We also look a bit at Pharisical law and a few other doodads. We begin and end with one of the prettiest tunes I think I've ever heard. Also, please check out a new ministry I am involved with stopsleepparalysis.org Be Blessed. Tomicus Bionicus
In this weeks study, we try to answer the question "How does God see me, as a believer?" This has actually been on my heart for awhile now and I thought I would add to the earlier short topical study we did a month or so ago. This is such an important thing folks, It plugs you into another source of self worth and love and power. The world says one thing, and Jesus says another. Also some bass music from a guy who really could have benefited from Jesus, the late Jaco Pastorius.
We finish off chapter 4 (FINALLY!) by finishing up with the samaritans and take a look at the Galilleans. Also we begin and end the study with some music that tends to make me break out in speeding tickets. Sitting in a stationary place while listening is strongly encouraged. MT
This week we will be having a guest post as Tom Bionic is away on some important business. We are blessed to have one of my mentors in bible study, the deeper christian life. and especially, "walking it like you talk it" here to give us a compelling look at the book of ephesians. If you are confused about grace, mercy, and faith, this is the podcast to listen to. Tom and his wife Debbie run Parent Hope ministries, (http://www.parenthope.com/) which is a school for at risk girls. Its a powerful ministry and I encourage anyone who has a troubled teen to seriously consider checking them out. God works miracles there, I've seen it. Quite frankly I think this is so good, that you will want to burn copies and give it to everyone you know. No tunes this week. Just Gods word. blessings; Tom "knee deep in poisson and mixed distributions" Bionic
This week is a slightly abbreviated podcast, timewise. We continue our verse by verse study through the book of John. Enjoy it folks, and we'll be seeing you real real soon God Bless! Tom....(Insert wittiness here) Bionic
In this weeks topical study of MTBS, we are going to look at the John chapter 4, and the Samarian women. I have to admit, some of this was just so heavy, it took me a long time to figure out what to leave in and what to leave out. I cant wait till next week, to check out the next part of all this. The book of John is deep water for me. Hopefully through our study, some of Gods blessing will splash on you! Also, anyone who can figure out the acrostic below gets an honorable mention on next weeks show! best; yp, npmov
As part of the bi-weekly short topical studies, I thought it would be interesting to look at some "identity verses" that gives us some picture of how God sees us, when we "put on Christ". As always, We'll have the topical study of John on sunday or monday. Enjoy it folks. Tom "Loving Jesus, hatin the NWO" Bionic
The Lord has been speaking to me and telling me I need to pour out all I've got for Him lately, and to be honest, I've resisted somewhat. For that dear listeners, I want to apologize, and I ask your forgiveness. We live in a fallen world, The spiritual equivalent of Chernobyl. Yet God gives us his greatest treasures to handle as believers in the Lord. Human souls. This is what hopefully begins some smaller, more topical studies. It's pretty wide open, but its something that I feel I must do. Everyone, if you have ears to hear. Please continue earnestly in prayer and supplication for the Lord and His kingdom. Thank you for your time! Tom Bionic
We're back after a short hiatus due mostly to computer problems and microphone nonsense. We are continuing with our bible study of John chapter 3, this week, going from 22 to the end of the chapter. We see Jesus and John both in the same area of Judea baptising. It brings on an interesting discussion between a certain Jew and some of John's followers. We look at John the Baptist's response with particular emphasis this week paid to the original languages. We also listen to the great Leon Helms play his classic tune Steel Guitar Rag. SWING IT! Best Tommy B
In this weeks installment of Mighty Tom's Bible Study, we look at the notion, which several camps adhere to, that Matthew 24 does not speak of the rapture or of the end of the age. The idea is that this is to the Jews only, and does not speak of the rapture at all. Hopefully this doesnt half the audience... The way we go about this is to test for coherence using our rapture proof texts, 1 Thessalonians 4 and 5, and 2 Thessalonians 2. The idea is, if Matthew 24 is indeed about the rapture of the church, there will be a number of common points with the rapture event spoken of in scripture. BTW I am leaning heavily on Alan Kurschner's research on this one. A rocking string band version of stevie wonders "higher ground" starts and ends the set. Bring your hankies! Mighty T to the B!
We look at Nicodemus, being born again, and Moses lifting up the serpent in the wilderness in this weeks study. Also, John 3:16 is considered within its larger context of John 3 and Jesus's conversation with Nicodemus. And some surf music. Dig it! Tommy B.
The entire second chapter of John. Interesting look at the the allegorical aspects of John 2
MTBS #4 - The Book of John chapter 1 41-50. Finishes off the 1st chapter of John.
