As the topic of Identity continues on this season of Beauty Beyond the Ashes Podcast, I continue to be blown away by the Beauty Conversations that I have with my guests. And this episode is one such episode that blew my socks off...and I can't wait for you to dive into this one.Courage Molina brought the fire on this episode. She very eloquently detailed how she came to discover and understand her identity in Christ as God's Royal Daughter! It is so important that we understand and hold onto our God-given identity and DO NOT BE FLEXIBLE WITH YOUR IDENTITY! Satan will come and as Courage details, he will sound like you and talk in first person to get you to believe the lies he is saying to you. But as Courage also points out, your identity NEVER CHANGES!!! Regardless of circumstances, regardless of mistakes, regardless of decisions or feelings...your identity as the daughter of the Most High God does NOT change. You have to listen in to this powerful conversation so that you will truly understand the Beauty Beyond the Ashes of anything that has happened in your past!!!Listen in each week and don't forget to SHARE, LIKE AND COMMENT!!!Connect with TonyaWebsite - https://www.tonyabjones.com/ YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@beautybeyondtheashes/videosFree Mini E-Book - https://tonyabjones.com/4pillarsEmail - bbta@tonyabjones.comFacebook - Tonya Bailey Jones https://www.facebook.com/thetonyabjonesInstagram - Blessed1_t2w https://www.instagram.com/blessed1_t2w/TikTok - Beauty Beyond the Ashes https://www.tiktok.com/@beauty_beyond_the_ashes?lang=en

How can you still show up for your kids/family even when they don't rise to your original expectations or dreams for their life? Particularly, when their lifestyle goes against everything you were taught to believe in? In this final installment of the [EM]Bracing for Impact series, I had the pleasure of speaking with Faith Coach, Courage Molina, about how her own identity was temporarily challenged when her child came out as a member of the LGBTQIA community, and she reminds us that her ministry is her own, and whatever dreams she had for her children is outweighed by the dreams and purpose those children have for themselves. We also discussed the resistance to purpose, the affect of your purpose on family, re-establishing expectations for family to be apart of your purpose, and how support may looks different in various relationships. Key Takeaways/Quotes:"Conflict is a misalignment of the heart and the mind." - Patrice Grimes"It's not personal, but it's personal. It's not personal to you, but it's personal for me." - Patrice Grimes "It was time for me to do for my daughter what I know Jesus does for us, and that is advocate." - Courage Molina"When it comes to sexuality in particular, it seems to be the most difficult things for people of faith to love their children publicly through." - Courage Molina "As long as we can continue having these personal relationships where there is open dialogue where people are receptive to be educated, that's where you can continue to seek the peace for yourself. That's where the transformation comes in. - Patrice Grimes"I don't think every call is for an entire family." - Courage Molina"I think there has to be a certain level of respect that the call is on you, and the responsibility for that thing is on you. I don't require those things of my spouse. - Courage Molina "I think that the reason it can cause more conflict in these relationships is because we put these expectations on the people in our house because the weight of the call seems like a lot because of our own fear and our own insecurities." - Courage Molina "It's so many ways our partners and personal relationships can be supportive of our ministries or business without actually being engrained in it." - Patrice Grimes "It's us relinquishing these mindsets to expectations and what does support look like for you so that you can support the call and business you have for yourself." - Patrice Grimes "We have to give them grace too. Yes, I need support in this season, but how am I supporting my spouse and my family, recognizing that this new thing i'm doing is affecting them in a way where they didn't necessarily get a call from the Lord." - Courage Molina Rapid Value QuestionsWhat is one thing you like to do to sustain or reset your peace?- MusicName one book or song that's helped you to define peace?- The Pursuit of God by A.W. Welcome to the Flow and Flourish Podcast. This is what I like to call a “sister-friend” community, which is the safe space to talk openly and honestly about the challenges we face while managing the competing priorities between our personal and professional lives. Many of us are either in corporate, an entrepreneur of a combination of the two, on top of being moms, wives, caregivers, big sister's or just the go-to person in our circles of friends and families. Having all that responsibility can leave you overwhelmed and depleted if you don't take inventory of where you're at on a regular basis. I realized during my break from the podcast that I only did a handful of episodes around faith. So what better way to jump into the new season than with an episode that will leave you feeling like a sermon on a Tuesday? In today's episode, I talk with the one and only, Faith Coach, Courage Molina, and she breaks down: How and why we put God in a box Why our imagination is the key to unlocking faith How to really get to know God + the Word for yourself After you've listened, I invite you to connect with us in social media. I love to hear how this is helping you, so make sure you tag me on Facebook or Instagram with your favorite takeaway from the episode. As a Capacity Coach, my philosophy is that when you flow effortlessly, you flourish tremendously. And when you do, it allows you to show up in excellence in all the areas of your life. Because I've been in your shoes, I am excited to be your guide on this journey. My promise is to help you increase your capacity by creating balance between your personal and professional life, without ever having to sacrifice yourself, your family, and what matters most to you! It takes courage to do the things that scare you. It takes courage to do things while you are afraid. It takes courage to lead while you're learning.
We build habits that support how we currently think about ourselves. Meaning, your current habits, whether conscious or subconscious, are reflections of who you believe yourself to be at this moment (aka- your identity). However, when we talk about building better habits, it's usually around eating healthy, getting more sleep, or exercising. We don't think about our identity-based habits and that's a huge mistake. If identity-based habits are a new concept, this podcast episode will help you to understand how your habits influence your day-to-day life. An example of an identity-based habit could be when your exceptional ability to take care of your family and friends while working a full-time job makes you identify as a strong woman or superwoman. The reverse of that could be someone who constantly misplaces things may identify as being messy or disorganized. Habits and identity will always work together to shape your life for the good or bad. If you’ve never done a health check on your identity-based habits, or it’s been a while, don’t worry, you’re not alone. My guest, Courage Molina of the Dose of Courage Podcast (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/dose-of-courage/id1239999773), is fully transparent about her life and shares how she uses healthy identity-habits to positively impact her life so you can do the same. Do you often find yourself unable to receive compliments or refusing opportunities that you know you're qualified for? Do you overwork yourself to prove your worth? These actions are a clear sign that you may be suffering from imposter syndrome. If you're not familiar with the term, imposter syndrome is the psychological pattern in which an individual doubts their skills, talents or accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a fraud. It convinces purpose chasers that we are not worthy of advancement and brings suffering to those who are in need of what we block ourselves from bringing to the marketplace. In all honesty, at some point in our lives, we all have experienced imposter syndrome. I've witnessed so many women put chasing their purpose on pause because of comparison and fear that they were not good enough, not smart enough, or not worthy enough. In order to step confidently and completely into our god-given gifts, our future self needs us to overcome imposter syndrome. In this episode, the ladies and I will be breaking down imposter syndrome and the three ways it can show up in your life. We also discuss how to let your light shine, how you celebrate every win, and how to combat imposter syndrome so that you can truly move from Purpose to Platform. Learn more at MasteryandMomentum.com. About Courage Molina Courage knows firsthand what it takes to overcome obstacles and achieve your goals. As a teen parent, she had to work extra hard to graduate from high school, and then as a wife and mother of three, she had to again work extra hard to earn a college degree. But through all of that she never questioned God or the decisions He made. It wasn’t until her cousin died and her marriage took a turn for the worse that her relationship with God started to change – and not for the better. Courage was depressed, and she used alcohol to numb the pain, until she reconnected with God. She owes her recovery, healing and success to her faith and the biblical principles she applied to her life one day at a time – these are the same principles she writes about in her book Power Principles: Courageous Living. Now, as Chief Courage Crusader and as co-coach of Mastery + Momentum, Courage passionately shares her message of confidence, transformation and faith in God. You Are Who God Says You Are When you go through something difficult or you have a setback or failure, you can sometimes become the thing that happened to you. The problem with this is 1) there’s an ever-changing interpretation of labels and 2) you will never be more than the identity you accept. In other words, your goals will never be higher than who you think you are. If you believe, for example, “I’m just a black girl from the ghetto,” then you will never accomplish more than being a black girl from the ghetto. The moment you realize YOU possess the power to change your reality and own your position in this world, you’ll genuinely believe anything is possible. Forgiveness is Freedom Have you ever thought someone needs to suffer for the pain they caused you? Afterall, they deserve it, right? Wrong! It’s not up to you to charge people with their sin. It’s up to you to forgive. You see, when you refuse to forgive somebody, it only holds you back and makes what was done to you an ongoing thought pattern. God’s gift is being able to forgive by allowing yourself to be free of the negative connection that binds you to the hurtful incident. “My healing is my responsibility.” You Must Put Your Faith to Work When you say you believe something, your actions have to demonstrate that belief. It’s not enough for you to say it, DOING IT is what makes the difference. So when it comes to faith, others should be able to see faith at work in your life, like you can see the wind at work in the trees. You can’t see the wind, but you can see the impact the wind is having. Your faith is the same. It should be moving something. If it’s not moving you to do something – to take action – it’s a dead faith and faith won’t work if you don’t work it. “God knows what you’re waiting on when he sees what you’re working on.” @SeekWisdomPCW Positive Relationships Are Your Life Jacket On your journey, there will undoubtedly come a time when you can’t swim anymore. If the only things around you are doubt and fear, it will become more difficult to stay afloat and those negative things will start to damage the resources and people around you. Like our thoughts, our words have the ability to negatively or positively affect our environment. “Words have power, and what we verbalize, we magnetize in our life.” What type of environment are you creating for yourself and other people with your words? Growth Is Not Optional; It’s Required I always encourage people to read books more than once because as we continue to grow, our perception changes. In other words, you’ll read something and it will sound completely different than when you read it before, and the reason for that is growth. “Growth does not happen accidently. It’s you deciding to increase your potential and capacity to learn.” Visit https://couragemolina.org/ to find out more about Courage and her book Power Principles: Courageous Living.
