When I first started thinking about improving the quality of my life, I tried to make my husband just as excited about personal development as I was. I'd beg him to listen to the same inspiring podcasts and books that I was into and hoped he would push me along on my self-improvement journey when I felt my motivation drag. But after a while of that NOT working, I figured out it was because I was really pushing him to do all this because I didn't believe in myself enough to push me along. So, we're talking about that and more in today's podcast episode. In this episode you’ll hear: Why hoping your partner will be your accountability buddy isn't going to work. What to do if you're scared of out-growing your partner or you're scared they'll want to leave you. Questions you NEED to ask yourself about to get deeper into your personal development journey. Have you ever had an awesome idea, but you didn't tell anyone about it or take action because you were afraid of failing? You're not alone. I've been there too, but I'm changing my relationship with failure every day. This didn't happen for me overnight. It took me years to figure this out on my own, and it's still something I work on consistently. But it's not just me, the bulk of the time I spend with my coaching clients is spent dismantling the fear of failure and redefining it. Since it is such a significant roadblock for many women I work with, I wanted to make an episode dedicated to it. After you dive into this episode, you'll know how to turn any failure into fuel so that you can bounce back quickly and not stay stuck in disappointment! If you're using it as fuel, then your fear of failure will start to evaporate. Hell, you may even start to think about failure and mistakes as a good thing. This quick bonus episode is a Facebook LIVE I did earlier this week inside of the Action Takers Facebook Group! If you haven't joined us over in the group, feel free to do so here. July 2nd is the official halfway point of 2020. Do you know what I love about halfway points? It's a way to reflect on the last half, evaluate, retweak your plan, and come into the second half stronger and better than ever. 2020 has thrown a TON of curveballs at all of us, and it's going to be REAL easy to lose yourself in all the things you can't control. But I'm challenging you today to look back on the past few months with objectivity and take this as an opportunity to re-motivate yourself on the goals you set. ...As another to realign yourself with the person, you want to be. So, in this Facebook Live, I'm sharing with you the 3 questions I use to evaluate where I am and keep focused on where I'm going. ➡︎ Leaving out all the self-doubt and judgments.

If you've been anywhere on social media lately, you've probably seen fights erupt over topics like Black Lives Matter, Police Brutality and Racism. If it hasn't been clear before, then it's clear now: Racism exists. I know you're someone that wants to make a difference, and one of the most impactful ways we can start to eradicate racism is by having conversations with racist people. So we can do this in just about two ways: -A screaming match, or a calm conversation that gets them to question their beliefs. In this episode, we're going for option #2. In this episode, we're talking about how to get to the real root of why they believe what they do, what to do if voices get raised, and ideas to get them to start questioning themselves. Check out the show notes for more on this: MonicaFrederick.com/ep59
Last month, another Black person was killed because of police brutality sparking a lot of conversation around Anti-Racism, White Privilege, and systematic racism as a whole. If you are white like I am, or a Person of Color who is not Black, it's on us to call out racism when we see it and to have difficult conversations with people in and out of our own social circles about race. In this episode, I'm talking about how to do the thought work you need to do now before you have this conversation. There are lots of examples of how these conversations become volatile when emotions aren't worked though (just take a look at social media), and my hope with this episode is to help you call out someone when they're acting racist.
