In this episode, we had the pleasure of speaking with our guest, Liz Murdoch, who is an animal communicator with many years of experience. She helps people all over the world get a deeper understanding of what their pets needs are, and what those pets would like their owners to know. This covers many areas of pet care, including behaviors, medical issues, and end of life care choices. Liz tells us what took her down this path, and how she decided to follow her heart in spite of misgivings along the way. She also had a brief conversation with Gina’s cat which was fun. On the day we recorded this Liz’s new book also went live on Amazon. If you’d like to contact this fascinating person, we are including several links. Let us know what you think! Gina opens with a quote about childhood trauma that she thought would be interesting to discuss. We dived deep into this subject, and looked at how each of us dealt with trauma on our own lives. Psychological trauma is very real and can have lasting effects. Want more of Bill K & Gina Faye? CLICK HERE!

This week we decided to address a topic which many of us tend to shy away from, or ignore. One of our listeners requested that we discuss death, how we deal (or don't deal) with it in our culture, and the reasons for this tendency to pretend that death isn't an inevitable part of life. We looked at how many other words we have for death...someone "passed", "kicked the bucket", "bought the farm" to name just a few. How do you deal with death in your friend group? Your family? And in your own mind? Are you convinced that if you just don't talk about it, it won't happen? We'd love to hear from you. In this episode, we discuss something that happened to Gina last week, that could have cost her thousands of dollars. We are aware that similar things happen to many people all over the country. Thankfully, Gina's run-in with a scam had a happy ending, thanks to the excellent training an employee of a local store had received. We are concerned about this issue, and are working to get the word out, so that others can be aware of how devious some of these scams can be, and not get hooked. Our topic for this episode is the world of on-line dating, and how it has evolved over the years. Gina shares her experiences in this realm over the past 10 years, including people pretending to be what they are not, and how all too often lonely people can be preyed upon by scammers. Bill, happily married for a very long time, shares his perspective, as someone who really has never had any experience with these apps and sites. Hello, all! In this episode we look at the concept of "Acceptance". Gina had shared a post about acceptance on Facebook, and we thought it would be interesting to look at what this idea means to each of us, and the fact that the meaning of the word can be misunderstood. Bill shared that he had, in the past, associated acceptance with complacency, and we clarified for both of us what the difference between these two ideas is. Typically, our conversation went down several other roads, and we hope you are enjoying our meanderings, as much as we enjoy recording them. Your feedback is very much appreciated, let us hear from you! Want more of Bill K & Gina Faye? CLICK HERE!
In this session, we dive into the question of gun control, and the wider issue of what we, as a society can do to make a difference. We both have different perspectives on this topic, although there are areas where we agree, and this made for a fascinating discussion. As the topic broadened, we looked at politics in general, and the value of voting...how can we really make a difference, and can we be confident that our vote actually counts? Our conversation illustrates clearly that people who hold strong views are still able to have an open discussion, and still stay friends. Want more of Bill K & Gina Faye? CLICK HERE!
In this episode we discuss “Setting Boundaries” We used a post that Gina had on her Facebook page. This post outlines a number of ways we can establish boundaries, and provides food for thought about how we manage these ourselves. Bill and Gina both share stories of how having and not having boundaries has affected them in their lives. Want more of Bill K & Gina Faye? CLICK HERE!
In this episode, we just catch up with one another, and enjoy chatting about a range of topics. The two of us challenge one another since we often have quite different perspectives on things. Open conversation is something we value a lot, allowing the possibility of connecting with another person even if they don't see things exactly the same way we do. Gina described a training in listening she did many years ago that taught her the tremendous benefit that can be had from listening to understand instead of listening to respond. Probably some of the most difficult discussions we can have in our lives are to do with the topic of sex. Whether it's talking to our partner, or to our children, most of us struggle with discomfort to one degree or another, depending on our own backgrounds. Jill publishes a blog called "Keep the Talk Going", and offers practical, down to earth advice about addressing this subject in a helpful, non-threatening way.
