Timo Meier called Sunday's game against VGK, the Sharks biggest game of the season. He said the Sharks wanted to play the role of spoiler and knock the Golden Knights out of the playoffs. VGK isn't out of the playoff race yet, but they no longer control their own destiny. VGK needs a lot of help from teams that are ahead of them to make it into the playoffs. Meier tied the game with less than a second remaining in regulation. After a scoreless overtime, the Sharks beat the Golden Knights on the shootout 1-0 to earn the win. The winning goal was by Thomas Bordeleau, who played for the University of Michigan this past season. The Golden Knights started Logan Thompson in net. There is still a lot of rumors and contraversy about whether Robin Lehner is one for the season a is facing season-ending knee surgery. Up next Dallas on Tuesday, the first of three on the road this week to end the season. VGK has to win out to have any hopes of making it into the playoffs. Learn more about your ad choices. Locked On Golden Knights - Daily Podcast On the Vegas Golden Knights

The Golden Knights wound up with just three points in the three Canadian road games. On Saturday, VGK had three turnovers lead to Edmonton goals as the Oilers prevailed 4=0 behind goalie Mike Smith's second straight shutout. Logan Thompson was back in net for the Golden Knights after Robin Lehner left the team to attend to a family health issue. Thompson has lost just three times in the last ten games - in each of those three losses, VGK has failed to score a goal for the rookie goaltender. Chris and Tony also preview the New Jersey Devils game on Monday, the first game of the three-game homestand. The final home game will be Sunday, April 24 vs the Sharks. Locked On Golden Knights - Daily Podcast On the Vegas Golden Knights

We talked about VGK lacking a response on Thursday episode and Thursday night, the Golden Knights spotted the Flames a power play goal early, then Jack Eichel scored to tie the game in first. The goal was a big momentum boost as the Golden Knights erupted for four second period goals enroute to a 6-1 final over the top team in the Western Conference. The Golden Knights were able to avoid a physical Edmonton game early and the Flames wound up getting frustrated and took bad penalties. It was all about VGK's response on Thursday night. And, Logan Thompson was the surprise starter for VGK in net. He replaced Robin Lehner, who was ineffective in the loss to Vancouver Tuesday. Thompson stopped 35 shots in winning his fifth straight game. Thompson, the Calgary native, was excited about winning in his hometown. The Golden Knights Pete DeBoer said he feels VGK has to win five of it's final seven games to get into the playoffs. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

The Golden Knights had a five-game win streak snapped by the Vancouver Canucks 5-1 Wednesday night. The VGK played a sloppy game and turnovers did them in. It was a damaging loss in the playoff race, as VGK could have put themselves back into contention with a win. The defense was not good in front of Robin Lehner who is still coming back from injury. Tony and Chris talked about Jack Eichel, who scored his 10th goal of the season since he joined the team on March 8th. He was about the lone bright spot for the VGK. "This is a playoff series for the Seattle Kraken," is how Tony Cordasco explained the quirky two-game series this week between the leagues two expansion teams. For VGK, they were hoping to have Robin Lehner back between the pipes as they attempt to break a seven-game losing streak. But Lehner was hit in the shoulder by a Jack Eichel wrister shot at Tuesday's practice and might not be able to go. That would leave Logan Thompson as the top goalie on the trip. Thompson has started the last six games in the crease for VGK. Brayden McNabb could return for the Golden Knights Wednesday night. Erica Ayala of Locked On Kraken gives her insights and goes through the stats from the first meeting this season. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

In Las Vegas they call it doubling down. VGK has 14 games remaining in the regular season and both Kelly McCrimmon and Pete DeBoer said the Golden Knights can win nine or ten of those games. VGK is currently a bubble team and desperately needs wins to get a playoff position. Robin Lehner was injured (again) at practice Tuesday and we don't know his status for the Seattle series. He was hit in the shoulder by a Jack Eichel blast. DeBoer said he is day-to-day and the team wants to see how he is feeling on Wednesday morning. VGK plays two games in Seattle, in a scheduling quirk. We feel this is Seattle's playoffs vs a team that was the last expansion team. Dasco also is fired up that the NHL Awards won't be in Las Vegas this year. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

On Wednesday, the NHL voided the trade between the Golden Knights and the Ducks that would have sent VGK's left winger, Evgenii Dadonov, to Anaheim.
