Taylor's New Era Divides Fans + Diddy Gets 4 Years + Love Is Blind: Denver Is a Disaster

Pop 3:Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl has officially dropped, and the reviews are mixed! Even some Swifties are split. Though Taylor herself says she's not bothered, telling Zane Lowe she “welcomes the chaos” and knows exactly what she created. Over on Dancing With the Stars, Hilaria Baldwin was eliminated despite being one of the best dancers of the season. Her 2020 “accent-gate” scandal didn't exactly help with public votes. And finally, Diddy was sentenced to just over four years in federal prison after being found guilty of transporting individuals for prostitution; the judge called his actions “a pattern of manipulation,” and while prosecutors wanted 11 years, he could serve closer to three with time off for good behavior. Deep Dive: Love Is Blind: Denver is chaotic, and not in a cute way. Two people (Anna and Blake) literally ghosted the pods, and the rest are giving major ick energy. Toxic arguments, the messy (drunken) Baja trip, emotional immaturity, and way too many red flags. Between Madison & Joe's poolside meltdown, Edmond's boundary-breaking blow-up, and Kacie & Patrick's confusing kiss-and-quit breakup, it's hard to find one solid couple this season. Final Thoughts: Dolly Parton's sister, Freida, sparked concern after asking fans to pray for Dolly, only to later clarify that it wasn't so serious. Freida apologized for worrying fans and thanked everyone for their prayers. *Shop MPT Merch* ► https://shop.hurrdatmedia.com/collections/morgans-pop-talks *Listen to the podcast* ► https://hurrdatmedia.com/network/show/morgans-pop-talks/ *Join my Patreon* for exclusive minisodes each week! ► http://www.patreon.com/morganspoptalks for exclusive minisodes each week! *Subscribe to my weekly newsletter* for reminders, important links, and additional surprises! ► https://www.morganptalks.com/   *About Morgan's Pop Talks* Welcome to Morgan's Pop Talks – your weekly VIP pass into the world of reality TV and pop culture! Send us a textThis week, Big Rich sits down with rising Ultra4 racer Matthew Slyngstad. Born and raised in San Jose, Matthew shares how a teenage speeding ticket steered him into a slow Jeep—and a fast off-road life. From cello and wrestling in high school to wrenching summers in the family construction business, he built the fabrication chops that power his racing today.Highlights: ·       Early days: Bay Area roots, yearbook photo editor, wrestling, and a love for the outdoors. ·       Montana years: slower pace, more dirt—fishing, wheeling, and hunting. - Dogs and discipline: competing in Schutzhund with a powerhouse German Shepherd. – ·       First Jeep mods: rock sliders as his first welding project; Rubicon trips that sparked bigger builds. ·       Ultra4 entry: mentored by Jack Taggart and welcomed into Jason Scherer's Rage 4 team; pit crew to Baja 1000 with Ford's programs. ·       The leap to racing: buying a 4800 car just weeks before KOH 2025; pre-running, shock tuning, and sponsor hustling. ·       Race day rollercoaster: comms failure at the start, blazing desert pace, a boulder impact and broken rear upper link, pit heroics—and a proud finish, 18th in class. – Shoutout to the entire Rage 4th crew—and old-school legend Jeff Mello—for making the dream real.Support the show

Lance shares formative years at Sunray Engineering with the late Tom Ellison, a decade at PSC with Tom Allen, and deep roots in early Ultra4 and King of the Hammers.Highlights: - Early days: fishing, bikes, first wrenching job at a VW/Audi/Porsche shop; first rigs from Suburbans to Isuzu pickups and Jeeps. - Career pivots: dealerships to homebuilding; how 9/11 led to Sunray and custom axle innovation; later years at PSC and into Tribe 16. - Racing stories: Class 3 in Baja, the early KOH era, and a memorable Vegas to Reno with the Texas crew. - Tribe 16 name: a nod to 4x4 (“the 16”) and the “night shift” culture of building with friends. - Today at Tribe 16: customer Jeeps, high-end builds and restorations (Scout, '72 Commando, CJ-7), gear and maintenance, and two new Tribe chassis trail cars. - Community first: Texas trail rides, shop trips, the legendary Crawfish Boil, and why local shops collaborate more than they compete.Lance's take: passion fuels the work, but relationships sustain the business—and the off-road family is the heartbeat of Tribe 16. Support the show

Josh Kremer is the co-founder of Paradero Hotels, a Baja-born luxury brand blending boutique resorts with destination management to create immersive, off-grid experiences. A classically trained chef who pivoted into real estate private equity, Josh brings both palate and P&L to building small-scale, high-touch hospitality. Susan and Josh talk about remote resorts, resourceful resourcing, and refined service. What You'll Learn About: • From chef whites to term sheets: Josh Kremer's zigzag from kitchens to Blackstone to founding Paradero Hotels. • Why “experiential luxury” beats “bikinis + margaritas," and how Paradero designs trips that spill far beyond the property line. • Off-beach on purpose: picking a site framed by five ecosystems to unlock creative freedom (and way better adventures). • Oasis IRL: how Baja's mountains create desert lagoons—and a top birdwatching haven—without cartoon mirages. • The unsexy backbone of remote hospitality: fiber pulls, buried power lines, backup gen, daily procurement runs, and a fleet of guide-led vehicles. • Scale by listening: adults-only → groups/events → families → homes; growing to 92 keys while keeping density low. • Where guests are pointing next: Riviera Maya (not in Cancun), Riviera Nayarit, plus eyes on Oaxaca, San Miguel, and Valle de Guadalupe. • Hiring where others won't: local-first, import managers when needed, and invest in great staff housing for a “soft landing.” • The 10x Rule: whatever effort you think it'll take, multiply by ten (site selection alone jumped from ~20 to 800!). • A perfect Paradero day: sunrise views → surf coaching → chef-driven breakfast → pool + temazcal → farm tasting → cliffside sunset → stargazing net. 1. Expect 10x More Work Than You Think Josh stresses what he calls the “10x rule”: however much effort you think a project will take, multiply it by ten. From evaluating 800 sites before selecting one to interviewing 20 architects before choosing a partner, the reality of launching a hospitality venture is far more demanding than anyone could have anticipated. The lesson applies broadly: if you're starting something ambitious, prepare for an order of magnitude more persistence, patience, and problem-solving than your first instinct suggests. 2. Culture Shapes Business—and Guest Experience Having lived in both Mexico and the U.S., Josh highlights how family-centric culture in Mexico contrasts with the U.S.'s emphasis on individualism. Understanding and respecting those differences helps him build both teams and guest experiences. The broader takeaway: Leaders who work across borders, or even within different communities, need to tune in to local cultural values. This can guide not only how you manage staff but also how you design meaningful customer experiences. 3. Operating in Remote or Nontraditional Locations Requires Creative Infrastructure Running a semi-remote property is as much about mastering logistics as it is delivering luxury. Josh described pulling fiber from a distant city, burying power lines to protect the guest experience, and organizing daily supply runs. The big lesson is that unconventional opportunities often require unconventional solutions. If you're drawn to an out-of-the-box idea, success may depend on investing early and heavily in the unglamorous operational backbone.   Josh Kremer on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/joshua-kremer-bb904a26/ Paradero Hotels https://www.paraderohotels.com/ Other Episodes You May Like:  159: 15-Day Career with Gustavo Viescas https://www.topfloorpodcast.com/episode/159 165: Purple Flower Luxury with Florence Li https://www.topfloorpodcast.com/episode/165 74: Calm and Nurturing Ghost with Trisha Pérez Kennealy https://www.topfloorpodcast.com/episode/74

Today I'm speaking with Seth Quig. Seth is a seasoned outdoor professional with over two decades of experience in outdoor education and international adventure travel. Facebook   Twitter   Instagram Love the show? Subscribe,  rate, review, and share! I didn't pay rent for nearly 10 years. Seriously. I was either crashing in guard houses, sleeping in a tent, or living out of my truck between Idaho and Baja. Some might call it dirtbagging—I call it my MBA in life. Back then, my “home” was wherever the river ran or the mountain rose. I wasn't building a business. I wasn't even thinking about one. I was chasing adventure, guiding people through whitewater and Himalayan passes. But somewhere between the third trip up Kilimanjaro and watching bulldozers drop boulders into a rapid I was about to run… I realized something. Adventure wasn't the goal. It was the vehicle. A vehicle for connection. For transformation. For pushing people out of comfort and into character. PRINCIPLE: If you want to create something meaningful in the outdoor industry—or in life—you've got to stop thinking of adventure as the destination. It's the doorway. The best guides (and entrepreneurs) don't just lead people outside. They lead them into themselves. And to do that, you don't need perfect branding or a 10-step funnel. You need to understand people, risk, fear, group dynamics—and how to hold space when someone's terrified of peeing in a Porta-Potty. TRANSITION: But most aspiring adventure entrepreneurs never make it to that level. They get stuck thinking passion is enough. That loving nature or guiding people qualifies you to build a sustainable business. But loving rivers doesn't teach you finance. Running the Inca Trail doesn't show you how to manage a team, onboard a client, or navigate a cultural crisis in Kathmandu. So what happens? Burnout. Disconnection. Businesses that are all sizzle, no soul. THAT'S WHY: That's why this episode with Seth Quig isn't just about whitewater and trekking tales. It's a masterclass in what it really takes to make a living in adventure travel today. We're talking risk, realism, radical honesty—and how to build a business that doesn't just profit, but gives back. CALL TO ACTION: Tired of feeling like your passion for the outdoors isn't enough to build the career you want? That's because it isn't—not without the right mindset and mentorship. Discover what most outdoor pros get wrong and how to flip the script. Listen to this episode now and find the trailhead to a better business.
