On this episode of the Phenomenally You podcast I talk about living our lives free of the judgment around us. This topic was inspired as I have been reading the 5 Levels of Attachment by Miguel Don Ruiz Jr. Although we all have our idea of what freedom is, Mr. Ruiz provided a definition of freedom that caught my attention and touched me in a way that I had to speak about it. I hope you enjoy the episode! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nicole-quinlan/support

People experience different things during their life; some good and some bad. Everything we experience shapes who we are as people. Those experiences manifests within us differently. Society will try to tell you there is only one way an experience can affect you. It seems as if we have been conditioned to think we must be a certain way if we have had certain experiences. The fact is, it's okay to be okay, because of or despite what you have experienced. It's okay to have the experience, acknowledge it, accept it, use it as a learning tool, and then move the hell forward; as a complete human who has experienced some stuff, but is okay. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nicole-quinlan/support

This time last year if you would have told me 2020 was going to be what it has been, I would not have believed it. So much has taken place. The world has been confronted with reexamining integrity and values at a social and individual level. Everyday I ponder why people think the way they think. I don't believe in going back and forth, trying to convince others to think like me, but I wanted to talk about some things I have noticed. If nothing else, I hope you are inspired to take a deep look within. Enjoy!!! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nicole-quinlan/support

Unspoken Heroes...An Educator Talks About Distance Teaching

Welcome to Phenomenally You! The one woman internet radio program that is rooted in positive, empowering, and insightful conversation. Each week the host, Nicole Quinlan, talks about topics that are relevant to seeking and acknowledging happiness that is rooted in self. On May 19th at 8pm PST my guest is Paul Murphy. He is a teacher at Junipero Serra High School in Gardena California, where my daughter attends school. While working remotely during the pandemic my daughter has been attending school remotely. I know that parents have been faced with the challenge of making sure their children are doing what they need to do in terms of education and also coping as well as possible during the Pandemic. Teachers have also been challenged with educating their students from afar. Technology is a wonderful thing, but I am pretty sure 6 months ago teachers had no idea they would be educating students using technology like Zoom, Google classroom, and more. Mr. Murphy is the Director of Campus Ministry, the Christian Service Coordinator and a Religion teacher. He not only teaches my daughter, but also taught  my niece who is a Junior at Arizona State University as well. The students at Serra love Mr. Murphy, who has continuosly challenged them academically and encouraged them to be accountable for the kind of people they want to be in the world. Mr. Murphy tells his students "some of you will love me, some of you will hate me, but if you don't have an opinion about me, I haven't done my job"

Don't Drive in the Bike Lane When You Know Better

Between Saturday and today I have had more than two people ask me to send them the link for this specific broadcast I am uploading this evening. When I received a text from a friend asking me about this particular broadcast this morning, I knew it was a sign. A sign that I am listening to. I actually swapped out my live broadcast this evening for this upload, which I was going to play next week. This particular upload is from over a year ago; however it is about something that is relevant today; especially since we have been forced to stay at home. This evenings broadcast is called "Don't Drive in the Bike Lane When you Know Better".  I am talking about why we do things we know are not beneficial to us. Why is it so hard to just do what we need to do in order to live lives that are balanced physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally? I feel like I have been really faced with this challenge since we have been dealing with quarantining and self-distancing. I have been forced to really look in the mirror. Some things I am seeing I love. Other things are not so great. I know exactly what I need to do to make some changes, but sometimes it just seems way to hard to do. Grab a nice beverage, sit back, and enjoy this evenings broadcast of the Phenomenally You podcast. Enjoy!!!!!
