeth's own questions and her reading of the Austrian poet Rainer Maria Rilke, who believed that we can benefit from "falling in love with our questions"—in effect, living patiently with them. Part 2, then, explores our takeaways from reading Elizabeth's book. You can hear my conversation with Elizabeth in episode #421: https://bit.ly/44HQsAk A key takeaway Burnout isn't always a signal to work harder—it may be an invitation to rethink the questions you're asking about your life. By embracing uncertainty with curiosity and self-compassion, you can find opportunities that align more closely with your values and well-being. Can Bordeaux adapt to changing wine tastes without losing its identity? Bordeaux is pulling up thousands of hectares of vines because of overproduction. How does Mouton Cadet's model offer a way out for some wine growers? How are modern Bordeaux producers, like Mouton Cadet, creating wines with more energy, smoothness, and drinkability for today's consumers? In this episode of the Unreserved Wine Talk podcast, I'm chatting with Véronique Hombroekx, the Managing Director for the Mouton Cadet Brand and Jérôme Aguirre, Director, Mouton Cadet Wines, about their Fair for Life program. You can find the wines we discussed at https://www.nataliemaclean.com/winepicks.   Highlights Why did Canada become one of the first markets chosen for Mouton Cadet's Fair for Life launch? What does the success of Fair for Life wines in Canada reveal about today's wine consumers? Why does Veronique see consumer support as a direct investment in the future of winegrowers? How is Mouton Cadet helping consumers understand what the Fair for Life certification means? Why does Veronique view consumer confusion between Fair for Life and Fair Trade as an opportunity rather than a problem? Why does Veronique believe Bordeaux still faces difficult challenges despite signs of optimism? How are changing consumer preferences forcing Bordeaux to rethink its traditional style of wine? Why do Veronique and Jérôme believe curiosity and humility are essential to Bordeaux's future? How is Mouton Cadet helping growers become more resilient instead of pulling out vineyards? Why is maintaining 30% organic vineyards more realistic than pursuing organic conversion at any cost? What does Jérôme mean when he says the 2022 vintage is "singing" while the 2023 vintage is "dancing"? If Veronique could summarize Fair for Life in a single sentence, what would she want consumers to understand?   About Mouton Cadet's Fair for Life Certification The Fair for Life fair-trade certification scheme officially recognises Mouton Cadet's commitment and makes them unique in Bordeaux. The aim of this certification is to pursue existing initiatives with their winegrowers in response to a range of challenges: economic (more resilient operating models), environmental (support for the agroecological transition) and social (training, transmission of skills). Each bottle of Mouton Cadet with the Fair for Life label bears witness to the combination of a shared passion and a long-term commitment.           To learn more, visit https://www.nataliemaclean.com/396.

In this episode of the Shift AI Podcast, Cynthia Tee, former CTO of Smartsheet, joins host Boaz Ashkenazy for a wide-ranging conversation on what it really takes to integrate AI at enterprise scale responsibly, securely, and in a way that earns lasting customer trust.Cynthia shares her unconventional journey from growing up in Manila and working her first job at a library at age 12, to earning a computer science degree from MIT, building her career at Microsoft, running Ada Developers Academy, and ultimately leading engineering at Smartsheet through one of its most consequential chapters, including the company's transition from public to private and the rollout of its first generation of AI-powered features. The conversation dives deep into how Smartsheet approached AI integration: using generative AI to simplify formula generation and data visualization, being deliberate about what information was and wasn't sent to LLMs, and communicating transparently with enterprise customers who needed to trust the system before they would adopt it. Cynthia explains why trust, governance, and data classification aren't afterthoughts, they're the foundation that makes AI deployment possible at scale.Boaz and Cynthia explore the emerging role of MCP in connecting LLMs like Claude to applications like Smartsheet, translating user intent into real-world action across complex workflows. They also get into what SaaS executives often underestimate: that shipping AI features is the easy part, and evolving the rest of the organization, pricing, enablement, customer support, and role definitions is where companies get stuck. The discussion turns to the next generation of workers and the genuine tension young people face between learning a craft and leaning on AI to accelerate it. Cynthia shares a perspective on hustle, curiosity, and what it looks like when someone who's never written a line of code builds an inventory system for vintage clothing because a tool like Claude made it possible. This episode is essential listening for CTOs, engineering leaders, and product executives who want to understand what responsible AI deployment actually looks like inside a company operating at scale.

But execution getting easier doesn't mean content leaves your job. You can outsource editing, design, even posting, but never the face, the strategist, and the thought leader behind your brand. We're breaking down why even multi-billion dollar founders are still the ones recording and leading their content, no matter how big their team gets. The founders making millions aren't creating less content, they're creating more, because they built the skill first. This episode shows you why content is leadership, not admin work, and what it actually takes to become a content leader instead of just a content creator. What separates a leader people want to follow from one they're quietly escaping? Mark Miller, longtime Chick-fil-A executive and co-author of the bestselling book The Secret: What Great Leaders Know and Do, joins Brandon Laws to unpack the timeless leadership framework he helped develop over 25 years of research. With more than 700,000 copies sold and now in its fourth edition, The Secret has reached leaders in 32 languages because it's built on something most leadership books skip entirely: the character beneath the skills. In this conversation, Mark walks through the SERVE framework, a behaviorally grounded model built on five fundamentals: See the future, Engage and develop others, Reinvent continuously, Value results and relationships, and Embody the heart of a leader. He and Brandon dig into why character is the overlooked "turbocharger" of effective leadership, how most leaders learn by trial and error (and why that fails them), and why the best leaders never stop reinventing themselves. Whether you're a seasoned executive or a new leader trying to find your footing, this episode is packed with practical, proven insight you won't want to miss. I'm really excited to talk with Nadja Piatka, a health influencer in her 70s, who is living proof.Nadja lost everything and hit rock bottom when her husband left. She started a business making muffins locally and, within a year, had products in McDonalds, Tim Hortons, Subway, and more. When she retired, she found herself seeking something else. Her pilates teacher suggested that she share how to stay fit and healthy on social media. She went from no Instagram account to viral posts and hundreds of thousands of followers at Nadja Eat Move Glow. We talk about: Building consistency with exercise and with foodShowing up with the joy of what you do to attract peopleThe importance of identifying your target market and choosing what products or services to share with your audience80-20 living Getting leukemia and choosing how we want to live in later life as motivatorsLeaving or letting go of what's not working for you to make room for what is really meant for youABOUT NADJAAs an unemployable single mother of two, plagued by creditors and no income, Nadja Piatka began baking muffins and brownies at home and testing them on her two teenage children. She was soon selling her baked goods to local coffee shops. Change comes from action. Doable changes are things that you can add into your life, one at a time to make micro shifts and really create a ripple effect that will create a big change over time. Choose one that really piques your interest and roll with it. Here are three Doable Changes from this conversation:BRING THE JOY. If you are creating social or other content feeling like you have to do it, your audience can tell.Try to bring more joy, liveliness, and your genuine excitement or passion to what you create. Think more about what you love and less about how you are supposed to dot it.MORE PROTEIN. We need more protein as we age for day to day and long-term health. Start adding protein to breakfast and weave some into meals and snacks all day. Ideally, you get most of your protein from healthy whole foods, but you can also add protein powder to smoothies as a way of adding in more. Think about swapping high sugar snacks for high protein snacks for double benefit.PRACTICE 80-20 EATING. Try nourishing your body with high-protein, high-fiber, and low-sugar foods 80% of the time. The rest of the time you enjoy your favorite treats — without guilt. Commit to this shift for two weeks and see how you feel.

Brand Your Way to A Million

I recently coached over 10 clients in just a couple of weeks, and I kept hearing the same thought patterns come up again and again. So I wanted to share them with you because if any of these have been creeping into your head, they might be exactly what's holding you back. Content success is way more psychological than most people think. The 5 Thoughts I See Sabotaging Clients (And How to Flip Them) 1. "I've Already Tried That" I hear this one all the time. "I tried reels, I tried carousels, I tried being vulnerable." But here's the truth: most of us have sampled a strategy, not actually tried it. Posting twice doesn't count. Have you posted 50 reels? Have you done 30 storytelling posts? Have you been consistent for three full months? Instead of "I've tried that," ask yourself: "Have I actually mastered this yet? Have I found my signature style in this format?" 2. "That Doesn't Work" This one is dangerous because the second you decide something doesn't work, you stop being curious about it and curiosity is what drives creativity. What you usually mean is, "that hasn't worked for me yet." Huge difference. While you're writing off talking videos, someone else is making a million dollars in a week with simple yapping-style content. The question I want you to ask instead: "What would need to happen for this to work?"  3. "I Can't Because ..." I don't have enough followers. My niche is too saturated. I have kids. I have a full-time job. I get it. But the moment you create a condition for your success, you create a reason to delay it. The goalpost just keeps moving. Instead, ask yourself: "How can I make this work despite my circumstances?" Because people are doing it with the same limitations you have. 4. The Frustration Loop Frustration narrows your thinking. Creativity expands it. When you're frustrated, you want immediate answers. When you're in a creative headspace, you want to explore, discover, and try again. Same flopped video, two totally different responses: "I'm done with this" vs. "Okay, interesting. Here's what I'm trying next."  5. Not Giving Content Enough Time Content doesn't have an end date. Even MrBeast, with hundreds of millions of subscribers, is still sitting down analyzing metrics trying to figure out how to grow. You're going to figure out your first 5K, then your 100K, then your first million, and there will always be a next level. So stop thinking of content as something you're going to "figure out and be done with." It's a forever practice, just like selling is in your business.  CONNECT: Connect with me on Instagram to see how I apply what I talk about on the episodes. How Ai Helps Entrepreneurs Build a Better Future

What if the smartest path to your future runs straight through your past? In this episode of Capability Amplifier, Dan Sullivan and I dig into how Ai is reshaping the way entrepreneurs think, create, and build.I share what I have been doing in live workshops. I use Ai to study a person's body of work, then help them shape a clearer, more exciting future, often inside a single session. We look at the tools that make this possible and why a rough working prototype can do more than a polished plan.Dan brings the strategic lens. He explains why so many entrepreneurs try to escape their past, and makes the case that their history is their biggest asset. He also walks through his free-day system, how he plans and protects his time, and why he comes back from time off with what he calls a new brain. We get into the mindset behind all of it: structure that creates freedom, the kind of client who is the best fit for this work, and why collaboration is the part of Ai that excites us most. The core idea is simple. Your past is your edge. Use it well, and Ai can help you build what's next faster than you thought possible. In this episode, Dan and I break down:How Ai can turn your past work into ideas for your next moveThe tools that make fast prototyping possible, and what each one doesWhy a rough working model beats a perfect planThe paid conversation that attracts people who are ready to actDan's free-day system and how he guards his timeWhy structure in one area of life creates freedom in anotherThe traits that make someone a great fit for this kind of workKEY TAKEAWAYSTreat your history as an asset - your past projects, content, and clients are raw material Ai can shape into your next offer.Prototype before you commit - a rough working model can teach you more in a day than a perfect plan does in a month.Add a small barrier to entry - asking people to invest a little upfront attracts the ones who show up ready to act.Decide your time off first - set the number of days you will not work this year before you fill the rest of the calendar.Guard your free days with a plan - hand work to your team in advance, and protect the time the way you protect a key meeting.Use Ai to filter, not just create - point it at your inbox to surface dropped balls, and at your calendar to match your days to your goals.Build structure so you can be creative - predictability in one part of life frees you to take bigger swings in another.Choose clients who like themselves - the best fit are ambitious people who value their own growth and have invested in it before.Time Stamps00:00 Why entrepreneurs have a real edge01:37 Mike's early-morning Ai workshop02:56 Building a member's future self, live08:55 Turning years of episodes into a book11:36 A faster way to build a business15:14 The paid coffee chat that finds better clients18:19 Dan's Bill of Rights book and faster writing with Ai25:00 Mapping Dan's capabilities with Ai35:16 Schedule your free days first36:44 How Dan guards his free days48:03 Using Ai to clear your inbox and calendar56:44 Your past points to your better futurePS – When you're ready, here's how I can help: Want to discover your next big opportunity? In this solo episode of Travis Makes Money, Travis reflects on some of the biggest lessons he's learned from an incredible lineup of past guests, including Josh Peck, Scott Harrison, Jack Carr, Jordan Harbinger, Randy Couture, Joe Gatto, Donald Miller, George Kamel, and more. Drawing on conversations with entrepreneurs, entertainers, athletes, authors, and thought leaders, Travis uncovers the recurring themes that separate successful people from everyone else. From the power of generosity and networking to the importance of systems, environment design, and earned confidence, this episode is packed with practical wisdom that can help anyone build a more successful and fulfilling life. On this episode we talk about: Why access and opportunity often come from simply asking and leading with generosity The hidden costs of success, including burnout, identity shifts, and personal sacrifice How systems consistently outperform motivation when it comes to achieving goals Why changing your environment is often the fastest path to personal reinvention How confidence is built through action, repetition, and evidence—not positive thinking Top 3 Takeaways Relationships compound when you lead with generosity. The most successful people focus on helping others without keeping score, creating opportunities that often come back in unexpected ways. Systems beat motivation every time. Long-term success in business, health, and finances comes from creating repeatable processes rather than relying on willpower. Confidence is earned through action. The people who appear confident aren't necessarily fearless—they've simply accumulated enough evidence through repeated practice and experience. Notable Quotes "Access comes from asking." "You do not rise to the level of your goals; you fall to the level of your habits." "Confidence is the receipt you earn from multiplied effort over time." It's been over 25 years since the FDA approved a new ingredient for sunscreen in the United States. But a molecule called gadusol found in fish and coral reefs is a promising candidate. It absorbs U.V. rays — acting like a built-in sunscreen for fish. But there's a big hurdle if scientists want to turn gadusol into human sunscreen: They'd need to make a lot of it. A new study out this week in the journal Trends in Biotechnology takes us a big step closer. Their solution? Using the bacteria best known for making your stomach hurt: e.
