Fair Game w/ Steelers reporter Nick Farabaugh from Penn Live dot com joined the show. Nick thinks there are legitimate concerns with Ty Simpson being a 1st round pick and thinks the Steelers have more pressing needs than to take a flier on him. Nick can see the Steelers trading up to draft a WR instead of just staying put because he believes there is a drop off between the top 2-3 at that position and the rest of the 1st round names. He thinks Jordyn Tyson could be the one to fall out of that group. Is Simpson a better prospect than Will Howard? Nick thinks it's more likely that the Steelers take a QB on the second night or third day of the draft, and that could be Drew Allar. Nick said there were some interesting prospects that went back to school. Nick said Garrett Nussmeier, who has clear connections to Mike McCarthy has ‘tanked' his stock going into the draft process. The Steelers have 5 picks in the top 100 right now and Nick expects them to draft a pair of receivers with that at their disposal.
We had some fun with the way Sidney Crosby says ‘pasta' as Canada gets set for its second game later today. The guys reviewed some answers Crosby gave in an interview about playing in the Olympic games. The guys thought ‘persistent' was the perfect way for Sid to describe himself. One answer they debated was Crosby saying winning the Stanley Cup was bigger than winning a gold medal. Stanley Cup or gold medal? Ellie Roscher, writer, former coach, and co-author of the forthcoming book, FAIR GAME: Trans Athletes and the Future of Sports addresses the myths and fears behind trans athletes' exclusion from organized sports with the latest data and research, and with interviews from 20 trans athletes.

Trans athletes are often treated as a political issue. For Ellie Roscher, they're her students, her community, and the reason she's rethinking what fairness really means. Ellie, author of Fair Game, joins the pod to discuss listening to your body and yourself. She reflects on teaching theology at a Catholic school, learning from her trans students, and her journey as a gymnast whose chronic pain wasn't believed. This episode explores how fairness becomes personal—and why it matters in women's sports. Nick answers the question if the Steelers will have a new head coach this time next week. He says that a dark horse candidate to get an interview that hasn't is Sean McDermott.
The issue of trans participation in sports continues to be a major political talking point on the right. Congress has pending legislation that would restrict trans people's ability to play sports, and hundreds of similar bills have already been introduced this year at the state-level. This week, Imara chats with Chris Mosier, a trailblazing trans athlete who made history and has just contributed to a new book called Fair Game, which debunks the core made-up-ideas about trans people in sports. If you're a believer - it's not a surprise. It's expected and frankly, it's Biblical. Enemies of those of faith have decided their politics are worth storming churches. The question becomes what will be done legally? How will churches and congregations deal with this legally, morally, and spiritually? Stigall unpacks the reaction from the leader of the invaded church in St. Paul as well as two different pastors and scholars instant reactions online. Mark Weaver, former DOJ spokesman and attorney explains what the DOJ's role might be. Also, is the FBI and DOJ getting ready to announce some big charges many MAGA folks have been waiting for? John Solomon reports that's the case. Erin Maguire is back for Mondays with Maguire to talk a little football off the top (she's a Bills fan) and what are the optics and election prospects of a party ramming ICE agents with cars and storming church services? And Stigall lays out the evolution of the left's tactics which have increased in intensity over the years in stages which he lays out today. - For more info visit the official website: https://chrisstigall.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chrisstigallshow/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/ChrisStigall Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/chris.stigall/ Listen on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/StigallPod Listen on Apple Podcasts: https://bit.ly/StigallShowSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Fair Game w/ Farabaugh – Steelers insider Nick Farabaugh from Penn Live dot com joined the show. Nick thinks it's fair to say that either of the Rams coaches (Chris Shula & Nate Scheelhaase) could end up being the next head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He said they love the Sean McVay tree and people connected to his staff. Nick expects the Steelers to trend toward a younger coach, that hasn't been a head coach yet, and also don't have to have a defensive background. Nick believes the Steelers job is a better one than the Dolphins job, which could be another spot for Shula in this cycle. Nick isn't sure if Scheelhaase is hired this time around, but the Browns are a team to watch if he's not offered by the Steelers. Nick isn't over-the-moon about Ejiro Evero as a Mike Tomlin replacement, but Anthony Weaver is one that hasn't gotten enough love so far. Nick also feels like Robert Saleh should be considered for this job, even though the Steelers have yet to request an interview with him. Would Jesse Minter be a fit in Pittsburgh? Nick isn't fired up over Jeff Hafley, who is interviewing here today. Nick buys into what Art Rooney said the other day – that the Steelers will not go through a full rebuild.
Poni is still coming down from the high he got once we heard the news of Mike Tomlin stepping down after Monday night's loss to the Texans. He said it's fun that we actually get to talk about this and it's not all just a hypothetical this time. Should we be as excited as we are though? The guys talked about people having second thoughts. What would we prefer – previewing a game or having the chance to talk about the next head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers? Are callers ready to tell us to be careful what we wish for? Poni does not have a feeling for this Steelers vs Chargers game. The Chargers are second in the NFL in time of possession, while the Steelers are 32nd. Herbert is better than Aaron Rodgers…right? Do the Steelers have enough to cover all the good WRs that the Chargers have? Fair Game with Nick Farabaugh. Nick does not see MVS playing anytime soon and that he has to “prove himself” in practice. Nick has the Chargers winning.

Sometimes, dreams really do come true! We're thrilled to have with us the amazing Jerry Zucker, who, alongside his brother David and their friend Jim Abrahams, played a huge part in transforming comedy in the 1980s. Together, they brought a fresh and hilarious twist to the spoof movie genre with the legendary 1980 hit “Airplane,” which the American Film Institute recognized as one of the ten funniest films ever made. Before that, the Zuckers and Abrahams wrote the cult classic, "Kentucky Fried Movie" (1977), a comedy consisting of unrelated sketches. After "Airplane," the Zuckers and Abrahams created "Police Squad!" (ABC, 1982) and turned it into the successful film franchise of today. Next, Zucker, Abrahams, Zucker returned to the big screen with "Top Secret!" (1984). Jerry also directed "Ruthless People" (1986) and "Ghost" (1990), starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. "The Naked Gun - From the Files of Police Squad!" (1988). He produced "First Knight" (1995), "Rat Race," "A Walk in the Clouds" (1995), and "My Best Friend's Wedding" (1997). Should we reconsider the Bills and Ravens as Super Bowl favorites? I Overreaction or Fair Game? I Eagles reportedly made an offer to the Cowboys for Micah Parsons.
While Ghost of Yotei has gone gold and is now right around the corner, other segments of PlayStation Studios are on far less sturdy ground. Fairgames (or Fairgame$, if you like marketing) is seemingly the latest victim of an unprecedented run of bad decision-making, execution, and leadership within Sony's first party, as the upcoming shooter has shed its director, often (though not always) a dire sign for any project. Taken with recent reports (from this very show) of poor internal playtesting -- all the while Haven has already shed its major front-facing face and co-founder Jade Raymond -- we simply have to wonder whether Fairgames will ever launch at all. And if it does, does it have any potential to succeed whatsoever? Other news this week includes the rumored reemergence of Insomniac's Wolverine project, downward-revised SSD space for upcoming PS5 consoles, a fresh look at the promising Uncharted-like IO title 007: First Light, and much more. Then: Listener inquiries! Does Naughty Dog actually represent the pinnacle of game dev? How much can people twist themselves into a knot to justify piracy?
