Food Habits Food habits is a topic that comes up frequently in my professional, and personal, life. We see people in the Facebook group posting about eating too much sugar in early sobriety, or that they are eating out of control now that they aren't drinking. Some wonder if they will lose weight, others are scared to quit drinking because they think they'll gain weight. I was there, too. I want to talk to you about food, lifestyle, and being health-minded.  Not necessarily about what to eat and what not to eat, although we will talk about some of that because I know what it's like to want to lose weight so badly, and when someone is making good food choices the first thing I want to do is ask, "What are you eating? What diet are you doing? Are you cutting out carbs?" All of these are normal questions, but what I've learned on my lifestyle journey is those are the least important questions to get stuck on. The conversation I want to have is about how to create positive change in your life that you feel good about. Change that is sustainable and that empowers you, builds your self-esteem, and changes your mindset about your life. And that didn't happen for me when all I focused on was the number on the scale and the increasing size of my love handles. As a part of my membership community, the Sober Society, I am bringing in a new focus on lifestyle. Relationships, feelings, finances, and food. Nutrition & Health Coach, Ellie Stewart, is going to share her knowledge and experience about food myths, how recovery can affect food habits, and she's going to give you a few key activities and choices to focus on if you are ready to start treating your body better. It's not about cleaning out all your cabinets and replacing all the junk food with broccoli. Or, wishing you were the person you thought you were when you bought all those fruits and vegetables at the store only to throw them away when they went bad in the refrigerator. Been there, done that. Many times. This episode is to focus on understanding and making small shifts to feel good about yourself and change your life in positive ways and you're going to get some great tips on how to get that party started without turning your life upside down and stressing yourself out. I really hope as you listen to this episode and hear how I approach this that you decide enough is enough and you are going to figure this out in your own way so this doesn't become something that is holding you back from living the life you want to live. My food habits, eating habits, and weight gain were holding me back from that in a dramatic way until I finally hit my breaking point. Ellie offers some great starting tips, a lot of knowledge and personal experience with food habits, and you can get more of her in the Sober Society membership soon! When most people begin their weight loss journey, diet and exercise are the two main changes that people focus on improving to get the results they desire. However, stress is one of the most overlooked factors in the weight loss equation. Not only does stress cause a cascade of hormonal deterrents to weight loss, it also makes you make bad decisions when it comes to food choices. To help us navigate this cycle of stress, we invited April Likins to the show. April is a nationally board-certified health and wellness coach trained at both Duke Integrative Medicine and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Driven by her own health struggles of battling Lyme Disease and Endometriosis, she's extremely passionate about helping empower women to optimize their health by reducing their stress levels, and finding balance in order to start nourishing their bodies from the inside out.

One thing that health coaches can utilize is more data. And since one of the basic tenets of health coaching is the concept of bio-individuality, nothing can give us more precise data than genetic testing. Imagine being able to help clients get specific results that are unique only to them, without the time it takes for trial and error? The value of this is priceless. To discuss how a health coach can get their hands on this, we invited Joe Cohen to the show. Joe is the founder of SelfDecode, the ultimate biotech software platform for DNA and lab-based health recommendations. Joe leads a team of MDs, PhDs and engineers to help thousands of people take their health into their own hands with the health data they obtain through specialized testing.

Ayahuasca icaros, or ikaros, are traditional indigenous Amazonian songs that are performed as accompaniment to sacred plant healing ceremonies. They are musical prayers that embody the powers of spirits of plants and animals, deities, ancestors, and elemental forces. Channeled into this reality by Ayahuasca facilitators and Shamans, they are employed as efficient healing agents, powerful spirit weapons, or ineffable realm creators. Shamans learn icaros through years of training and communing with the plants, whose powers they are to use in healing or divinatory purposes. This training is commonly known as the ‘dieta,' During the ‘dieta,' shamans spend days & weeks in isolation from the community (but, not uncommonly, alongside other shamans in training), fasting on a basic diet which includes rice & plantains with no salt. They commune with the Master Plant once or a few times per day slowly gathering power, insight, and knowledge from the spirit world. Aside from food, they abstain from all other activities as well, leaving ample space for the Master Plant Teacher lessons to come through. Over the course of their training, future shamans slowly establish a strong connection with their plant teachers. As this resonance grows, the dreams, artistic inspiration and aptitude of the shaman diversify and develop as well. At some point, the apprentices are gifted with songs and chants, which they are to use for calling forth the lost souls and their spirit allies, and strengthening or modulating the actions of the plant spirits. I was gifted this haunting Icaro while I dieted an organic version of Agua De Florida. Florida Water is a mixture of several plants and has been used for centuries by healers for protection, cleansing and personal rituals. It is known as the Shaman's cleanse.

It is really easy to fall into the trap that there's too much competition in the health coach space.  As you become certified and look all around you, it is easy to feel like the market is saturated. But, that's simply a thought not necessarily based in reality. How many lawyers enter the workforce? How many doctors? How many plumbers? How many electricians. How many physical therapists? How come these markets aren't considered saturated? Why is it that the mindset of these professionals are so different from a health coach's mindset? To discuss this idea and how to break out of this limiting mindset, we invited Dr. Aaron LeBauer to the show. Dr. LeBauer is the host of The CashPT Lunch Hour Podcast and author of The CashPT Blueprint. He has helped thousands of physical therapists scale their time, income and their impact despite heavy pushback from physicians and physical therapist.

Morning vs Evening workouts. Some people love morning workouts. For those people, working out is part of their morning routine. Other people cannot possibly fathom waking up any earlier than necessary - especially to work out. These people love using their end-of-day workouts to destress and decompress from the day's events.    So does it really even make a difference at what time of day you choose to workout? Yes and no.   In this episode, I discuss the benefits of both morning and evening workouts and provide clarity on which one is right for you.   Have podcast topic suggestions? There's a surplus of information out there in books, online, and on social media about how to lose weight, become healthy, and reach your goals for good. But, it's easy to get caught in a cycle of analysis paralysis and feel overwhelmed about where to begin. That's why Cynthia recommends that everyone works with a health coach, even if they are one themselves.  Working with a health coach ensures that you'll be able to clearly identify what your goals are, co-create the right plan, and then be held accountable for actually making sure that you stay on track. When it comes to health and lifestyle goals, it's usually never just about the aesthetics of losing weight. Deep down, most people want to feel confident and overcome whatever hurdles are holding them back from reaching their full potential.  A coach is able to create a personalized plan for you and hold you to a higher standard than trying to go at it alone. Cynthia also shares some tips about how to find a qualified coach that you really click with and trust that they'll guide you in the right direction.  In today's episode, you'll discover:  Why information alone does not lead to transformation  How a health coach can help you better identify what you are really wanting out of your health journey The reasons why people see faster, more sustainable results when they invest in a coach Cynthia's go-to recommendation for finding the right health coach for you  Important Links: Show notes for this episode Resources Mentioned: Learn more about becoming a Certified Transformational Nutrition Coach Watch the Dream Career video series  Follow Us: Visit our website Follow us on Instagram Follow us on Facebook Connect with ITN student Rochelle Weinrauch on Instagram

Peptides carry out numerous fundamental roles in the human body. They communicate with various segments of DNA, moving data encoded in amino corrosive successions to control explicit qualities in a specific tissue. Bio-regulating peptides speak with their particular segment of the DNA, actuating genes for cell recovery. They can work as cell middle people to control quality articulation and protein combination. He shared the theory of Melatonin, which is a chemical made in the body. It directs night and day cycles or sleep cycles. More melatonin is made when darkness triggers and that is why night sleep is really important for the healthy function of the body. Light declines melatonin creation and signs the body to be alert. Certain individuals who experience difficulty resting have low degrees of melatonin. Talking about anti-aging, Micans shared three fundamentals that we all want, when we will be aging.  Mind stability Physical fitness To be independent Check out the full episode and know about the specification, benefits and the synopsis of bio-regulating peptides that are taking people back to their young age.  ----- Follow me on Instagram and feel free to DM about 1-1 online training @krisgethin Do you need elite sports supplements you can trust to help you achieve your goals in the gym and in life?  Click here https://bit.ly/kgkaged Use the code Healthkik for 15% off all supplements For my preferred Biohacking and anti-aging supplements, go to https://bit.ly/kgbiostacklabs ------- The outcome from using, what is now known as the Visual Chemistry Athletic Skincare range is very clear - your skin will look cleaner, brighter, smoother, younger and will age far better.  Visual Chemistry Gstack Get 20% off and get your G-stack by using code Gethin20 ------- For a range of organic CBD tinctures, bath bombs and muscle recovery creams that I use for sleep, anxiety, joint/muscle pain and relaxation, go to https://bit.ly/kgeliteprocbd

How many times in our lives have we come to battle, saw the giant, and then run the other way? Stop making excuses, stop being afraid! The story of David and Goliath from the Bible actually tells the strong faith and deep love of God David had. When the champion Goliath came everybody ran off and David was there to witness this, he then talked to the king and as he wanted to defeat the giant becuase God was with him. David was told by many that he couldn't defeat Goliath and that he was crazy for thinking he could. Not even Goliath thought David could defeat him as Goliath was trash talking David. David ran towards the giant facing him, he took out his stone, slung it and struck Goliath on the forehead. You can read the whole story of David and Goliath in your bible but the point is David attacked his problems and people trash talking him or didn't believe in him along the way. David believed in God and had faith in doing what was right. Many people who trash talk you when you're up to something and they will say things like, you can't do this thing or your ideas are stupid etc. But you have to attack the problem like David did, straight on. The problem is not the actual problem, it's how you respond to the problem that is the problem. When we make a proper plan, and we attack the problem head on we can take care of even the hardest problems. Whenever you've picked your path, take steps to make it happen. (no matter how small!) She took some time to reflect on what she's loving in her life and wants to keep, as well as what's no longer serving her and limiting her from becoming her future self that will get her to the next level.  Cynthia noticed that as much as she preaches the importance of physical, mental, and spiritual health, lately, she's been neglecting the spiritual aspect of nutrition. The time away from work allowed her to really reconnect with herself through art, reading, and diving deeper into things that light her up intellectually. She's also made it a goal to cultivate new relationships in her life, and plans on reaching out to three new people every day to open herself up to different perspectives and experiences.  One of the biggest ‘aha moments' that Cynthia had during her time off was learning that her new life will cost her her old one. She's making an effort to dial in on her new identity and embody who she'll be when she archives some major goals that she's working on right now.
