For the past few years, the conversation around AI has focused on the technology. Which model is best. Which tools to use. How fast everything is changing. But once you start building with it, a different challenge emerges. The technology is often the easy part. The hard part is everything else. The definitions that don't match. The documentation nobody trusts. The tribal knowledge living in someone's head. The processes that work only because a few key people know how to navigate around the mess. Business intelligence exposed some of these problems years ago. AI is exposing even more of them. For years, the people who cared about semantic models were mostly talking to each other. Everyone else had a simpler view: the dashboards worked, the BI nerds were overcomplicating things, and if a slightly different version of yesterday's question showed up, someone could always write more SQL. That worked well enough until AI agents became the ones asking the questions. Agents don't wait two weeks for a developer. They improvise. And the improvisation is different every time. That's the moment the semantic model stopped being a nice-to-have and started looking a lot more like a requirement. Every data quality problem that used to come home to roost the first time you built a dashboard is back, only now the list is longer. AI cares about policies, institutional knowledge, organizational context, and all the things that used to live quietly in people's heads. The one-version-of-the-truth problem just got a much bigger job description. Along the way, Rob and Justin compare notes from the front lines of building with AI, from multi-agent systems and knowledge management to the unexpected ways these tools behave once they leave the lab and meet real organizations. There's a book update in here too. Fair Game is officially available for pre-order, and Rob shares why the independent bookstore route matters more than most people realize. If you've been wondering what happens after the AI works, this episode is a pretty good place to start. Also in this episode: Pre-order Fair Game: Customizing AI to Your Business Is Easier Than You Think Fortune: Big Tech is laying off developers. My company just hired its first. We're both right about AI (By Rob Collie)

Courts have become central players in some of Canada's biggest political and moral debates – especially since the advent of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. That's raised hard questions about their role, what accountability mechanisms exist, and how Canadians understand the place of the judicial branch within their system of government.Like any other institution, courts depend on public trust which must be earned and sustained.McMaster University political science professor Andrea Lawlor has been tracking how Canadians perceive this institution. She joins Inside Policy Talks to discuss her findings.Lawlor's research, conducted with Acadia University's Erin Crandall, finds that Canadians still generally trust the courts, but this confidence has shown signs of decline, and it appears attitudes are becoming more politicized. On the podcast, Lawlor tells Peter Copeland, deputy director of domestic policy at MLI, that her research found little shift in how Canadians on the political left perceive the courts. However, she has observed a moderate decline in support from those on the right – particularly tied to court decisions on moral issues like medical assistance in dying. However, Lawlor says there is one type of court ruling that tends to register a public reaction across the political spectrum: criminal sentencing.“Those tend to uniformly push public opinion,” says Lawlor. “I think there was some consensus across the political spectrum that Canadians were dissatisfied … and they certainly wanted the legislature to step in.”

Nick said it's a limited pool of players that fit into the typical formula requirements leading up to the draft. Nick thinks it's more likely that Omar Cooper Jr. is the name called at 21 less than a week away from the 1st round. Nick still believes WR is the position they will go with because it's a group that features about 6 guys that have 1st round grades. Nick could see Makai Lemon sliding a little bit next Thursday, but it would still require a trade up. He thinks the Steelers moving up the board in the 2nd round is very likely. Nick pointed to the 99th overall pick as one the Steelers could use as a chess piece next week, unless they decided to draft a QB with that selection. Nick said the gap between Ty Simpson and the QB3 of this class is massive and he wouldn't be surprised if the rest of that crew falls to the 4th round. Send us Fan MailThe Supreme Court is currently considering two major cases brought by West Virginia and Idaho which address state-level bans on transgender female students playing on girls' school sports teams. Together, these cases could determine whether states can legally exclude trans athletes from school sports nationwide. Politicians and pundits argue about fairness, biology, and the future of women's sports, but far too often the voices of transgender athletes themselves get lost in the noise. That's exactly what Anna Baeth, Ellie Roscher, and Chris Mosier are trying to change. Ellie and Chris join Sarato discuss their new and groundbreaking book Fair Game, which breaks down the myths being told through personal interviews with trans athletes and includes an informative look at the research, history, and politics of gender in sports.  They explore the deeper question underneath it all: what do we really mean when we talk about fairness, and why does sports participation matter—not just for elite athletes, but for every kid who simply wants to play on a team, move their body, and belong.Special Guest: Ellie RoscherEllie Roscher is the author of Fair Game, Remarkable Rose, The Embodied Path, 12 Tiny Things, Play Like a Girl and How Coffee Saved My Life. Ellie teaches writing and yoga in Minneapolis. She was a two-sport college athlete, competing in gymnastics and softball, and went on to coach both at the rec, club, and high school level. Ellie holds an MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College and an MA in Theology from Luther Seminary. Special Guest: Chris MosierChris Mosier is a trailblazing athlete, coach, and founder of TransAthlete.com, the go-to resource on transgender inclusion in sports. He made history as the first openly trans man on a U.S. Men's National Team and helped change International Olympic Committee policy for trans athletes. A Nike-sponsored athlete, Chris is a five-time national champion, and relentless advocate for trans rights. Author Ellie Roscher joins co-hosts V.V. Roscher discusses the harmful myths surrounding trans athletes and describes the current bans against their participation as a “solution in search of a problem.” Roscher, who interviewed 20 trans athletes for the book along with her co-author, Dr. Allie Baeth, interrogates the sex-segregation of the sports world and outlines how restrictions put in place to police the participation of trans athletes are rooted in patriarchy and tend to hurt cisgender participants as well. They consider trans athletes competing at the youth level and the negative impacts trans bans have on children who are searching for play and community. She also explains the importance of advocacy and how everyone wins when everyone is allowed to play. Roscher reads from Fair Game. Plus we debate modern dating chaos: Should people be allowed to use heavily filtered photos on dating apps? Why do so many men pose with dead animals in their dating profiles? Is it ever okay to rat on your best mate for cheating? And the big one… Would Danni tell Jadeif Zena was cheating? If you found out your friend's partner was cheating, would you tell them? And what actually counts as cheating anyway? Is it only cheating if it's full sex… or do other things cross the line? ⚠️ Content warning: This episode includes discussion around suicidal thoughts.   As always, expect brutal honesty, unfiltered opinions, and a lot of moments that will make you think “did they really just say that?”

Fair Game w/ Steelers reporter Nick Farabaugh from Penn Live dot com joined the show. Nick thinks there are legitimate concerns with Ty Simpson being a 1st round pick and thinks the Steelers have more pressing needs than to take a flier on him. Nick can see the Steelers trading up to draft a WR instead of just staying put because he believes there is a drop off between the top 2-3 at that position and the rest of the 1st round names. He thinks Jordyn Tyson could be the one to fall out of that group. Is Simpson a better prospect than Will Howard? Nick thinks it's more likely that the Steelers take a QB on the second night or third day of the draft, and that could be Drew Allar. Nick said there were some interesting prospects that went back to school. Nick said Garrett Nussmeier, who has clear connections to Mike McCarthy has ‘tanked' his stock going into the draft process. The Steelers have 5 picks in the top 100 right now and Nick expects them to draft a pair of receivers with that at their disposal.

We had some fun with the way Sidney Crosby says ‘pasta' as Canada gets set for its second game later today. The guys reviewed some answers Crosby gave in an interview about playing in the Olympic games. The guys thought ‘persistent' was the perfect way for Sid to describe himself. One answer they debated was Crosby saying winning the Stanley Cup was bigger than winning a gold medal. Stanley Cup or gold medal? If you're a believer - it's not a surprise. It's expected and frankly, it's Biblical. Enemies of those of faith have decided their politics are worth storming churches. The question becomes what will be done legally? How will churches and congregations deal with this legally, morally, and spiritually? Stigall unpacks the reaction from the leader of the invaded church in St. Paul as well as two different pastors and scholars instant reactions online. Mark Weaver, former DOJ spokesman and attorney explains what the DOJ's role might be. Also, is the FBI and DOJ getting ready to announce some big charges many MAGA folks have been waiting for? John Solomon reports that's the case. Erin Maguire is back for Mondays with Maguire to talk a little football off the top (she's a Bills fan) and what are the optics and election prospects of a party ramming ICE agents with cars and storming church services? And Stigall lays out the evolution of the left's tactics which have increased in intensity over the years in stages which he lays out today. - For more info visit the official website: https://chrisstigall.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chrisstigallshow/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/ChrisStigall Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/chris.stigall/ Listen on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/StigallPod Listen on Apple Podcasts: https://bit.ly/StigallShowSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
