Loyal, sweet, and cuddly. Not the first adjectives that come to mind for so many when describing pit bulls. Well, Shawna Ping of Casa Del Toro Pit Bull Rescue explains why that is. Shawna walks Joe through how some articles and headlines have demonized these animals, the history of the harmful culture assigned and associated to pit bulls, the deep and scary world of dog fighting, and what is being done to save them by Casa Del Toro and other organizations like it. But before that, Joe takes a rare political stance on the recent prejudice by the current administration on the military. Joel Hubert is what the creation of podcast is all about. He is a ultra marathon runner, traveler, and experimental thinker. While in the jungle of Uruguay, he found a retreat where he participated in a sacred ceremony of psychedelic 'communion' known as ayahuasca. He and Joe connect immediately over their issues yet retained respect for the Catholic church, suffering to create an open mind, their experiences with DMT/ayahuasca, what those medicines are, and more importantly what they could do for our culture. But before that, Joe ties a story of his daughter and Disney's Moana to the podcast's narrative that makes him remember a part of his childhood. Listen with caution. Part 2 of the "LIVE from Ontario" is foul but fun as Joe and his friends (Chris, Jordan, and Jake) crush cases of beer while sharing stories from the week and of nights from the past that should have stayed forgotten. They weren't fishing for them but Jordan shares how he was catfished...TWICE. Enjoy the ride and try to stick it out for the whole thing. If you haven't heard Part 1 with just Chris and Joe, then give it a listen as they get more in depth about the art of fishing and the adventures associated with it. Please share where you can. Check me out on IG @joe_clady... I love you
After a week of fish, beer, and bug bites, lifelong friends Chris Egbert and Joe sit down on the last night of their fishing adventure and attempt to recapture it all. They talk about their love of fishing, some close encounters with treachery, the savage acts of a lovable friend, some nasty road trip pranks, and one of the greatest debates of all...A Bug's Life vs. Antz. This is Part 1 of the Ontario debauchery so, to make up for last week's absence, Part 2 will be released later this week. Enjoy! Where are some of the best conversations had? Well, this one took place in an abandoned ice factory (cool, huh?) where Joe talked with his new friend, photographer Sarah Johnston. They revel in the beauty and progress of their city Indianapolis. Then, Sarah shares how she found her way from jean skirts to purple hair, her take on modern photography, and how human biology shouldn't be as taboo as we make it out to be by citing a part of anatomy that every human shares. Sarah treats Joe to one of her signature shots...him in a milky bath with Sailor Jerry's and a cigar. Be sure and check those photos out Sarah's IG @extraoliveplease and on tumblr kairosindy.tumblr.com. And Joe's IG @joe_clady Please share and know that I appreciate the support...I love you
Joe and Jessica have been fellow baristas, missionaries, and friends for years. Recently, Jessica participated in a pilgrimage to Rome where she saw the beauty of the Vatican and many of the iconic neighboring cities in Italy. She describes her thoughtful preparation for the trip, her "mountain top moment", and her veerryyy close encounter with the Pope. Joe and Jessica also go back and forth about the semantics in both religion and science that may be doing more damage than good. But before that, Joe shares his recent dad moment and how it relates to his own dad just in time for Father's Day. Please share this wherever you can and check me out on Instagram joe_clady I love you..
Adventurer, dreamer, soul searcher, luscious red locks. Joe's longtime friend, Josh Matthews, sits down and shares his epic journey down the Mississippi River...in a kayak. With a smile and handshake, Joe met Travis Holdman at his gym...little did he know that Travis was a state senator of Indiana. But, that didn't stop Joe from pestering him until he agreed to sit and chat. Travis shares stories of his work in Haiti, sheds light on some current and past controversial bills, and offers a hopeful explanation as to why the government may not be as polarized as everyone thinks...well, at least not in Indiana. But before that, per the request of some curious listeners, Joe explains the meaning behind "Flying Sign" with a story of when and where it surfaced in his life. Thanks for listening and please share, leave a comment, or find me on Instagram @joe_clady. I love you...
