Andy Palmer, the acclaimed director renowned for his compelling storytelling and cinematic finesse, recently engaged in a captivating conversation with host Elias during the press day of his much-anticipated film, "The Re-Education of Molly Singer." "The Re-Education of Molly Singer" unravels the story of Molly Singer, portrayed brilliantly by Britt Robertson, who once epitomized the vivacity of college parties. However, her penchant for revelry jeopardizes her career, leading her to the brink of unemployment. Molly's stern boss, Brenda (played by Jaime Pressly), presents her with a last chance: she must return to her alma mater, befriend Brenda's socially awkward son, Elliot (portrayed by Ty Simpkins), and transform him from a social outcast to a campus icon. With unwavering determination and assisted by her loyal best friend (depicted by Nico Santos), Molly embarks on a comedic odyssey. Along the way, she faces off against snobbish hall monitors, unruly fraternity brothers, and even her old nemesis, in a hilarious and heartfelt journey through the past that might just save her future. Under the masterful direction of Andy Palmer, "The Re-Education of Molly Singer" promises an uproarious blend of humor, wit, and heart, making it a must-watch film for audiences eagerly anticipating its release. It's an enlightening, educational, and entertaining show this week on BEHIND THE LENS thanks to director ANDY PALMER and his new film THE RE-EDUCATION OF MOLLY SINGER, and documentarian TRACY DROZ TRAGOS and her new film PLAN C! Take a listen as we kick off the show with director ANDY PALMER who is with us live chatting about his new comedy THE RE-EDUCATION OF MOLLY SINGER! Sweet, funny, filled with some raucous collegiate hijinks, loaded with charm and terrific performances, Andy and I hit the books and dive into all of the cinematic chapters that bring THE RE-EDUCATION OF MOLLY SINGER to life. Covering everything from casting (fabulous performances from most notably Britt Robertson, Ty Simpkins, Jaime Pressly, and Nico Santos) to cinematography to editing to score and needledrops to crafting freewheeling collegiate escapades to the importance of location, color and costume, we "cram" it all in for you! And how about those "happy accidents" that often happen when working on a lo budget/no budget/micro budget film? Andy gets into those as well. An energetic effervescent joy, Andy Palmer is a filmmaker who knows his stuff and his comedy. Then things get serious as TRACY DROZ TRAGOS joins us live, giving us an education on her new hot-button documentary, PLAN C, a look at the abortion pill now known as "Plan C" and the underground network that helps bring the medication to women in need in these politically charged and divisive times. Listen as we discuss Tracy's process, the turning point of putting down the camera and stopping the research and getting the film finished, travelling the country to meet the women who are doing the grassroots work with getting "Plan C" in the hands of the women who need it, working with her editor and culling through over 300 hours of footage, the documentary structure and decision to avoid a film of talking heads and personalize it so we get to know the women showcased in the doc, and so much more. http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com
It's time to venture into the wild world of "DOA: Dead or Alive" (2006). Directed by Corey Yuen, this action-packed ride promises more kicks, flips, and roller girls than you would typically find on a Saturday night at a karate dojo.Join us as we follow a group of martial artists, including Jaime Pressly, Holly Valance, and Devon Aoki, on a mission that's part fighting tournament, part volleyball game, and all parts bewildering. With characters so thinly sketched they make a paper doll look three-dimensional and a plot that's about as coherent as a tumble down a flight of stairs. But here's the ultimate question: Does "DOA: Dead or Alive" rise as a guilty pleasure in the pantheon of martial arts cinema, or is it simply a punchline in the grand joke of cinematic history? I loved this movie, I loved this book, and I loved this show. Goodbye TV version of the Outsiders. We hardly knew ye. In this action packed "Solocek" episode, we discuss the gone too soon 1990 TV Show "The Outsiders". But be warned, things get spicy as I also discuss young versions of Jennifer Love Hewitt, Nicole Eggert, Justine Bateman, Alyssa Milano, Drew Barrymore, and Jaime Pressly. I also wax poetic about my love of "Roseanne", my dislike of David Arquette, and Rosie O'Donnell's killer monologue in "Beautiful Girls". I also educate you on the significance of promotional VHS copies at mom & pop video stores, and the saga of the Long Island Lolita, Amy Fisher.

Much like Jennifer Aniston longs for the universe to forget her role in the original LEPRECHAUN, here's a movie sitcom starlet Jaime Pressly probably wishes to simply sweep under the rug. This week on The Blind Rage Podcast, it's 1997's POISON IVY: THE NEW SEDUCTION, the second straight-to-video sequel to the erotic thriller, which helped Drew Barrymore return to the world of acting. The plot is thin, comprised mostly of made-for-TV cliches, and few things to help tie this installment to its predecessors. What we have here is some barely passable acting, cringe-worthy dialogue, and lots of female nudity, all of it wrapped in a neat little package tailor-made for late ‘90s Skinemax. Having said all that, part of me can't help but enjoy this one. Much of it has to do with Pressly's performance (I've always been a sucker for femme fatale roles in bad movies). Grab a fork because I'm kicking off Thanksgiving month with a healthy dose of sleaze. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/blindragepod/message

Want to make money in real estate? When I’m not producing stories in Hollywood, you can find me deep-diving into the fascinating world of real estate. What may seem complicated or expensive at first really isn’t. There are dozens of ways to enter, even if you have very little discretionary money to invest. In this in-depth 2-hour podcast, I break down the strategies and approaches I personally use to build wealth with property. Some of these will be familiar to you, but I promise, many won’t! There are a lot of unique and cool ways to participate in real estate that aren’t widely known. I’m here to share those with you. I discuss: owning vs renting, buying a house or income property, which is better and why, Airbnbs, 1031s, Delaware Statutory Trusts (DSTs), taxes, depreciation, syndications, LLCs, platform investing, debt vehicles, equity stacks, Opportunity Zones, and more. Don’t let the fancy words scare you. It’s super simple, tangible, and accessible. If you’re a creative like me, you have the need for tactile, concrete concepts like numbers and money. Our daily lives are filled with dreams and ideas that take time to come to fruition. I believe this is why so many of us in Hollywood love and play in real estate on the side. So take a listen. Even if you never ever intend to invest in real estate, you may find some nice actionable take-away for other areas of interest, especially if you own or run a business. Part 3 of 3 for filmmaker, Michael Addis' journey to writing his first book. This time we discuss a range of topics from the qualities of cover design, how to source them or make them yourself; the importance of book titles and more importantly their sub-titles. Michael ponders whether one's life is extraordinary enough to write a book in the first place. Many books are about triumph or incredible journeys. What if you have something important to share bit isn’t mind-blowing? And what if you want to write, but aren't a writer? Michael talks to us about TEMI.com, which he uses to transcribe his audio "writing." How do you get reviews? When do you get reviews? Are they even important? Michael shares the story about the time he bought a silver jeep to appear more manly and it backfired. He proceeds to then share more stories before the guys get stuck on the new phrase, "opening the kimono." The conversation eventually takes a very left turn when Michael talks about “opening the kimono.” Listen until the end and you'll understand. Is it just me? I don't think so! This week, we're talking Joe Dirt (2001), starring David Spade, Brittany Daniel, and Christopher Walken. Joe Dirt is the story of a man trying to find his family. At least, we are told this in the film, but the movie operates as more of a series of vignettes. These tie back to Joe's idea of family, but the story hook is barely there. Admittedly, we both didn't hate the film. Hell, Scott likes this film. Joe Dirt also stars Dennis Miller, Adam Beach, Kid Rock, and Jaime Pressly. We examine which jokes work and which fail, and Scott even lists off the exact moments that Max laughed at. We finish the episode with some viewer mail. We would love to answer your questions, so send us listener mail at TheCriticalBreakdownPodcast@gmail.com or leave it in a review for us on iTunes!
