Every week Sue and Kendra highlight locals who make our city stronger with their big hearts, bold ideas and that unmistakable Boston spirit. Today they talked with Carmen Vega, the Executive Director of Lazarus House in Lawrence. But what makes Carmen's story especially meaningful is that she knows this community on a very personal level. She grew up in Lawrence, in the Hancock Housing Projects, raised by a single mom who herself once stood in line at the Lazarus House Food Pantry. So for Carmen, this work is personal. Plus they have their 2026 WALK FORE HOPE coming up in September.
