In the 36th episode of our Global Service Podcast, we get to meet Bruce and Marla Vlieger. Marla leads ministries to kids, youth, and women through their local church. Bruce serves in a mentoring role with young men who are unhoused both in Denver and their current hometown of Fort Morgan, Colorado.

In 2007, Stan Oakes was diagnosed with brain cancer. After brain surgery and years of recovery followed by a long season of darkness, Stan had begun to experience joy. As a former player and coach herself, Debbie shares her own journey of faith & sport and her passion to serve women in sports and ministry. Bruce shares his journey towards focusing on the unreached students and people of the post-modern world.  But along the way, he shares the roots and history of Global Service Associates.

Returning from a small break, we interview Joe Bucha, who, as a GSA member, owns a counseling practice in Athens, Georgia. In May 2021, Dan was rushed to the ER to repair an aortic dissection.  This began a several-month journey where Dan was on the brink of death.  In our interview, Dan walks us through this, how he clung to hope and the lessons the Lord is teaching him at this time.

In our 8th episode, we spend time talking with Matt Booker.  Matt is the Executive Director of the San Diego Leadership Forum.  He shares of his work with organizational leaders in San Diego county and his thoughts on what it means to lead like Jesus.

In this episode, we interview Matt Jolley.  With his wife Crystal and their six children, Matt lives on a farm outside of Cullowhee, NC, where Western Carolina University is located.  In this episode, you'll hear Matt's passion for discipleship and an update on the residency program located on his farm.

In this episode, we hear from Randy and Cheryl Lee. The Lee's joined GSA in 2009 and pioneered a ministry called Faculty Bridges. In this interview, they share how God is using them as a couple to minister to university professors not just in the LA area but around the world.

For our fifth episode, we 'travel' to Texas to interview Corey Schmitt.  Corey, his wife Caitlin, and baby Layton live in San Marcos, Texas.  Corey works with the CRU team at Texas State and leads Venture Trips to places like Costa Rica and Alaska.  

Mark Mielbrecht shares how God is using him as a catalyst in East Africa through the work of Entrepreneurial Leadership Development.

This is episode 3 of our Global Service Associates podcast.  In this episode, we meet Steve Van Diest.  Steve shares both his journey of carrying on a family legacy around the Great Commission and how God has used brokenness in his own life to help others experience the gospel in their business and marriages.
