Sounders Pow Wow

And here we are, looking the Club World Cup square in the face. And trembling like a jackhammer being held by a puppy. After the week that was, can anyone, seriously, believe there is a point to be had for the Seattle Sounders during this upcoming tournament? Or has it all been a ploy to lull the competition into a false sense of security and the Sounders will be the Cinderella story of the summer?

The wagers are coming fastly and furiously in this episode. Plenty of unsubstantiated talk of the Sounders opponents and opinions...we got plenty. Who's gonna be right? Who's gonna be wrong? And who needs to shut their face? Yeah, pretty much Jonathon for all of the above.

There is every reason to believe the Pow Wow will incorporate new segments into our program, however, y'all will be spared this episode. That's not to say there aren't brand spanking new things coming your way. We discuss Timbers, Meese and dogs. What else do you need?

Gathering up our momentum, Eventually starts the season minus a regular yet plus a new addition and there is excitement in the air (as well as several highly contagious beasties). Charlotte is on the horizon, Antigua is as well (and somehow in the rearview mirror) and there is a Fantasy League to be joined.

How do we feel about the 2024 season? Who are we protecting for the upcoming expansion draft? What does the team need heading into next year? And, of course, do we plan on putting together another show before the end of the year? All these questions and more are answered in today's epidode.

Here you have a team which can go on the road, beat Philly and return to home to play one of the most, well, let's say, less than enthusiastic matches of the season. Followed up by a US Open Cup performance which shall become written about in song for future generations. And off to Portland for a battle of mediocrity and a game which may be nothing to write the Times about. Or will it? And questions.

The road trip has started, Nouhou fights with Uber, Stef fights with DC, one Roldan fights with a header, the other loses his fight for another week and there's a game tomorrow. And then another on Sunday. Likely looking 12 matches played and one win to show for them. The Pow Wow has a good time on this episode, no matter what the Sounders do.

Finally a win, against a struggling team, but a win is better than a draw so the Pow Wow remains joyous (except Jonathon, that grumpy son of a). A big Katy's time (part 1, in fact) and plenty of speculation, questions and silliness.

The field conditions were so bad in Philadelphia last weekend the match was postponed. Sounders Pow Wow is so bad this episode was delayed. Colorado sends the Rapids to the PNW and we are there for it. But not for much longer, if Don Garber doesn't start heeding Troy's commands.

While certainly not the best result we could have hoped for at LAFC last weekend, the Sounders showed well and provided at least a bit of excitement in the Pow Wow. There's questions to answer, players to be judged and jerseys to be ranked.
